How High Was This Cheerleader Thrown

A cheerleader is thrown into the air. She is in the air for a total of 2.0 seconds.?

The top of her motion is where v = 0.

She takes one second to go up, and one second to go down. So for a), just ask yourself how much initial velocity you need to have to go to 0 m/sec in 1 second. Hint: g = 9.8 m/sec^2. The velocity changes by 9.8 m/sec in one second.

I'm using v = vi + at, but you don't actually need to do any calculation for this.

b) Easiest to use the information that she takes one second to fall from the maximum height. d = (1/2)at^2. Plug in a and t.

Cross country vs cheerleading? Which one is more difficult at a high school level?(:?

Personally I believe cheerleading is harder. Or at least it is at my school. Every school is different when it comes to sports. At my cheerleading practices we do run at least 3 miles without breaks or anything. We have to memorize cheers, routines, dances. Then there is tumbling and stunting. We cheer at outside at football games in hot humid weather, rain, snow, sleet, and as long as the football team is playing we are cheering. Plus in the middle of whatever weather we have to endure we smile and act happy. And then there is also cheerleading competitions. I think I lose a year of my life after all that hairspray. And during games, pep rallys, and competitions while we cheer, we have to wear tiny little skirts. We have to look pretty while we work as hard as we can. So personally I believe cheerleading is harder. But that's just my opinion

Help on the cheerleading cradle? For flyers?

You need to ask your coach how (s)he wants you to to do them, but a lot of people pull up to a touch down for the ride, then slap their thighs at the top, then open to a low V as they reach their bases for the catch.

There are some other cradle tips and drills here that might help you: http://aescougarcheer.com/Cheer101/stunt...

Which is more active, cheerleading or softball?

Which is more active, cheerleading or softball? If I had to pick the sport you have to be more active between cheerleading or softball, it would definitely be… cheerleading! So, why cheerleading? I'll make the case for you because one I've done and I miss doing so much and the other I'm currently in-person.CHEERLEADING:In cheerleading, your constantly moving. Your constantly switching between tumbling, dancing, yelling, stunting, running and if you are a flyer…getting thrown into the air or posing. You are constantly switching muscle groups and what you are doing for a good 3 or 4 minutes and it's constant through that entire time. Plus you might have several routines throughout the day and weekend if you are doing competitive cheer.SOFTBALL:Softball requires you to be active. But you are doing your activities in spurts. If your team is on offense, you hit the ball and run to first. If you make it, you stand there and catch your composure while the next girl comes to the plate. You watch the signs and if you are given the sign to steal (if rules allow) run to second if you have the opportunity. If you have to wait, wait till the ball is in play. If caught, run back to your base or if the opportunity arises, advance. You do that through each base or there's three outs. On defense, some positions require you to be more athletic. Like catcher, pitcher, second base, short stop and the outfield. Pitcher is trying to throw the ball as hard as she can underhanded. Catcher is constantly up and down. She has to run down foul balls or passed balls and wild pitches. She's blocking balls in the dirt. She's trying to block the plate when she has the ball and the baserunning is trying to get past her. Second and short is constantly running down balls, diving for balls and throwing to respective bases trying to get runners. Outfielders has the most territory to run down balls. But all that is in spurts.Cheer gets the nod for me because everything you do is so constant and there is just so much opportunity for injury.

What is better: Gymnastics, Cheerleading, or Dance?

BTW mine is cheer. At my school the cheer team and the dance team are rivals. Dance goes to Florida for championships, and Cheer goes to california. The cheer team is alot harder than dance.

Ive done all three and gymnastics was great, and i rocked at floor and sucked at everything else execpt beam so i just started cheer!
