Is it good to switch off the phone while charging?

You shouldn't use your phone while it charges. Use it all you want, as long as you're not using a sketchy third-party charger. There are scary reasons behind this myth. People believe that using a phone while charging will make the phone explode, or electrocute the user. Charging your phone overnight kills the battery. Your phone is smarter than you think. Once it's fully juiced up, it knows to stop charging. That means the battery isn't even in use at all. You don't need to turn your phone off — ever. Your phone may be a machine, but it still needs to take a few breaks. An Apple Genius said that in order to maximize battery life, you should turn off your phone from time to time, especially when you go to bed at night. Turning off your phone is important for Android devices as well. A simple reboot can help restore battery life. Don't charge your phone until it's completely dead. It's better to charge your phone every day than to do a "deep charge" from time to time. Heat will ruin a battery. This is absolutely true. Heat and tech don't generally go hand-in-hand, and that's no different with phone batteries. Lithium-ion batteries heat themselves, and get hotter while they're being charged. Cold weather can also have a negative impact on a phone's life, and a cold battery will die faster than usual in low temperatures. Your phone will be safe if you keep it within its recommended temperatures; Apple says 32 degrees Fahrenheit is the lowest recommended temperature for an Iphone’s environment. Samsung, on the other hand, guarantees its phones can function anywhere between -4 and 122 degrees.

My Samsung phone turns on and then turns off then on again?

So last month when i plugged in my phone (Samsung illusion sch-i110 from Verizon prepaid) the phone would turn on then off and it wouldnt hold a charge so I unplugged it and I turned it on it would show the Samsung logo then it shut off like 5 seconds later.. I have ordered a new battery but I dont know if that's the case or not.. Please help I dont want to reset it or anything!! (It is unrooted never has been messed with in anyway.. I have had this phone for nearly 2 years and this has never happened before).
*UPDATE!!* I plugged it in to a Samsung charger and it would turn on and show the little battery like it was charging (although the battery looked like it was low) and then it turn off and I left it alone and would show the same little battery at the same level so I unplugged it and I turned it on and it would show the Samsung logo and then turn off again then turn on again

Why does my phone only charge when powered off?

Also check that GPS location is off or power save, Bluetooth is off and do not use power hungry games or apps while charging.Use always a beefy and short cable. The shorter and beefier the cable, the more the copper. This will make angry pixies dancing happily (let more current flow to your battery)Does your phone starts charging and stops while you move it? Maybe the phone charging port, or the cable prongs or the cable itself are damaged. To quickly and cheaply diagnose thisTry both a different cable and chargerDo not use power hungry features and apps while chargingCheck temperaturesIf phone or charger gets slightly warm, it's okay. If they get really warm, something isn't going really good. If any part of the system gets clearly hot - unplug and have it checked. Something is going utterly wrong.

Do I have to switch off a mobile phone when charging its battery?

No it doesn't.Switching off a phone when charging will only help it charge faster. This can also be achieved by using another charger with same voltage and higher current.Complete charging of the battery in switch off state can also calibrate the battery readings in rare cases of incorrect battery reading sometimes .Edit :Modern phones use Lithium-ion batteries which are much more able to withstand discharging and charging anywhere in the charge state, except that deep discharges (less than 1% left, or 0% left) may kill the battery permanently if done only ONCE. But all modern phones will shut themselves off before this happens, and as long as you charge it fully within a few weeks, you will be OK.Li-ion batteries do have a lifetime (approximately an average of 2–3 years) so keeping the battery unused in the hopes that the battery will last longer won't work. Also, avoid heat, which degrades the batteries. Li-ion batteries perform better at cooler temperatures. You can have multiple charging cycles of any size from full cycle to partial cycles of varying sizes. It will not affect the battery in any way. Also, the charge rates are controlled precisely on all high quality phones, so there is never a reason to unplug it. You cannot overcharge it.P. S. A special thanks to Mark Taylor and German Kaul for their valuable suggestions and contribution.

Why does my cell phone keep randomly turning off?

My phone does that all the time. it gets annoying i know. But i dropped mine in the pool so that may have to do with something. it usually does. Take the battery out and you will see a dot somewhere and if it is fully red then you have severe water damage and you probably need to get that checked out. But i have had my verizon phone for a year now and it is fine. I just choose to save money. If it isn't red, then it is fine. Verizon phones tend to do that all the time.
hope that helps :)

How to turn off blinking light on alcatel one touch phone?

This same thing has happened to me. If you're phone is not about to die and it still continues, Swipe the top of the screen down. You should see the time out icon. Press it a couple of times and the annoying flashing light should stop.
