Help with MLA in text citation: two works with same title?

I am in the (very, very slow) process of writing a research paper, and I have come across a problem: I may be citing two encyclopedia articles with the same title. Here they are:

“Edgar Allan Poe.” Authors and Artists for Young Adults. Vol. 14........
“Edgar Allan Poe.” Enclyclopedia of World Biography, 2nd ed. 17 vols......

I think I'm fine with having them like this (completed of course) in my works cited page, but I'm not sure how to cite them in the text of my paper since neither articles have authors. Please help!

What is the difference between quotation and citation?

I think this is the most simple way to show the difference.Citation: You refer to particular resource. For example, you read a paragraph or a chapter from a or book journal and write it with your own words.Quotation: You write the paragraph from a particular resource word for word. For example:Quotation: According to Jonathan Clarke, "Professional diplomats often say that trying to think diplomatically about foreign policy is a waste of time."Citation: According to Jonathan Clarke, if you think diplomatically about foreign policy you waste your time. And here you can find more about different citation styles:MLA StyleAPA StyleChicago StyleTurabian StyleHope this will be helpful!

If you are only citing from one source, do you have to use in text citations?

It depends on the professor. I do a ton of writing and usually never site in text.. I have had a couple professors call me out on this, but my grades have never suffered because of my lack of in text citation.I often worry when I turn in Essays for the first time (new professor) that I'm going to receive a bad grade simply because I did not cite a reference correctly. My solution thus far has been to never quote anyone that I cannot attribute to the work directly within the sentence. I find myself writing things like " According to Narijuna, in his book " In Praise of Dharmadhatu", we are given several examples of Buddhist ethics.. rather than..... Narijuna's view on Buddhist ethics are as follows... or ... On page 32 of his Book, "Catastrophe", Keys states... rather than.... Keys concludes that the decline of classic civilizations came as a result of a natural disaster. ....

If my arm has been twisted- I believe the correct way to sight in accordance of APA is in parenthesis in the order of author, title, year, and page. In certain cases, I believe you only need certain info such as the Author and page when referencing a work numerous times in one work. I'd ask the professor how he/she wants you to cite to avoid confusion... Maybe next time when I'm in doubt- I'll take my own advice as well.
