How Do You Make A Successful Boy Band

Can any Indian pop band be as successful as the K-pop band BTS?

Yes…it is absolutely possible. Anything is possible. But, it is a bit difficult at the moment. Why? Let me tell you. But before that let’s take a look at South Korea’s music industry a bit more closer.South Korea doesn’t have dance songs in their movies or dramas like in Bollywood, Kollywood, Tollywood or any Indian entertainment industry. Their system makes the people look for nice songs and dance which the K-pop bands present for the audience. They have lots of music shows which helps the k-pop bands promote their songs and albums. They have lots of interesting variety shows where the idols can show their talents. All these shows interest all age groups and all genders of the audience.Whereas, in India, the movies themselves present us the songs and dances we need. So, why would people want a separate group to perform anything? If our music Industry evolves more such that it can afford good songs, albums to be made and can also promote damn well, then surely Indian pop groups might also take over the world. So, the three main requirements for Indian pop industry to bloom are:Good entertainment companies that willing to train and debut the bands that can make really good music and songs.Good music shows to showcase the groups’ talent and promote their music.Respect and recognition for the people who are in the music field. It is plausible. But someone should start taking the initiative.I had the same question as you after I was introduced K-pop. I loved the songs but I started to wonder how their songs got recognition world wide while our songs, dramas and movies aren’t that popular. Then, I ended up with the above answer after analyzing the two industries. I even wondered if I should start my own entertainment company. But then, forming a group and bringing out a successful album consumes a lot of time and a looottt of money. We don’t have enough shows to promote the songs and YouTube is the only greatest way for good recognition. No one cares to buy an album here as all the stuff is available online (but people might start buying albums once the group becomes a bit famous). Plus, all kinds of the audiovisual songs with dance moves are already in the movies performed by the favourite actors. Also, we have this one big problem, language. Let me be honest, not all Tamil people know Hindi and Hindi is the language spoken in most of India. Our mother tongue differs. This causes a great issue.

Question That Contains Assumptions: Why are teenage boy bands so much more successful/popular than teenage girl bands?

I would imagine this is about the respective cultures of their audiences. It is not so much about 'innate' gender traits, and more depends on the cultural constructs that shape gender behavior and the acceptance of particular types of expressions and invested interests. As we all know, the most popular bands are not followed for their musical talents or creative abilities, so whatever the groups being studied are banking on is part of how to determine the nature of their popularity.Since formulae for popularity and financial success are more patterned than unpatterned, eventually a greater homogeneity tends to arise from the collective efforts of specific cultures or interactive clusters of cultures.

Do you think that ZE:A (a boy group) would end up being successful if they make a comeback?

no most of them are in their mid-twenties now or have just simply moved on. and seeing how different the idol industry is these days, unless an entirely new debut, most newer fans wouldnt even bother acknowledging the older groups.

Why are girl bands not as successful as boy bands?

I can only think of three main reasons.First: the music market was dominated by males for a long time. There were few bands that had females before the 60s and even female singers were sometimes sexualized or trivialized. Classical well known composers are mostly male. One could say there has been a lot of male dominance in music history. Be it because of sexism or not. That is the fact. So it is hard enough to encourage women to be part of rock/pop bands even today, the problem is finding 4 girls that have charisma, looks and a little bit of talent and play different instruments. Then become succesful in a male dominated medium. It's kind of hard. The second one: boy bands are (at least from what ive seen) based on commercial succes, publicity, looks, popularity, etc. Teenage girls are way more impressionable than teenage boys, thats why you see those crazy one direction fans that SWEAR that those guys even care about them. Its less common for males to be obsessed over some crappy pseudo-musician that has a very big marketing campaign. Unlike them, girls are easily attracted to musicians for some reason. Maybe it's cultural and that's they way it works in the west because of gender roles and social construct. I dont want to start gender based debates but those are the facts. At least from my point of view. Of course im making assumptions and generalizations that can be wrong. But to me, the teenage girl archetype fits more with boy bands. Which leads to my third point:Corporations know it. These people make money from bands, they invest in marketing, they obviously have experts on the field that know what sells and what doesnt. Nowadays, a lot of music labels like sony et al are just about money. Why not start a girl band? Because theres no buisness in there, and commercial music is all about the buisness. Go indie, do your band. Who cares about the status quo. Why does it matter if people do it or have done it before. Just do what you want to do, do your band and explore, create. Dont get stuck by stupid things. I wish you the best of luck. I am a musician myself and i know how difficult it can be to have music as your passion.

Why is it difficult for successful boy bands (one direction, backstreet boys, BTS) to win Grammy?

Boy bands generally tend to attract a particular sect of people; pre-teen to teenage. No doubt you can see they win most of the fan-based awards as most of their audience fall in this range.Thing is quite different in Grammys as Recording Academy members generally vote here. For the most part, these panel members consist of people from a diverse set of backgrounds (engineers, composers, song-writer etc.). Hence their particular inclination to a vote is dependant on so many factors.Add to it the amount of talent and nominee that each category comprises of. So it's a bit difficult to make room for a particular band because they might excel in something (popularity) but lack in other.

Fictional Boy Band Names? :)?

I want to get into a boy band?

Hey guys I want to be famous and have all the girls love me so I want to start a Boy Band Im 13 not bad looking and a good singer I want to have it with 5 people including me so how do I start off and I need a band name pleas help

Would it be gay to wanna start a boy band?

Unless you were actually making a band purely created for writing songs about being attracted to the same sex and homosexual experiences, then it wouldn't be gay.

From what you have provided, I assume you could substitute in the word 'lame', perhaps.

But all in seriousness now, if you think your friends will find it stupid that you want to start a 'boy band', try and make it sound as intriguing as possible. You could just say band instead of boy band, and I'm sure if you mention the ways that you think it'll be fun then they might be on board.
Just be sure to highlight the pluses I guess!
