Is there a keyboard shortcut on Windows 7 to minimize a window?

Alt-spacebar (to get the “Window” menu at the top left) followed by N - to miNimize has been a way to do this forever. The “Window” menu also includes M for Move, X for maXimize, and S for Size. Now you can use the Window key and down arrow toRestore a maximized window back to normalMinimize a normal windowI’m not sure how long the Window key has done this but I just verified the above on Windows 7, 8.1, and 10.The Alt-Spacebar technique works all the way back to Windows 3.A shortcut I use all the time is Window + Shift + up arrow. This maximizes a window vertically while keeping it the same width.

What do you dislike about Windows 7?

For the most part I like it, but there are bugs that still need to be worked out. Here are some things that can be improved...

The gui seems a bit oversimplified like vista, you have to dig through several layers of nonsense in order to get through to the more advanced options and tools.

Action center needs to be removed. "Security Center service disabled"? Go to hell.

It's hard to minimize windows so you can see the desktop. You have to press the "show desktop" button in the bottom corner of the screen to get to it. Just seems like more advanced control of all windows is lost as in XP.

You can't view images in a .rar using 7zip. Could be fixed with a software update but I absolutely LOVE the fact you do this in .zip's and traverse the entire zip without unzipping it first.

There's no close, forward, or back buttons in the image slideshow, but you can do this right right-clicking. For me, this just takes time to get used to.

DirectX video is pixelated on all video apps like VLC. For now I have set openGL as the output decoder, nothing my core i7 can't handle, but it would be preferable if this gets fixed in a video driver update since running avi's in WMP looks really artificial. This may also be why the text in my Steam games look slightly off-contrast (but probably a monitor driver issues since Dell has yet to release a windows7 one yet.)

Why is my screen minimized - is there a fix?

I must of hit a button accidentally, as all my MSN, Yahoo, Googles etc. on My DESKTOP when opened are in a "small screen mode." How do I fix this so that it will be maximized again permanently. I can max with the square button at the top right hand corner but it's getting to be a real pain to have to do this time after time. I have a Dell AMD 64, Athalon Dimension E521, Microsoft Windows XP.
