How Does Tom Araya From Slayer Sound Like Singing In Church

Is Tom Araya from slayer a nice guy?

great guy! regular hang out have a beer type guy

he was asked by a reporter about the satan kill death hate god lyrics of Slayer and if he was a satanist... his answer when he was done laughing was " in a catholic!! that's what our fans want to listen to so that's what we play!" Slayer fn RULES

Is it wrong for a Christian to listen to Slayer?

I am also a christian who happens to like metal. I love slipknot's sound but also do not agree with most of the things they say for they sometimes can be offensive. my advice to you is to keep your values and faith but continue to listen to what you want. but when your listening to the lyrics know what you stand for and tune out the things that you find wrong and offensive. That's what I do :)

Who will be your Thrash Metal supergroup?

Any musical group that manages to create great music is more dependent upon the chemistry between band-mates than individual virtuosity. That said, if we were to try to predict possible chemistry between the members of our hypothetical supergroup, the answer would turn into a book. So, assuming that any set of thrash metal icons we choose- will have perfect chemistry with each other, I nominate the following:-Jason Newstead (Metallica) - Bass/backing vocals. This guy is a monster. Watching him live is an electric experience unrivaled by few in Rock ’n’ roll and almost none in Thrash Metal.2. Lars Ulrich (Metallica) - Drummer (duhh..)Find me a better drummer in Thrash Metal, and I’ll change my name to Miss Pennyworth Piddington.3. ‘Dime-Bag’ Darrel Abbott (Pantera) - Lead GuitarGranted that he is not from the ‘big 4′. And not alive. But totally worth it. Just a little necromancy required to bring back the Cowboy from Hell so that his guitar can demonstrate the concept of Domination through shredding. This brings me to the final member; the vocalist. The frontman. The face of the band. And for a Thrash Supergroup, there can be no better face than the face of Thrash metal’s father. This crazy ass motherfucker-Say hello to Lemmy Kilmister (Motorhead) - Lead Vocals/Rythm/Bass.He isn’t from the ‘Big 5′ or the ‘Big 4’. That’s because he birthed the genre in which the Big 4/5 thrived in. Can you seriously form an imaginary supergroup without this guy? I say “Nay!”.This rock demon-god strode genres like a titan standing with his two legs on different continents. And us mere pitiful mortals could only look up and bask in his alcohol fueled awesomeness. For 40 fucking years (1975–2015)!!!There you have your Thrash Supergroup. Now if only we had the Infinity Gauntlet…

I'm afraid my son is a satanist. His favorite band is called Mega Death?

Lol, why can't you let people be themselves? Also, Dave Mustaine (of Megadeth) is a Christian and they have made a couple Christian songs. Tom Araya of Slayer is catholic, he just doesn't think music should interfere with beliefs and thinks the lyrics are cool. And your son has a right to choose his own path like everybody else, and you have no right to brainwash him. And also before you insult the music, take a listen to Blind Guardian. Extremely talented band that sings about fantasy and the like. If you don't like the thrash message, you can always try to get him to listen to other types of metal you approve of:

EDIT: LOL, depends on the type. LaVeyan Satanism is practically atheism with a "enjoy life" message.

Oh, and there is Christian metal see if he will take a listen to these bands:

Famous non-satanic black metal bands ?

Immortal is your best option. They occasionally mention demons but not in the religious sense but rather monsters that live in the fictional wintery land of Blashyrkh. Burzum never spoke of Satanism or gods either but he does occasionally speak of Norse mythology. Venom does make pro-Satanic music but by their own words they are not Satanic and only did it for shock value. The same goes for early Bathory - just shock value. Mayhem would be okay too for the most part.

Every DSBM band I've listened to has never spoken of Satanism or religion.

A few other bands I know that do not speak of religions/gods are:

Blut Aus Nord
Darkthrone (except for a couple songs)
Endstille
Negura Bunget
Peste Noir
Satyricon
Summoning
