How Do I Transfer Probation From Iowa To California

What happens when you transfer your probation from Iowa to Minnesota?

Per INTERSTATE COMPACT: Moving Out of State While On Probation dated March 16, 2017:“You must remain in the state within which you were placed on probationwhen applying for Interstate Compact. You must fill out an application for thetransfer. Then, it is up to yourprobation officer and the “sendingstate” (the state that put you onprobation) to decide if your case qualifies for transfer.”

Can you still receive financial aid if you are on academic probation?

Yes, but at some point,  the financial aid will be cut off if you remain on academic probation..  You no longer can be a graduate teaching assistant.  However,  your Snell loan will not cut off  if you are graduate student, and  a snell loan CAN be transferred to another university as long long as you keep  updating   your information. If you have  a Pell grant,  since grants don't have to be paid back. I'm not sure if being on academic probation disqualifies you for grant. It does not disqualify you for college work study,  but college work study jobs end when you  pay back the the temporary loan and your job becomes available to any undergraduate  student who applies for it because they want the job experience and are not getting any  financial aid from the University. All of my 4 college work study jobs were that way. I just took the place of  of someone who  had earned the limit of their temporary loan. I don't think the University of Oklahoma even bothered to check if i was still an undergraduate student on my last college work study job. Even though i was graduate student, I applied through OU human resources the  same way as I had when I was an undergraduate. The job was open, and OU was not loaning me anything.

What usally happens when you stop reporting to probation?

Your PO will attempt to make contact with you by calling, sending an appointment card, and ultimately going to your house and job. If all those attempts, or some configuration of them, fails one is declared an absconder, fugitive, and reports are filed with the court; warrants are usually issued at this time if not already.Your time stops, tolls, your probation is suspended. This means your case does not expire, your probation will not run out. The same thing happens when people abscond from parole. Everything stops until they are apprehended. At that time a revocation hearing will probably be held, your probation revoked, and likely be incarcerated. Many things can be explained away, but absconding from supervision is not one of them. I have seen many people walk into a revocation hearing for several things and through attorneys and what not they walk back out still on probation. In my over 10 years of direct experience I have never seen anyone maintain probation after walking away. I am sure it has happened, but I've never seen it.

Are only parolees and those on probation allowed interstate compact transfers?

I tried to get an interstate compact during my first term in prison. I talked to my counselor and filled out all the necessary paperwork . I was trying to parole to Oregon from California state Prison DVI Tracy. My parents had moved to Oregon before I caught my California youth authority term and sent to prison from CYA. Unfortunately the state of Oregon did not accept my interstate compact from California so I was paroled back to Fresno.

If someone has a bench warrant in one state, could that person be arrested in another state for that same bench warrant?

I have read almost all of these answers. I am originally from Indiana, and the state places a rider on all their misdemeanor warrants that it is enforcable only within state boundaries. Now, I seen almost all of the answers her are from people with law enforcment back grounds. Not to upset anyone but police officers do not spend the time and money attorneys do on an education. When there is a rider on the warrent it is placing a legal jurisdiction or enforcement on that warrent. And that warrent is then only a legal document in the boundaries of jurisdiction of that document. Outside of that it is worthless, nothing more than toilet paper. So it is my understanding that it you are out of jurisdiction of the warrent as stated on the warrent (which at the time the officer runs a check it is stated there it) and arrest you only on the basis of that warrant then they have commited a legal kidnapping and have falsely arrested you due to the fact the officer already knows the jurisdiction of the warrent and what the intent of the issueing court is on the extradition. So yes you should take care of the warrent as soon as you can, but understand that if you are checked and you are in fact outside the limits of the warrent. It is no longer a legal document and can not be enforced at any cost just like a city police officer had NO jurisdiction in another city that is not within his state. In fact if that police office from NV came to my state of Florida and tried to use his badge in a official capacity he would be arrested for impersonating an office. If the law is like that for the jurisdiction of a person what do you think they would be for a pirce of paper. And remember to alway demand (not ask) to see the warrent and to read it completely before you sign it. Some jails have been known to pass off the warrent as extradition papers just to get you to sign the warrant. Sorry to any law enforcement officer i may have upset.

