There's one that sits between Angie's and Richdale on Pleasant Street. There also a brand new public restroom at Cashman Park, which is off Merrimack Street.

How long will it take for standard mail to get from Ohio to Washington?

What are the best things to do on weekends as a student at UMass?

On campus: there are movies, dances, clubs, places to just sit and watch people, hang out with your friends. There are shows at the Fine Arts Center. Try walking UP the stairwells in the Tower Library! It’s a helluva workout. Read the graffiti. Some of it is hilarious! Check out the art exhibits. Go to some off the clubs and learn to dance, fly a hang glider or an airplane, paddle a kayak, climb a mountain, paint, cook, glass blowing, weave baskets underwater, breathe, sing, watch anime, play an instrument, etc. This is college—there are things to do! I got a job working at the Dining Commons whenever I had the spare time. That earned me enough spending money each week I could partake in other activities.Off campus: Go downtown into Amherst. There are restaurants and pubs galore. You’ll find something you can do! The town often has festivals and programs on the green. There are great places to just sit and watch people going by. Go swimming at Puffer’s pond in North Amherst—you can walk there and build up a sweat walking there. The water is ice cold! Take the bus over to Northampton and find even more. There are other colleges in the area, look up and see what activities are going on there. There are fantastic places you can visit to hike and enjoy nature. Skinner Park has one of the most gorgeous views of the Connecticut River Valley (aka Pioneer Valley). Mt. Toby has an observation tower you can climb and get the same view from the other end of the valley. The bike trail can take you from Amherst almost all the way to Northampton without having to deal with most of Rt. 9 traffic. There is 101 a place just south of Northampton where you can see dinosaur footprints in the rocks along the Connecticut River. (Take Geology 101. Great course and they take you to all the best spots in the valley to see nature!)The PVTA busses will pretty much get you everywhere in the area for no cost. (Well, it was free when I was in school. Might be different, today.) Plus, if you were hitting the pubs, you don’t have to worry about being pulled over for drunk driving. It was well worth taking my bicycle with me to school—I could get almost everywhere without having to pay for gas or wait for the bus or worry about finding a parking spot when I got back. What you do depends on your decision to choose to do something. But you are going to have to look around for things to do. Check the bulletin boards in Campus Center and the Student Union. You’ll find something there!

What are my chances of being accepted to Phillips Exeter Academy?

Before I answer, let me just say this: whether or not you are accepted to Exeter is WAY MORE than just a simple referendum on or judgment of you. A vast universe of parameters comes into play. Odds are low. Because lots of people apply. And most of those people are smart, and driven, and accomplished. But a lot of those people only apply because it's Exeter. When I attended, I knew plenty of kids who, when asked why they were at Exeter, could only reply, "It's Exeter," like how when you asked why they wanted to go to Harvard, could only reply, "It's Harvard." As in, doesn't EVERYbody want to go to Exeter? Or Harvard? Not everybody wants to go to boarding school. Or college. Of the people who do, to a man and woman they would each be better off not necessarily at Exeter or Harvard but at an institution which best meets their needs. Someplace they feel comfortable. Someplace that works for them and for which they're willing to work. One school simply cannot compile the best minds in every conceivable field. And no one school is guaranteed to open doors and secure employment.People who don't know any better might salivate at an Exeter or a Harvard on a resume, but do you really want to work with/for people who don't know any better? As far as college acceptance goes ... also a mixed bag. I went to Exeter and had a 1570 SATs (impressive in 1998) but I was rejected from nearly every college I applied to - both because I had a flat-B average putting me right in the middle of my class, which when combined with my scores made me seem lazy, and also because I was whiny emo prick at the time. Point being, those grades and scores would have greatly enhanced my chances of getting into schools if I'd stayed at public school in southern California -but because I was at Exeter, excellence wasn't anything special.I hope that answers your question and perhaps others.

What are the dorms at Phillips Exeter Academy like?

There are about 10 boys' and 10 girls' dorms on campus. They're made of brick, and, sometimes, covered in ivy. About 30-60 students live in each dorm, and each dorm has a common room, a laundry room, a storage room (where you put your things over the summer), and a basement hangout area. You will probably live in a one- or two-room double your first year. (However, there are some three-room doubles, which feature two bedrooms and a little study room in the middle.) Then, depending on which dorm you're in, you can move into a larger, better room -- possibly even a single. Here's a common room:Here are Langdell, Merril and Wheelwright (girls' dorms)Here's Soule Hall (boys' dorm)Here's the inside of a room (it looks like a single or second room of a one-room double):from Go girls: Rosebud students attend elite Eastern prep school for fellowship And, just for fun, here's our library:Want to know more?
