I've already changed it back in the internet options and clicked apply, it's not something that I haven't done. My antivirus used to alert me when someone was trying to change my home page, but it doesn't do it with google. How do I get rid of the google homepage ASIDE from changing the internet options every 5 min.? This is a new problem that just started happening. There's another poster with the same problem. Any ideas how and why google is taking over?

Yahoo has taken over my Google Chrome! How do I get rid of it?

someone told me that yahoo browsers are fake.If you change your default search engine and Yahoo keeps coming up as the default when you open Chrome, the problem probably has to do with unwanted software. Please try using the Chrome Cleanup Tool [Windows Only] to remove unwanted software.

Google Chrome search keeps changing to Yahoo?

Before anyone says anything, I know I'm using Yahoo in order to figure out how to get rid of yahoo from my browser.

So I've been having a problem for the past week or so. On Google Chrome, my default search in the settings has been changing to yahoo. At first I didn't think much of it. I deleted yahoo from the options of what can be the default search. I changed it back to google and went on with my day. However, when I closed out chrome and reopened it, the default search would change back to yahoo, no matter what I did. I've scanned my computer for malware and did a complete sweep to clean it of anything. Still had the problem. I read that something regarding spigot could be causing it. I purged my computer of anything related to spigot and still had the problem. Just purged the computer of anything regarding yahoo. Deleted yahoo from the default search and put it as chrome. Restarted, opened up chrome, and google was the default search. Awesome. Closed it and reopened it to confirm and there was yahoo again. Some people online stated that it was something running called searchsettings.exe or something along those lines. I haven't found one instance of that in the processes or anywhere on the computer. I'm hoping someone knows why yahoo keeps being made my default search and knows how to stop it once and for all.

Help! Bing has taken over my homepage and I cant get rid of it. I want my yahoo homepage back.?

I had this same problem. I tried resetting my homepage on my browser and no matter how many times I tried it didn't work. Turns out I just installed a program called "Advanced System Care" on my computer. It has a setting that "protects" your home page and search engine (i.e., prevents it from being changed by 3rd party sources, but also prevents you from changing it!). I just got lucky when I opened Advanced System Care, I noticed that setting, and was able to turn it off, and problem solved! You may have that, or a similar program "protecting" your homepage that you have to find. Good luck!

Omiga plus is basically a potentially unwanted program, not exactly a malware, but, it can irritate you a lot by adding various unnecessary add-ons and changing your browser's setting. However, in order to completely remove it from your system, you would have to remove it from your computer's registry and its system files.Further, you can even remove it by installing AdwCleaner, which would be easier and less tedious for you. Scan your system using this cleaner, followed by deleting all those unwanted files. Once you successfully remove Omiga Plus, you can then simply remove this cleaner too.Hope this helps :).

Yahoo has taken over my computer. How can I get rid of it/ It is NOT in add/remove programs?

I type in the name of a website in IE (e.g. www.dropbox.com) but instead of taking me to the website I end up at Yahoo's search engine where the requested website appears at the top of the list. I click on that and I go to Yahoo RDS, whatever that is. I do not want Yahpoo search engine or toolbar yet there is no way of removing them.