Will a misdemeanor warrant in one state apply on another state?

Extradition costs are borne by the state demanding the apprehension of an individual. The interstate compact on extradition in the USA refers only to felony offenses. No worries on those misdemeanor warrants. But if you have an intra state misdemeanor warrant you could be in for a rude surprise. You can be arrested in a different t county of the state and held in custody and transported back to the county that issued the warrant! Think warrant out of Orange county (southern California) and you get picked up in Humboldt county (next to Oregon border). If you don’t make bail you’ll sit in custody for about a week before arriving in southern California to appear on that traffic ticket!

Handgun regulations in Oregon?

I'd like all the information you can about handguns in Oregon. What age do you need to buy one, how old do you have to buy, how much does it cost (approximately), any regulations, etc. The questions I'm looking for are not limited to what I listed.

How long would it take to transport an inmate from Florida to Indiana?

Like the other answers it could be a day, could be weeks.I know a guy who got arrested in Virginia for an outstanding felony warrant out of Texas. It took 4 weeks to transfer him back to Texas. It was by bus and every night he was booked into the local jail wherever they happened to be. And by booked I mean finger prints and photos, the whole thing.

I have a warrant for my arrest in Texas. I don't plan on ever going back to Texas. Can they still get me in California?

Texas would have to want you for something way more serious than an unpaid traffic fine to extradite you from California. Extraditions are expensive. It's salary, plane fare, ground transportation, hotel, and meals for two cops both ways and one prisoner for the trip back. There is no sense to doing that to get a fine of a few hundred bucks, at most. This doesn't mean that you are free and clear so long as you stay out of Texas. If you try and obtain a drivers license in California or most other states, they will probably check for suspensions in other states, and a traffic warrant usually also suspends your license. A background check for a new job could reveal the warrant. Some local courts report unpaid fines to credit agencies, damaging your credit report. There are all sorts of loose ends associated with arrest warrants, and one of them is likely to trip you up. Arrest warrants are valid until served or recalled. Some courts put an expiration date on warrants, but just as many do not. I once served an arrest warrant that had been sitting in file over ten years. It stemmed from a citation issued by an animal control officer for allowing a dog to run free, without a leash. Arrest warrants are court orders to any peace officer with jurisdiction and capability to serve the warrant. If the officer was to refuse to serve the warrant, he could be held in contempt of court. While it may be personally satisfying to flip the figurative bird at the Texas court that imposed the fine or the police agency that gave you the ticket, the arm of the law is long, and has a way of reaching out and touching you sooner or later.

I screwed up my junior year badly!?

OK, I am a guidance counselor in Calif and I hear this all the time.
First, I need to know what kind of math, as the minimum is alg 2 but should this B be in a higher math it is seen differently.

Sorry, you need four clean years of English so when I see D in English then it is off to repair work for you. At our school you can do a correspondence course, summer school or even the local community college to repair this damage. If all else fails, you take an extra English class in semester one of senior year.

French -- I need to know your level. is it 1,2 or higher?

History is a patchwork item for college. Some places focus on the World plus a semester of gov and semester of US. It generally comes down to 20 units that are C or better and really, you want higher!

Public colleges often use grade 10,11 and that is it but do not hesitate to make contact as they may indeed look at semster one of senior year to see if you cleaned up the weak spots. Call and make contact with the admissions folks at the place you want to go. Ask of advise, they often have it and you will be surprised. Is there a community college nearby and if so how does it fit should you need to transfer?
Why are you ruling out private colleges? Have you heard of the WICHE exchange? What they do cover your region and should you want a college that is part of this collection you can go out of state at instate plus 50% tuition. Some states have different options for admission and they also can be cheaper due to location, need of student etc.
