How Likely You Would Get Caught Driving If

What happens if i'm caught driving after curfew?

Well I live in Naperville Illinois and they are constantly changing curfews and all the rules along with it so it's confusing, personally I think it is dumb becuase they don't release some people need to drive after 11. First when you go driving that night just be extra careful with your driving making sure your doing everything right because then you wont get pulled over and busted for curfew. If you do get pulled over you will probably get a ticket or a formal warning for what you go pulled over for and then the curfew thing. But I think for curfew if your heading home they would probably just warn you and just be like I am so sorry it was compeletely my mistake and say you lost track of time and still needed to get home thats why your out late. At the most I would think you would get a ticket, but if theyre nice probably just a warning. Hopefully.

How likely is it I will get caught driving while my license is suspended?

The likelihood of getting caught will definitely increase the more you disregard/pretend you’re even supposed to be going anywhere near a car on a suspended license. Especially if you continue to do whatever you did to get it suspended in the first place. As it ASLO increases the likelihood of you cutting and running like a coward if you cause an accident.…..at least if accidents involving drivers with revoked/suspended licenses in my town are anything to go by.To be honest it would be much smarter if you actually took the hint that you’re not supposed to be driving on a suspended license, and found another way to get around that did not involve pushing your luck on the issue thereby minimizing any possible legal/financial risk to you and/or any likely physical risk to other drivers.

What happens if you are caught driving alone with just your permit?

You will be cited for unlicensed or breach of conditions. The penalties can vary based on location, fines up to loss of permit and some length of ban.If the officer chooses, he can require a valid driver drive the vehicle away, or tow it if no driver can be summoned. The level of lenience is not dependent on jurisdiction, but on other factors.Small town cops, where the cop knows your dad, and you are 2 blocks from home will often wave you on with a citation or warning. In a big city, where you are nowhere near your destination, you’ll likely see less leniency.

What are the chances I'll get caught driving without a license when I'm a good driver?

Bicycling there makes a lot more sense if there is no freeway to be driven, and if there is freeway to be driven you should not even be thinking about making the drive.

This is a good learning situation because you will have to make these decisions all the time over the next 60 years or so. When I worked in aviation I often observed "the hills are littered with people who 'had to fly'." The same is true of driving; we can increase the risk to ourselves enormously by putting ourselves in situations that carry abnormal risk.

How much risk is there? We can estimate it by making some simple assumptions - that this drive is a fairly typical day's driving, with typical hazards. As a new driver - good driver or not, you are inexperienced - you have a 60% chance of getting into an accident this first year on the road. That means on the average you have about a 1 in 600 chance of having an accident if you make the drive. If you are in an accident... well, I think you can figure out how that will go. The insurance won't pay because you are not a licensed driver and they may cancel the insurance.

A guiding principle I use when making safety decisions is how I will explain my actions if things take a bad turn. The police are not the issue, lawyers are... everything is a technicality until something goes wrong. In situations like this if there is a condition for which you would call 911 and the 911 operator's advice is to drive a victim somewhere even if you have only a permit, do it. Otherwise, you are likely to be asked, "what were you thinking?"

Talk this over at dinner with your parents. They will be proud you made the right choice.

Should we have harsher penalties for those caught driving drunk?

I think yes, too many convicted people are repeat offenders, and logic says they were very likely habitual drunk drivers. They do impose medical tests on alcoholics, some of them effectively cannot get their licences back

What is the situation if you get caught drunk driving when you don't have a license?

You would face punishment for both the charge of driving under the influence and the charge of driving without a license. Expect that you would face harsher penalties than a typical drunk driver would face and expect it to take many years to be able to get a driver’s license again. Beyond criminal penalties expect it to be difficult to find a job after completing your likely prison sentence.

What happens if you get caught driving without a driver's license if you're under 18?

Well, you would presumably (in the UK) get caught as a result of some incident on the road. As you are committing an offence the vehicle owner's insurance would be invalid and the owner will have to show he did not aid and abet you, or he's in for paying up for the incident along with you. Since you are not insured the vehicle road tax is invalid, that's another offence. A vehicle which is unroadworthy could add a bit of zest to the charges you will face. You will be hard pressed, as an under age and inexperienced driver, to show the incident wasn't entirely your fault. In extremis, depending on the incident which resulted in your apprehension and depending also upon your status you could be imprisoned and deported afterwards. There is a high probability that you will not be permitted to hold a driving licence in the UK for some years even after you are of age.A little alcohol in the blood stream, and a touch of one or other of the hard drugs as well, with a stash in the car to sell to your friends and you could really make a Police Officer's day. After all, if you're going to play the fool, go the whole hog!

What happens if you get caught driving without a driver's license but still have a permit?

Well I'm assuming you're speaking about a Learners permit. The outcome will not be favorable. Now if it's the temporary permit they give you while you're waiting for the permanent license then your ok. You'll most likely just get cited for whatever offence you committed that led to you being pulled over.If on the other hand if it's a Learners permit and your a minor or have a criminal history then your in for a world of hurt. You will get cited for driving against the restrictions on your permit, plus the original offence you got pulled over for, plus they will call your parents or legal guardians, plus you may get the car impounded. If your lucky, the cop might allow a family member or friend with a valid driver's license to come and get the car. If you have some other kind of criminal history or any warrants you will get arrested. Now for the aftermath:Lots of money in fines. They will revoke your permit and it will be very difficult, costly and time consuming to get it back. The whole arrest and jail aspect and the added embarrassment of finding someone willing to bail you out of jail.Realization that it all could have been avoided.Much higher insurance premiums.Need I say more? This is NEVER a good idea.
