How Do I Slow Down Everything For Editing Purposes In Sony Vegas Pro 12

Does Sony Vegas video editing run smoothly on low end laptops?

Relatively smoothly. It’s the footage that kills performance, not software itself.24/25Mbps FullHD from consumer camcorders or cameras may be enough to slow it down.while it doesn’t look like a big numer, keep in mind that 4k Netflix/Youtube has 20Mbps and it only decodes it continuously. While you edit, you jump randomly and computer has to: locate the fragment on disk, copy to ram, decode by cpu/gpu and display in preview. In short, if your laptop CPU/GPU chokes on Youtube in 4k, it’s too slow to handle editing

Sony Vegas Pro 13.0 Cropping?

Hello! When I'm using Sony Vegas and I'm trying to press the ''Event Pan/Crop''-button nothing happens! I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but with no results... (I'm using Normal Edit Tool)

Sony Vegas Running Extremely Slow?

I am using Sony Vegas Pro 12 and for some reason it is lagging so hard. I have used it before with absolutely no problems and it ran extremely fast, but now for some reason it barely works. When I press play to watch the preview, it takes a few seconds, plays ONLY the audio, then when i press pause, It stops the audio then takes about 5 seconds, then sony vegas stops responding then it comes back after like 7 seconds. I need to edit this video and I cant because Sony vegas took a dump on me. Please help, and no its not my computer speed. I have an Intel I5 3570k Quad Core 3.5 GHZ processor. I just recently swithced back to the onboard graphics, could that be it? Anyways please help, thanks

What laptop is best for sony vegas pro 13?

I am looking to get a laptop that can run sony vegas pro 13 well. I don't have the space for a desktop unfortunately. I have an old laptop I can trade in to help with cost (Acer Aspire M5-583P-5859) but my budget would be around $1,000. I don't game very much so I have a ton of space, but I have found that I enjoy video editing quite a bit and would like to get the very best software available. Thanks!

What's a good video editing software besides Sony Vegas?

Try Magix Movie edit Pro. it is really powerful fast editor.
It is best for fast editing. I have it and I love it.

If you want something really powerful get Adobe Premier Pro.
This is an amazing program. It is my favorite.
It does need a lot of computer power though.
For a fast editor that is really powerful and runs pretty smooth without glitching, get Magix.
It has a really grate price. Not like Adobe Premier Pro.

I use Magix for all of my simple editing. Adobe has was better color control.
If you have the Money and computer specs get Premier.
If you just want a cheap program that is really powerful for the price get Magix.
I have not had glitching with both programs. I am using a really powerful desktop computer though.

Final cut X pro or Sony Vegas, which one is better and why?

If you check through my answer to the “Which one is better…” questions you will see that it remains the same: Which every one you know how to use i the better one. Why? It is because all NLE’s basically do the same job though they might get there using a different path. Knowing how to use your program of choice makes it better than another program; it means you know how to get to your end result faster than if I were to try to get you to do the same edit using a different program. Your entire editing experience will be better, more fluid and less frustrating.I’ve used Vegas Pro for many years and even got my certification a few years back (when Sony still owned it). To me it was far better than every other NLE I tried. At that time Premiere Pro had to transcode many file formats just to add them to the timeline, Final Cut was only on a more expensive Mac and Avid was cumbersome and expensive to use. But for me to get to that point I dedicated a lot of time studying Vegas and learning how to use every aspect of the program. While I have switched to DaVinci Resolve for editing and color correction I still miss certain features of Vegas Pro because I know how to use it better than I know DR. If I have to do a simple editing project I will turn to an old copy of VP.The purpose of any NLE to get a mix of video, audio, graphics and pictures into a final creation to show family and friends or to provide to your company or a client. All of them do it in a different way and most of them can do the same thing. The “better” one is the one you know better than the others that can do everything you want it to do.One downside to Vegas Pro is that while it integrates with an Audio program (Sound Forge) it doesn’t natively integrate with a FX Graphics program like After Effects (Premiere) or Motion (Final Cut) though you can use third party plugins. II have used Vegas with After Effects but the workflow is slower than if I were using Premiere.

How do I fix the choppiness after rendering a video on Sony Vegas Pro 13?

Pay careful attention to the settings under the "Customize Template..." option for the rendering output you have selected.  Some options allow the source to adjust the frame rate from what you intend it to be.  If the source footage is not choppy to begin with, make sure that check-box is deselected.  In addition, if your footage is not exactly the same frame rate as your intended output, I strongly suggest right-clicking on the footage in the timeline and selecting Switches -> Disable Resample.  This step saves you from weird ghosting caused from frame rate mismatch as well as some rendering time.

Can I run Sony Vegas Pro on a 2GB RAM?

Technically yes, though video resolution/preview will be limited. You will run into sluggishness and HDD usage once main RAM is utilized depending on what’s already running on the OS and utilizing your system memory. Video projects can quickly rise to 1–2GB depending on the resolution, type of clips, and so on.However, if you work on and or with lower resolution videos it may not be an issue. If you are doing 720p/1080p you could easily still get by just depends how many clips, the type, length and the amount effects you plan to apply on top of them.

Why does my Sony Vegas Pro 14 freeze when I press play?

I have experienced freezing in Vegas when attempting to cut or adjust anything on the timeline while the preview is playing. It's a 1/100 event but annoying enough to change my work style to avoid it. It usually unfroze after 1–5 minutes which is a lifetime when you're waiting to find out if you lost an hour's worth of work! When i doubled my system’s RAM the problem all but disappeared. Vegas is very RAM hungry, so I'd suggest buying more as a potential fix. Vegas also has a heap of options to customise, and the defaults are often terribly unstable. Do some experimenting and see what works for you. I know disabling multi cpu core and gpu use improves it no end.
