How Does It Work If Your Baby Will Be On A Different Insurance Plan Than You

Do I need life insurance for my baby?

I am about to have a baby, and see lots of ads for the Gerber Life Insurance for children, but don't know if I need it. The price seems to be less than what I would have to pay at my job. Is this something I need?

Will husband's insurance cover wife's pregnancy?

I (husband) have medical insurance from work and it has coverage for maternity care.

Suppose my wife does not have health insurance and she gets pregnant, me being the expecting father.

In such case, shouldn't i be able to use my insurance for my baby's maternity care and delivery? and how about delivery complications?

or does maternity coverage only applies to female insuree?

How to pay for dental work without insurance?

I’m 18 and have my own apartment, I am about to start community college and I work as a waitress everyday of the week. I’m barley making enough money to pay for my living, but I really want to get my teeth fixed. I still have baby teeth and my lateral incisors (however you spell it) are where my canines should be, and vice verse. Also I have a pretty bad over bite. The problem is, I don’t have insurance and I don’t even know where to start with that. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do? I’ve been trying to save up, but everything I need could cost up to $20,000.

Do I need life insurance for my baby?

If you had an unemployed uncle that did nothing but lay on your couch watching TV and eating chips all day would you insure him?  Insurance is a product to protect your financial position in case of a loss.  Your baby is not productive, you do not earn income from your child and you will not suffer substantial monetary loss if your child dies.  With this in mind I have to ask exactly what it is you are protecting?  Certainly, it makes no sense to have a large policy on a child.  Perhaps, there is an argument to be made for having a relatively modest term life policy that would be sufficient to cover funeral expenses if your child were to die (and you are not in a position to self-insure against this improbable risk) but nothing more.Of note, there may be some that recommend a whole life policy as an investment for your child.  There is some merit to that; however, it is likely true that you could purchase an equally secure investment vehicle with higher return for less money.  If you are considering insurance as an investment for your child then you may wish to speak to a financial planner rather than an insurance agent so that you can get a larger suite of options before you make such an investment.

Tricare Insurance (Marine Corps)?

If you are not entitled to any benefits after you get out (and that all depends on why you are getting out, how long you were in, etc) Tricare ends as soon as you are officially out of the military. It is no different than the insurance plan you would have with any other employer in that if you are no longer working for that employer, you are no longer entitled to those benefits. Now, some plans will let you keep your covererage going for an additional time after you leave the job, until you find another and the coverage there kicks in. However, you will have to pay a monthly premium for that and the co-pays (you would not be eligable for Prime under that plan, so there would be co-pays). Contact your local Tricare office..they should be able to give you answers specific to your situation. This should also be covered in the transitional programs the military member should be taking before he/she seperates from active duty.

If both husband and wife in India are working and both of them have different health insurance policy from their companies, can they use both those policies to claim for maternity expense reimbursements by splitting it?

Though I am not sure, but i guess yes. You cannot claim the complete amount from both insureres but yes by splitting the amount you can. Moreover you need not to split the amount yourself. While filling up claim form do mention that you have another cover from other company as group insurance. Depending on the claim amount and cover available, insurer will itself put a contribution clause (if any) and make you to claim from other insurer by issuing settlement certificate.in case your claim amount is well within the insured amount, then there's no need to make claim from other one.

How much do you pay for health insurance per month?

In my state for a couple age 30 or so with a 4 month old baby the policies run $96.53 to $1904 per month. The premium varies by state and will also vary by age.

You'll want to speak with an agent that works with all of the major local plans to find out what is available in your area. The agent can explain the differences and will know what you get with the plans. Be aware that you cannot get off of your group policy until open enrollment should you find anything better.
