Are pugs good with toddlers?

Pugs are fairly sturdy, and generally are great with toddlers. Be prepared, though, for your toddler to get knocked over when your pug gets rambunctious. You might want to consider checking into a pug rescue instead of looking for a puppy. Pug rescue groups are in pretty much every state, and they know the temperaments of their dogs. Therefore, no surprises. From my experience, rescue groups are perfect for getting exactly the kind of dog you need to best fit your family!

Best of luck to you, I'm sure you'll find a great dog.

Is TV good or bad for a toddler?

Hi,Its a very common sight seen in most household, Television being on when the child or the family sits for a meal. But TV time needs to be controlled and monitored accordingly. Children below two are not yet completely ready for TV time, but probably half hr a day would be sufficient. For children above two, may be an hour a day would be enough. I found many interesting tips and suggestions on healthy parenting skills and discussion in this app called, Parentlane. Here is the link goo.gl/L83QvDHope this helps!

Is v8 juice good for my 18 month old toddler?

I remember reading the label on a jug of V8 juice. I can't remember if it was not-from-concentrate, but I do remember reading SALT in the ingredient list. Why does juice need added salt? Salt is a preservative, but its also bad for you.

Also, juice is VERY concentrated. It takes 3 - 3.5 oranges to make a 6 oz. glass of OJ. Would you eat 3.5 oranges in one sitting? No, yet that is how many calories and sugar you are consuming when you have a glass of OJ. Furthermore, an 18 month old's kidneys cannot handle such concentrated liquids very well, which is why it is recommended to water down juices for infants and toddlers.

No, the V8 juice isn't "bad" for your toddler (pop and Kool-Aid would be worse) but eating the actual vegetable would be better.

Edited:
Don't cut her off milk as that is very important and healthy for her, however, cutting out juice and snacky-type food is simple. YOU are the one who buys it and gives it to her. You CAN stop doing that altogether. She won't dehydrate to death because you don't give her juice or starve to death because she's holding out for cheese strings. As long as she's offered food, she will be fine. I'm surprised the doctor didn't tell you this. Leave it up to her to eat when she's ready, but do insist she sit at the table during mealtimes (because to get up and leave while people are still eating is rude) and offer her only healthy food options. If she doesn't want it, fine, don't turn it into a struggle, but absolutely DO NOT cave in with the cookies and treats when she's hungry and refusing pasta with meat sauce. Keep offering the good stuff. She will eat it eventually. She will not starve to death with a piece of chicken in front of her. No, you are not a terrible mom for having a hungry child wanting cookies instead of chicken. We all go through that. Heck, most adults would rather grab a bag of chips or heat up a frozen dinner over making a salad and grilled chicken from scratch, but we all know that the former will not fill us up (or fill us up with salt and preservatives) and the latter is much healthier for us.

Eating right needs to be taught and you can't teach good food choices if you constantly make sugars and zero-nutrition foods an option.

What is the best pet for a toddler?

If you want to get a pet for a toddler, you are responsible for the animals well being, not only that, but a child should always be supervised when an animal is near, not only for the safety of the animal but for the safety of the child too. A dog can get too excited around the child and trample them(depending on the breed, some are quite hyper by nature while other are more calm and better around children). If the child pulls a cats tail or bites it or something, the cat by all means will turn around and defend itself. You could get a Golden Retriever, they are smart dogs and as far as I’ve seen, pretty decent with children. Although, if you aren’t willing to take care of the dog most likely on your own and supervise it around the toddler, then don’t bother getting one. The animal should be something both you and the child will enjoy together.

Which kind of mattress is good for infants and toddlers?

Infants needs a firm mattress so as to avoid suffocation and lower the risk of sids. It's not recommended to place an infant on a pillow top or mattress with a topper. A toddler should probably also sleep on a firm mattress but after a year old the risk of SIDS is much lower so use your judgement on this. A younger toddler who isn't able to quickly change positions if needed should be put to sleep on their backs on a firm mattress just like you would an infant as I have heard of 15 month old dying of SIDS. An older toddler (over 2) who is walking well and can quickly change positions and get up without assistance can be put to sleep on a softer mattress. As always use your judgement as it relates to your specific child. This is general advice.
