How do I add a new email address to my AOL account?

You should not add a new email address to AOL. Your benefits from being a member of AOL are almost nil. You should instead get an email address from a completely free service, such as gmail. Your internet service provider undoubtedly would provide you with an email account. You should not be paying for access to the internet. They should be paying you.

How do I access my TCS email from outside?

TCS Webmail is a popular global leader in the IT solutions. Being a global organisation, it provides all its employees with an official TCS email ID. However, this email ID is valid only till a person is employed at the company. So, if you leave the company, the company bans your email ID. While it is easy to log in to your official email from the office, you may want to keep a check of your emails from your personal laptop at home too.You may log in to outlook on your computer. All you must do is go to https://mail.tcs.com. The site will ask you to enter your credentials. You may login then.Remember, the website or the email box allows you to visit your emails simply. You are allowed you to access the attachments from outside. If you try downloading any of the attachment, your email password may probably get blocked.Further, you are likely to get your password blocked if you enter your email ID wrongly for more than three times. Wondering how to get out of it? You may raise an IT ticket to get the new webmail access or for your password recovery. If you look forward to accessing your TCS email through your smartphones, you can download Citrix receiver from your Google play store. Open the application, choose TCS Mail and log in. This allows you to access your emails anywhere and everywhere through your smartphones.TCS being such a giant company. How can I forward emails from Yahoo! Mail to Gmail automatically?

Yeah, you can do it in two ways, either via Gmail or Yahoo.I recommend doing in via Gmail; which is pretty straight forward. Here’s how:Step 1: Go to Gmail settings, Accounts and Import tab. Direct link is given below.GmailStep 2: You should see something like below. Click on Add an email account under Check email from other accounts. You should now see a pop-up asking for the email address to import emails from.Step 3: Enter your Yahoo email address and click next.Step 4: Select the first option, Gmailify and click Next; you can also choose POP3, which is slightly more complicated, but you don’t need that from importing from Yahoo.Step 5: Enter your login credentials for Yahoo mail (this is totally secure); and then submit. You’re all set! You should now receive emails sent to your Yahoo address directly in your Gmail. (Gmail usually retrieves these emails every 30 mins or so).Hope this helps.

What made Gmail unique when it was first launched? What are the things that distinguished it from other competitors?

A couple of reasons that made Gmail insanely great at launch were based on how radically different, new or ahead (better) they were when compared to any existing player:Data storage - Hotmail, Yahoo and all other major email providers were still circling the 2-5 MB data storage limit range. Enter Gmail with their 1 GB storage limit - which was a quantum jump over the competition. They took it a step further, where you could save all your mail (like the real world) and not choose what letters you would like to keep and not keep - and when you needed it you could just "search" for it - which was a big deal back then.Significantly faster response - When the team at Google was working on Gmail, like Google's search engine, speed was again key. The interface was light, and had no image/flash based ads keep it quick and easy to load. Simple theory - it was clean; it was simple; it worked!Conversation View - This is probably one of the core gmail experiences that was directly visible to the end-user. Conversation-view let users explore emails that were spread over any time period and still maintain the train of thought connected to a thread.Spam Filtering - Gmail had a significantly better Spam Filter. Hotmail and Yahoo Mail (both used by me at the time) always had relevant mail in the Spam Folder and vice-versa.Invites - This was the one final social boost they got during the launch. Gmail was rolled out to new users in phases for obvious product testing and scalability related reasons. However, in the user world, getting a gmail account was cool. Unlike social networks, your friends didn't need to be on it for them to know you were on it. You could show off your gmail id, and how you have access to all these cool services - "Yeah... Just write down my id... its xyz@gmail.com" :P. Initially, Gmail was invite only. And then you could invite only 5 of your friends - which was later increased to 50 before it was finally removed. This led to a great sense of exclusivity. (They tried to replicate a similar model during the launch of Google Wave and Google+, but didn't quite work out for them.)

What are some lesser known Gmail tips?

Just found out about this little nifty gmail feature found on google Gmail that will be useful to many Quora members:Quote:Using your Gmail address that can give you greater control over your inbox and save you some time and headache. When you choose a Gmail address, you actually get more than just "yourusername@gmail.com." Here are two different ways you can modify your Gmail address and still get your mail:Append a plus ("+") sign and any combination of words or numbers after your email address. For example, if your name was hikingfan@gmail.com, you could send mail to hikingfan+friends@gmail.com or hikingfan+mailinglists@gmail.com.Insert one or several dots (".") anywhere in your email address. Gmail doesn't recognize periods as characters in addresses -- we just ignore them. For example, you could tell people your address was hikingfan@gmail.com, hiking.fan@gmail.com or hi.kin.g.fan@gmail.com. (We understand that there has been some confusion about this in the past, but to settle it once and for all, you can indeed receive mail at all the variations with dots.)For me, the real value in being able to manipulate your email address is that it makes it really easy to filter on those variants. For example you could use hikingfan+bank@gmail.com when you sign up for online banking and then set up a filterto automatically star, archive or label emails addressed to hikingfan+bank. You can also use this when you register for a service and think they might share your information. For example, I added "+donation" when I gave money to a political organization once, and now when I see emails from other groups to that address, I know how they got it. Solution: filtered to auto-delete.—————————————————————————————————————More nifty online business ideas plus some of the best online money making businesses that work, check out my profileNigel Clarkson

Why do people slit their wrists instead of their femoral artery? Are these people hoping they’ll be saved?

So I’m going to answer this from two points of view…The first being the medical side. I would suspect there are a few reasons why people slit their wrists instead of the femoral; namely the availability to get at the wrist as opposed to the femoral. If you think about it, the mainstay of any clothing someone wears is t-shirt and long pants. this leaves your wrist easily accessible and makes it easier to quick cover incase someone walks in on you about to cut as opposed to trying to pull up your pants/ pull down your skirt or dress pants leg. The next reason is depth. Take a look at your wrist for a quick second, I personally weigh 280 lbs (to be fair, most of it is in my abdomen, but it is spread out too) and I can see on my right wrist about four or five different veins, thats four or five holes that can gush blood out, not including the arteries if I would hit those. The last reason, and by NO means should you take this as a reason for everyone; is that cutting is often not so much a way to kill themself but as a way to deal with emotional pain as well as have some sense of control. It can also be used as a way to get attention. The whole “I have an issue. I need help. I don’t know how to ask for it though…. please help me.” Again, do NOT take that final reason as why everyone cuts. From the flip side, slipping back to when I was 15 and full of depression and a general attitude of life sucks, I did indeed cut myself, though I tended to go lengthwise instead of across my wrist. At that point it was a way to cope with life, puberty, and the way that I viewed having a shitty existence. To be honest, I truly don’t think most people who cut want to kill themselves, If they did then they would go about it a different way than cutting themself (think about it, how painful is a papercut vs a cut on your upper arm?) Plus, if they’re GOING to cut their femoral, they’re probably going to be more likely to either overdose (statistically how most females commit suicide) or hang themself/ use a firearm/ get in the path of an oncoming train/ etc (statistically how most males commit suicide).
