How do I share PC (Windows XP/ Win7 ) Internet connection to my Android 5.0.2 (Sony Xperia Z3) Lollipop smartphone via USB cable?

Since you want to share the internet via the data cable, I assume that your PC is not having wi-fi capability otherwise creating a hotspot should have done the job. Now coming to your case, what you want to do is called reverse tethering. But the problem is that you need a rooted phone, so if your warranty period is over root the phone or if you have done that already then follow the below link. For reverse tethering:http://www.howtogeek.com/117118/...In case you want to know about rooting then this page is enough:http://www.digitaltrends.com/mob...

How do I connect to wifi internet on my Windows 3.11 computer?

Short answer: At least upgrade to Win95b and get a USB wifi adapter.

Long answer: Microsoft hasn't supported Win 3.11 for over a decade - which was still years before the first WiFi adapters started to appear. Win 3.11 doesn't support PCI slots nor USB - which are the 2 most common interfaces used for WiFi cards now. Even if you COULD find a ISA WiFi card or some sort of external WiFi device that connects to your serial port, you'll need drivers for Win 3.11 - which as I mentioned before had already been stopped being supported by Microsoft years before WiFi equipment even hit the consumer market.

Your only hope is to get a standard ISA 10-base-T ethernet card and connect that with an ethernet cable to your router. You could also connect it to another PC that also has wifi, and then use that computer's 'internet connection sharing' service which was built into Windows starting with Windows 98 and later.

Connecting HP computer with Windows XP to internet?

First thing I would do is isolate the problem. Connect the XP computer to the modem directly then try creating a new connection.

If that doesn't work, check device manager to make sure your network hardware is functioning. It'll tell you if anything isn't working property. Try disabling then enabling your network adapter to see if that brings it back.

I've had cases where Windows doesn't detect anything wrong but the network adapter on the motherboard just wont work. I usually say forget it and go out a buy a cheap ethernet card and slap it in a free expansion slot to get online again.

Edit: For connecting directly to a DSL modem, like ATT U-verse, you'll need to go PPPoE so you can enter the account name and password. If you can get online that way then you'll know if the ethernet adapter works.

Sharing internet connection from windows to linux.?

I just installed Ubuntu 11.04 on my Desktop computer. I want to connect it to the internet by sharing a connection with my laptop (windows xp). I've used a network bridge and Ethernet cable to share internet with my xbox before, but I can't seem to get it to work with Ubuntu. I've tried going to auto eth0 and setting the iPv4 settings to "shared with other computers," but that didn't do anything.
Any suggestions?

How do you connect to WiFi with Windows XP?

It is possible. You will need a WiFi adapter card/network card, as most Windows XP do not come with one (they are too old). Here is the one I used (before I threw out the Windows XP): N300 Wireless Lan USB AdapterAfter you get one, you need to install the driver. When you plug in the adapter, it should automatically start installing (at least, in my experience). If it does not automatically install, there should be a disk that comes with the adapter. Insert it into the CD slot and run the setup. After you install the driver, you can press the network button at the taskbar (bottom-right) and select the network you want to use.You must keep the adapter plugged into the computer at all times!Hope this helps!

Why is my PC (Windows XP) not connecting to any phone, be it Android or a simple one, for data transfer but only charging the device via USB?

OK. First thing to confirm … is your phone showing up as a storage device in Windows Explorer? I am guessing not.Checks that need to be carried out first.USB cable is working and no issues there.USB ports on the PC and phone(s) are also working fineThe phone connects to another PC/laptop; no issues/I am assuming that the cable is not the problem and you have checked with multiple cables. I am also assuming the USB ports are working. There could be a couple of issues to check and cross out.Issue 1. The first issue is specifically for Android phones. When you connect an Android phone to a PC, the phone does not automatically enable data transfer services. The PC recognises the new USB device as a generic device. The +5 V and ground connector are uninhibited and they start charging the phone. The phone does not show up as itself in Explorer or Device Manager. To recognise phone (device) and enable data transfer service, you have to look in the phone status bar (at top) and you will the following:Click on the status message and you will see the following:As you can see that the phone is enabled only for charging. Select the “Transfer files” option or “Transfer Photos” option. In the former case, the entire phone file system is open to you and you can get/put any file anywhere on the phone. In the “Transfer Photos” option, your access is limited to the DCIM photos folder only.Issue 2. The Windows XP is a pretty old OS of the 2003–2005 era. It is quite possible that the driver of your phone does not exist - though most drivers are backward compatible. But still the driver may not be recognising the device. Check out for latest device drivers for the phone. Best place is from the manufacturer’s website. Otherwise look under Driver’s Guide, etc.
