If you were aware of the first plane hitting the tower before the second one, what were your thoughts about it during the brief period between the two attacks?
I was just sitting down to drink coffee, and watch Good Morning America (my daily morning routine). I turned on the TV and as soon as the picture came to the screen I saw the first plane hit the North Tower. I tried to turn the channel thinking I was looking at a movie channel so I hit #2 on the remote and the channel didn’t change, I was on the right channel already. I went to another local news channel and saw the same thing only now the tower had the crashed plane burning inside it, switched to yet another local news channel and saw the same thing, then went back to Good Morning America.That’s when it sunk in that this was really happening. Watching the burning plane the phone rang. I answered it while my eyes and thoughts were fixated on the TV. It was a guy I was dating, Scott… He was a piolet for Midwest Airlines. He was talking, telling me that he was ready for take off, when they were told to wait and he was just sitting there in Ohio waiting for the go. I was still staring at the TV, and told him that a plane just flew into the north tower of the World Trade Center… As I was saying this the other plane hit the south tower. I know I must have said “Oh my God,” and gave Scott an account of the second plane hitting the south tower. I told him how the news was suggesting that the north tower was going to collapse. Then it collapsed and watching it took my breath away. I kept informing Scott from one account to the next what was happening. When the south tower collapsed I went quiet, and my heart sunk into my stomach. I felt sick. We both sat quiet for a minute, then he said, he had just been grounded indefinitely, which made sense. He assured me he would call later and we hung up.I had afternoon classes at the community college that day , the college had already set up a blood drive and I had to park a half a mile away because there were no parking spaces. The only thing I could think of is that there were going to be so few survivors that the blood being donated wouldn’t likely be of need for this attack. It was heart braking, makes me cry thinking about it now.Funny thing is, it just dawned on me I haven’t watched Good Morning America since. It wasn’t a conscious decision, I just haven’t.
How did the 9/11 planes that crashed manage to fly faster than the Concorde was capable of below 40,000 feet?
A 757 is designed to handle a max speed 350 knots below 25,000 feet. These speeds can be exceeded a little but it is not safe. The specs for a 757 show for that structural failure is likely beyond 390 knots and unavoidable if the plane reaches 420 knots (that is the absolute limit in the best conditions). It is not capable of traveling 530 knots below cruising altitude.Note the above chart ends where it does. There is no "un-structural failure" achieved by going any faster at this altitide. 530 knots is not possible. The Concorde had a limit of 450 knots att this altitude. Could a 757, 767 handle 60 knots beyond what the Concorde was designed to handle? It’s not physically possible. The plane becomes erratic. The wings begin to flutter like a bird. The high pressure pins the flaps and they stop working. Even if a 767 could handle just 400 knots that low it would be an out of control rocket sled to hell.500 knots isn’t possible. Even if a plane could somehow manage to stay intact at 1000 feet traveling 530 knots the flaps and rudders would be pinned by the pressure making it uncontrollable. Only a military grade aircraft could handle that speed and altitude and still be under control.Note the design differences between the two planes. One has a fixed wing connected along the bulk of the fuselage similar to a jet and one has a two bolted wings protruding out. One is built to streamline higher pressures - one is not:A 757 could not safely travel beyond the Concorde's capabilities on its best day. More less a full 60 knots beyond it. If it could that means its capable of withstanding the pressure of mach 2 at cruising altitude. 757s cant handle mach 2.

However, while they were over farmland in Pennsylvania, the passengers teamed up and forced the hijackers to crash there. Everyone on board was killed, but they probably prevented even greater casualties had the terrorists succeeded. Why did the twin towers collapse when the MUCH OLDER Empire State Building withstood a direct hit from a B-25?
I find the answers to this question amazing because the people answering it are so uninformed, outside of America, most people believe it was an inside job. Our leaders are puppets, their masters are the people who own the big global corporations and banks. If you don't believe your media is control, you need a reality check, you really are dumbed down! It is a FACT that, 90% of US Media (and that of the most powerfull Western nations) is owned by no more than four international corporations. Conspiracies do exist. The Roman Empire was built around conspiracies. The British Empire was built around conspiracies. THe French Empire was built around conspiracies. THe Soviet Empire was built around conspiracies. Many of these conspiracies are now known about - but at the time few people would have guessed what was really going on. Ok, I said I do appreciate all your answers and I do, but to the people who answered something like "2 planes hit them, duh!"Ok, i'm not stupid, I know, but you guys are the ones who are because you are obviously not informed about the steelwork and frames of the structures. They were built a certain way to were architects said they couldn't collapse basically. There was science behind it and that was my question, thank you. I may not be correct though because it is a controversy, but that's why I'm asking.
Does jet fuel get hot enough to melt the steel engines of its airplanes if caught on fire?
Used to travel a Highway that was the main road to a SHELL OIL 'tank depot'. Every few years or so some unwary tanker driver would go down an embankment and his load would burn. These tankers are constructed primarily of Aluminium with steel axles and hubs. After one of these fires (VERY INTENSE) all that would be left of the trailer were the steel bits and a puddle of molten aluminium. Some of the steel parts might be warped but they did not melt.

I'm going with Woof's answer on this. something to really think about: -where is the photos of a plane hitting the pentagon? -where is the video footage of a plane hitting the pentagon? -in a perfect air:fuel ratio how hot does jet fuel burn and how hot does steel need to be in order to melt? -the building designers designed the twin towers to withstand jetliners hitting the buildings -why was there molten steel still hot days after the twin towers came down? -why did fire fighters say in interviews that they hear explosions at the ground level of the twin towers? -just how does debris make it's way to twc7 to take down that building when it's down the street? -was wtc7 scheduled for demolition or not? -why was the BBC broadcasting live that the wtc7 building had collapsed, when it was still standing in the live background footage behind the reporter??? youtube search: bbc wtc7
