How Do You Not Stress Over Something Important

How do I control stress and not get panic when something is not working?

This technique works for me.  If things are going wrong or something is not working and I start to get panicked, I ask myself "What is the worst possible thing that could happen if this gets as bad as it possibly can get."  Once I have thought of what I think the worst possible outcome could be, I ask myself "Can I deal with that?" so far 100% of the time the answer to that last question has been "Yes" and that lets me relax and do what needs to be done.

What is something you can't stress enough?

Oh boy Yes!!When I was in medical school,I volunteered for the WHO campain for polio vaccination. We went from door to door in a Highly populated (to put it mildly) neighborhood giving free polio drops to all kids age less than 5.More people than I’m comfortable admitting shut the door in my face. They don’t want polio vaccines. Thankyou very much. Why?Because their husband/local imaam (priest)/neighboring aunty/Mother in law told them itsharmfulUnnecessaryHaraam (?? Because disease is from Allah so you should accept it and not meddle in His affairs)A conspiracy to make their children sterile (wow. Like if the world could prevent pregnancies with oral drops we’d have all the west fighting for women rights to abortion. Facepalm.)Causes their kids diarrhea (smart thinking!! Getting a paraplegic child for life is obviously so much better than a shitting child for few days.I am not ashamed to say I shouted through their doors “ofcourse your husband/local imaam (priest)/neighboring aunty/Mother in law is much more qualified than me who has simply studied for SEVENTEEN YEARS to become a doctor and be able to tell you that you are responsible if your kid gets polio and you are responsible if you make someone else’s child disabled by your kids transmitting it and you are responsible if the world puts a ban on Pakistan for our stupidity.”I’d shake my head and my heart would bleed at their ignorance.Imagine my surprise then, when I discovered quora around the same time and to my astonishment found out that there are parents, parents with access to information and internet and healthcare, parents in first world countries, in USA and Australia who refuse vaccinations on the offchance that it might cause some developmental disability!!!This about sums up my feelings on the topic.Dear first world audience (and also second and third if you are reading this and need me to tell you)Vaccines are a not a joke. The disease they treat are not a joke.I have seen a 6 month old baby boy die of meningitis.I have seen a 5 year old die from measles complications.I have seen literally seen a 12 year old develop opisthotonos, a painful spasm of the whole back muscles as a result of tetanus whose father had refused for her to be given the tetanus toxoid following a simple fall on the playground. So the one thing I cannot unstress enough??Vaccines. Just get them.

Why is it important for us to study stress?

Its im important to study stress because if you understand it you can control it,know what effects is has on your body, and finds ways to prevent stress

Why am I never stressed out about anything?

So you understand the test is important, but you don't feel it is important. You might not have much of a mirror neuron system. What others want, the collective defined “important”, it's not inherently important to you.Your brain does not react as typical, and the feelings of others close to you (their stress, anger, joy) has no effect on you. What they feel is not projected onto you. This works two fold; that both others’ anxiety is blocked and that expectations onto you are not a concern for you (as what they want does not register as a desire for you). You probably find guilt does not work on you either. If you don't care then you won't get stressed. Another half is then required (and I assume easy if you are competent and have no personality disorder). If you have a good self image (reportedly most do who lack mirror neuron systems) and know you will turn out well whatever the future holds, your baseline should be stress free. You accurately perceive no physical threat and realize that your life is safe in the modern world. (This implies that you just haven't found something you really want yet, and therefore you have nothing to lose and no actual reason to be stressed.)Good luck. Studies suggestion you probably will become a banker or a police officer. Stay moral and avoid trouble.(Losing your freedom is the worst, and that fear will keep you as a productive tax paying citizen)Edit: original question details: [I don't EVER get stressed. I would have unit tests, assignments, essays, exams and other projects due the very next day but I will still be calm and wouldn't stress out. Not even a bit. ]

How do I cope with the loss of something with a lot of sentimental value?

What have you brought by birth? What will you carry forward after your death? The answer of both is—”nothing”. Then, there is no valid point to repent over losing any material. In reality, men are hankering for acquiring materials. These items become part and parcel of their life with deep sentimental value. As such, they are depressed in losing them. Such behaviour is common in most of the people. Somehow, it is humane. But too much depression or pain is unusual and avoidable. Just follow.  1. Nothing in this world is permanent, including life. In this light, any material is temporary. Hence, there is no reason to bother losing any material.  2. Time is the best medicine. Children forget their mother's death within a few months or a year. You will also forget the pain of losing your favourite things and wonder, how fool I was to depress so much on this petty matter?  3. What is your stake in this vast limitless world? Just a few feet. Like a drop in the ocean. And your favourite thing? Very very negligible. Rabindra Nath Tagore realised the eternal truth on watching the moonlit world through the window of a night train and regained his mental peace after the death of his favourite son. Is your pain more severe than his?4. The material you lost was not your cup of tea. This is your destiny. What has happened, happened for good? You could have lost more valuable things. Thank God for this.5. There is a balance in life. You have lost something. You will gain something. You should not lose heart. You should not depress.

How to deal with mental stress?

Have you tried just honestly making an effort to stop yourself, everytime you start to stress about something someone else does? Try to fill your mind with other more important things.... get a hobby even...you need something else to focus on. And remind yourself that other peoples' business doesn't concern you or affect you! Just doing something constructive and/or relaxing may help you alot!
