“When I Have Fears” ends with an expression of the speaker’s…?
Many of these questions are unanswerable, because either there is more than one possible answer, or else none of the answers is really correct. And there are far too many for a single question; two or three subquestions is about as much as most of us will accept on a single thread. My guess is that the answers your teacher wants are: C ; D ; A ; A None of these answers is actually correct, but they are probably better than the alternatives. The question about She Walks in Beauty is completely unanswerable, since none of the alternatives offered is even close to correct.
Why are musicians more popular than poets?
Two reasons I can think of. Music is more accessible than poetry and affects us emotionally at a deeper level. Most musicians play their music better than most poets perform their poetry. Poets seem to have adopted a “poetry” voice which doesn’t sound quite human to me - they read their own poetry as though they don’t understand it and add a ponderous quality to something which, in writing, is beautifully expressed. I love poetry, as long as I am reading it quietly to myself. In general I don’t like to hear poets read it. I love to hear musicians playing their own music.
The best love poems no one ever heard of [ plzzz help me ]?
-Romance my Rapture- I've fallen completely in rapture! Whatever shall I do? My heart, is held, so in capture! Whenever eyes see you! My love is the purest romance and surely my soul will dance! I love you my darling one true love so kiss me as stars twinkle above! I cannot breathe do not deceive this fragile heart of mine! You cannot believe nor even conceive this love we feel is divine! Oh take me in your arms my sweet or I shall surely die! Oh make me your lucky charm I plead and never ask me why! Never ever leave me ... for my mind would fall into fracture! Forever and ever we'd be ... in love, true, romancing our rapture! By another "Nanny" ... "Romance my Rapture" ... is already a book of Private Poetry by this Poetess! Yet ... no one ever heard of ... My romantic love poems ... that I do so here confess!!!
B.. Can a fluent spanish speaker please translate this poem into english for me? 10 really easy points..?
This is a very old poem, with words that is difficult. For example (*) Taita, is a word used by very old ***** slaves that came to the coast of south america, Taita means father or can also be used as a warm expression when you refer to you grandfather. Now the word negrero, is referred to someone that take advantage of people and treat them bad. The best way of translating it was to put the one who hate negroes. Because this poem is referrend to the times of slavery when the negroes arrived in ships to the coasts of the lands conquered by spaniards. When they talk about the canes, they refer to sugar canes because in those fields the slaves were used to work in. When referred to a strong voice breaking the silence, they are talking about the slaves that after a day of working, they use to sing going back to their huts, at dark and also when the day was begining, at dawn. The names fEderico y Facundo are the names of the grandfathers the peot remember and "join" them together in his dreams. when slaves arrived in the coast they were separated, many of them never seen their families again, but they always kept the hope that in one way or another they will be reunited. I know about this, I am from Peru and this poem just made me remember the very old histories about the slaves that were taken from Africa to the coasts of Peru to work in the sugar cain fields. What of ships, what of ships! What of negroes, what of negroes? What a long radiance of canes! What a whip the one who hate negroes Stone of cry and blood Veins and eyes partially open, and empty dawns, and sunsets of ingenuity and a great voice, strong voice breaking down the silence. What of ships, what of ships, what of negroes! Shadows that I can only see, scorted by my two grandfathers. Mr Federico yell at me and Taita(*) Facundo remain in silence; Both dream in the night and walk, walk I put them together. -Federico! -Facundo Both hug each other. Both sighed. the two strong heads rise up Both of the same height Under the high stars, both of the same size black and white anxious Both of them of the same size Yelling, dreaming, crying, singing Dreaming, crying, singing, Crying, singing Singing!
Can anyone explain visions of Johana by Bob Dylan?
Ain't it just like the night to play tricks when you're tryin' to be so quiet? We sit here stranded, though we're all doin' our best to deny it And Louise holds a handful of rain, temptin' you to defy it Lights flicker from the opposite loft In this room the heat pipes just cough The country music station plays soft But there's nothing, really nothing to turn off Just Louise and her lover so entwined And these visions of Johanna that conquer my mind In the empty lot where the ladies play blindman's bluff with the key chain And the all-night girls they whisper of escapades out on the "D" train We can hear the night watchman click his flashlight Ask himself if it's him or them that's really insane Louise, she's all right, she's just near She's delicate and seems like the mirror But she just makes it all too concise and too clear That Johanna's not here The ghost of 'lectricity howls in the bones of her face Where these visions of Johanna have now taken my place Now
