How do I overcome the fear of an injury happening again after severely spraining ankle while playing basketball?

One of the preventative measures you can take for avoiding a sprained ankle is examining your feet for flat arches. This is necessary to identify a foot posture problem such as flat feet; without proper arches, your feet end up flattening on to the ground, forcing the ankles to move beyond their normal range of motion. This type of improper foot movement can make you vulnerable to ankle sprains. You can practice ankle roll exercises to build strength in your ankle muscles – sit comfortably in a chair, lift one foot and move your ankle in a circular manner. Repeat this exercise 10 times for each foot.Besides strengthening exercises, you can also regularly wear MASS4D® foot orthotics to provide corrective support to your feet. These orthotics are designed to regulate the unhealthy movement of the feet and ankles.MASS4D® foot orthotics support your feet in an optimal position so as to prevent the development of common foot conditions and ankle sprains. With the risk of ankle sprains minimised, you’ll feel more confident during training knowing your feet are well protected.Read more about the importance of a healthy foot posture in sports here.

How do I overcome my fear of sports?

Interesting that you call it a "fear" rather than a "dislike".  Despite the unsportsmanlike teammates, do you enjoy the games, or are you forced to play them against your will (like at P.E.?). If you enjoy the games, but not your performance or your teammates, then you have a few options:1) practice more and concentrate on one sport that you really like and get better at it.  All of those sports demand a certain amount of skill that you can get by working solo or with a friend to improve basic techniques.  2) take it as a life lesson.  Playing with poor sports happens in life off the pitch as well. One tip:  notice when your teammates make great plays and be the first to congratulate them on it.   If they flub something, express sympathy and encouragement.  In other words, treat them like you would like to be treated.  Pro tip: Make the game about your teammates, not about you.  If they berate you - agree and amplify - "you're right, I'm not very good at this.   How can I get better?"  Expect snarky answers like "stop playing" and laugh them off.  Never let it show that you are upset.  14 year-old-girl drama is inevitable, but try not to let it consume you - it gets better.3) the ad-hominem attacks by the ballerina are pure bullying. Realize that she is coming from a position of emotional weakness and fear.  Berating others is a prime signal of low self-esteem.  You should pity her and her pathetic insults. 4) There are many sports that you can do solo and only compete against yourself or the clock.   Running, swimming, lifting weights (yes,  girls benefit from this) and bicycling all come to mind.  5) Ask  other players on the team to practice with you and give you pointers.  If they really enjoy the game, they won't mind helping you out and getting an ego boost from someone who admires their skills.

Should I let my fear of concussion drive me in my sport?

It’s not clear what “drive me in my sport” really means.I know skiers die from head injury. If your affairs are in order and you’re not leaving a mess for your family, there are worse ways to go. It certainly seems like the skiers who died on the slopes were having a damn good time right up to the minute they crashed. It’s the life-changing, lingering TBI that is scary. I have no idea of how many skiers suffer enough of a blow to cause TBI.One thing you might want to think about: Find a way to keep yourself off the slopes after a hard hit, for longer than YOU think you need. Double-taps are horribly damaging, and the person who took the first blow is the LAST person who can evaluate recovery and return-to-sport fitness. If you are a single person, it will be hard to set up a way to keep yourself off the slopes as long as your brain might need to recover.

How can I overcome my fear of getting injured playing soccer?

Well there are innumerable ways to injure yourself that don't even have anything to do with soccer. Soccer injuries are just a subset. In addition to that we all know that life in general can be extremely unpredictable and you can only do so much to prevent yourself from getting injured or even killed in some cases. My point here is that the fear of getting hurt shouldn't stop you from doing something that you enjoy since injuries are a part of life and especially contact-sports such as soccer. Major injuries such as a leg break aren't even that common to begin with but they do happen. So for the major part, as long as you take care of your body and make sensible decisions on the pitch you should be alright. So go out there and play like you've never played before because you're still alive! You only get so much time on this planet, might as well make it count!

How can I overcome my fear of getting tackled in football?

I am just starting freshman football, and I am in your same position. However, I am comparing it to rollercoasters; I was scared of them at first but once I rode one I felt a rush like no other and wanted to get back on it. We don't start full gear practice until August but I am sure that after the first few hits and getting accustomed to the contact, you will do fine. Perception is reality, so go into it knowing you will get back up and continue to go beast mode on the other team.

How to not be scared of injury in soccer ?

Don't see a psychiatrist, that very stupid and a waste of money.

When the ball carrier is coming your way you need to position yourself in a manner so that he won't get passed you. If he is fast and he can get past you then you should lead him away from the goal. Keep on his pace and once you get an opportunity then is when you try and take it away. Always keep your eye on the ball and try to anticipate where he is gonna go. Don't be afraid to tackle him because broken bones are not common and there is not a big chance that you will break something. Be smart about it and be firm when you try and take it away.

As for when you become the ball carrier, you should look up and pass it an open player. If you don't see anyone then just kick it really hard to the other side of the field. If that is not an option just kick it as far as possible from your goal. Just control the ball and never kick to the middle of the field if you are by the goal. Always to the side or forward, never towards the middle. It can lead to the opposing team intercepting the ball and it is much easier to shoot from the middle than the wings.
