How Do I Put Clips Into My Imovie Thing So That I Can Create A Video

How can i put more than two videos side by side in imovie?

I make youtube videos of Dance Central Gameplay, recording all three levels of the game, so my videos get kind of lengthy. I want to do it so that i can just edit it where i have all three sets of the levels going at the same time (and if possible, the actual screen of the game in the corners as well..), but i don't know how to. I know how to do side by side videos, but i don't know if imovie will let me do more than two, I've tried before, but i don't know what i'm doing. so if anyone can help, it would be great. Thanks!

Oh! and if you know that imovie won't do it, can you name a free video editing processor that i can use that will let me do that (mac), and explain how to do it? Thanks a lot! -ryan

How do you remove black borders around video clips in iMovie?

I have iMovie 6.0.3 HD. I know that with iMovie '09 you can easily crop clips, but that program is more difficult to use than the version that I'm using, in my opinion (plus, I'm already half way done creating a movie in iMovie 6).
So, how can I do this? If I can't do it in iMovie, what other programs work? (note: if you're going to suggest ones to download, they must be free to do so). Thanks!

IMovie clips are black and there's only sound?

Alright, I've been trying to ignore this problem ever since I got my Macbook Pro a year ago, since I usually try to edit videos with my PC, but seeing as Macs are known for their quality editing abilities, I've decided enough was enough. It's time to get this problem fixed.

Apparently this problem happens a lot, but I haven't found any real answers online. I have the Lion OSx operating system. Every time I try to open iMovie, any time I try working with video files (no matter what type they are, cause I've tried mp4, mpeg, avi, everything), it shows the thumbnails fine, but whenever I move my cursor over a certain thumbnail, it turns black.

When I try playing the clip, the audio works perfectly fine, but the video isn't working at all. All I see is black. Here's an example: http://i48.tinypic.com/2sb35du.jpg

I've tried any solutions online I could find but nothing seems to help. I've tried deleting the cache list, restarting iMovie, using shorter clips, the works. And oddly enough, picture files show up fine. It's just the video files I'm having problems with, despite what video/movie it may be. Any/all help would be GREATLY appreciated, as I'm no expert on Macs and have used PCs all my life. Thanks, guys!

How do you overlay videos in iMovie?

Hey there! Instead of putting in a bunch really wordy instructions, I have annotated an overlay example in the picture below. Simply:drag the 2nd clip ontop of your new clip.Select the 2nd clip (so it’s highlighted yellow)Hit the ADD AS OVERLAY button and mess around with the dropdown options which give you Cutaway, Green Screen, Split Screen and Picture in PictureIf your 2nd clip seems cropped, click the crop button. Also if you get frustrated, just send your videos over to bropro.video we are a video editing platform (or other stuff). Cheers!

How do I create a choppy effect in film/iMovie?

Without seeing the movies, I'm guessing as to the exact method used. But here are a couple ideas:

Unlink audio and video from a clip.
Remove frames from the video, either randomly or in a set pattern until you have 8 or 10 frames per second remaining. Then adjust the time/speed of each remaining frame to fill in the gap left by the deleted frames. (This is where a set pattern is handy, as all the remaining frames will need the same adjustment and can be done in one step)

You can also insert grain, snow, or other rendered "Noise".

Another way to get the rushed, poor camera-work look is in "motion/possition" animation.
Select a clip, and in the effects window zoom or inlarge it slightly. Then start randomly placing the clip in the frame. Add rotations and tilts to simulate poor camera handeling.

If you are working with HD, the native compression may make this hard to do.

How do I add a logo image to an iMovie video?

The other answers are all good. You could also add something with a green screen if you want it to be superimposed on other content in your video.A transparent background on the logo will also give you many options for placing it on top of the video playing. Here I have “Set up your environment for productivity” on the green screen and the image with the lights showing in full.By taking an image of your logo with a green (or blue) background, iMovie will cut out the green (or the blue) an superimpose it on the video that is playing.Put the green screen footage on the top and the movie on the bottom. Then go up to the top to the 2 rectangles on top of each other icon, and drop down and select Green/Blue Screen. That will make the blue or green transparent, the logo on top and you will see behind it whatever footage you want.Once you have your logo on a green background, you can use it on any video. If you also put your logo on a transparent background, you can combine is using the Picture in Picture option (you can control its size and position) and even the default Cutaway option. You can move it using the Ken Burns option (under the Crop icon). There are a great many possibilities.Jan Future-Proof. Take Charge. Entrepreneurship.

How do I stop a clip from overlapping on imovie?

So, I'm creating a little movie with picture clips and text on imovie. Up until now I've been able to insert a picture clip, add whatever text over it, and then manipulate the time of the clip to however long or short I need it to be. But.... all of a sudden when I try to change the time of the clip, the text overlaps onto the next clip or next few clips. I am doing it wrong? Is there a way to prevent or reverse this problem?

I couldn't find exact answers online.... hoping someone out there knows what I'm talking about and that I'm not a super n00b....

Imovie wont let me drag clips into the timeline?

I'm not sure how you imported them but try pressing at the top file, import and see what happens, you could also try by creating a new event and then dragging them on the timeline

How do you keep a clip in the same place in iMovie?

I'm editing a project in iMovie, and throughout the whole thing, there's a song that I need certain clips to stay in time with. Is there a way that I can lock these clips in place so they won't be moved with respect to the song when I add clips in between them?

How do I make a video from a bunch of different clips?

You can use an online tool like Wave.video to do that.Upload your own clips or choose ones from Wave.video built-in library of stock visuals, crop them (if needed), choose transition effects, aaand - done. As simple as that.Additionally, you can add text overlay and music to your video to make it even more informative and engaging.Enjoy!
