How Long Does Us Visa Administrative Processing Take

Administrative processing on US visa. How long does it take and anyone has experience this?

So this morning I had an interview with US embassy, the officer gave me a 221(g) white form stating that they need to further review my DS 160 form. This afternoon, the consulate send me an email saying that my application for non immigrant visa is still undergoing additional administrative processing, however they don't need anymore additional information from me or from anyone else, they are just waiting for the paperwork to go through. They said they just don't know how much longer the process might take it.
So anyone has ever experience this before? how long does it take for them to process my visa application? and by saying they don't need any additional information from me or anyone else, does that mean its purely because of paperwork?
oh fyi, i'm renewing for US visa class B1/B2.
thanks

How long does it take for administrative processing for an F1 visa? (the consular officer confidently told me 2-3 business days when was I interviewed, but looking at online forums, it seems like it takes forever, and it has made me terrified)

It could take a very long time - even years in some rare cases. The reason is that “administrative processing” is really a security review. What’s happening is that the consulate sent your passport to a USCIS office to check for any adverse security concerns. And that’s where the problems can start…If your name or associations or travels happen to include anything that might be of concern, they need to check it out. That’s easy if its just a name that is the same as something else in the database that they can quickly check. Not so easy if the name is something reported by another country, so that USCIS has to ask them for clarification. Then they have to wait for the agency in that country to respond. Sometimes quick, sometimes very slow. And maybe their response is that they got the information for someone else……oh my….more waiting. So, MOST times it is pretty quick. MOST times USCIS just does a quick check in the database, stamps the visa as approved, and sends it back. IF something pops up that requires information from another agency, MOST of the time it’s resolved within a couple weeks. But, there are exceptions, and that’s when it can take a very long time.

How long is the C1/D US visa administrative processing?

Most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of the visa interview. When administrative processing is required, the timing will vary based on individual circumstances of each case. The US consulate is seeking more time to evaluate the application and may need additional documentation to reach a decision. Visa applicants are always reminded to apply early for their visa, well in advance of the anticipated travel date.Sit back and wait to be notified by the USCIS about the next appointment. Do not contact them unless you hear back from them.

How long it does take 221 (g) administrative processing ?

I had an interview for L class visa on May 23 2008. But after interview I was given a white paper with above clause 221 (g). They said, if they did not call with in 60 days, than I should call them. But validity of my I-797 was till June 20, 2008. What will be the results in these case. Can anybody help ?

How long does it take to clear administrative processing for a B1/B2 visa?

There is no such time bound rule to get the B1/B2 VISA. Normally it’s takes 2–7 days to process your application. If you get any slips during the interview from VO then it might take more time get the Visa. Also if you status of the application in Process for more then more week than its a black hole!! You never know when you gonna receive the your stamped passport. In such cases Most of the time Consulates will share your data with DC head quarter to verify that you are not a threat to US. Once it clears if you will be notified to get a stamped Visa. Sometime they request for police clearance certificate from local police station.

US Visa... Administrative Processing advice!!!?

We decided to go with applying for the Visa through the US Consulate here in Costa Rica. If you remember, my wife is from Michigan, and I am from Argentina.

Everything in the process went smoothly, until our final interview. They said our financial sponsor did not meet the financial requirements. When I told the officer I had a job lined up in the states (as an associate pastor at a church in Michigan), he said "Bring a letter from the church, and if everything looks good, you´ll have the visa in a week.I did.

A few days later they called us and said that my visa needs to go through administrative processing. They said there is no estimate on how long it will take and no guarantees that I will get it. They said it ¨should¨ take anywhere from 30 to 60 days, but again. No guarantees.

To make matters worse, they told us that I cannot enter the US with my current Tourist Visa (expires in 2019). They said I most likely wont be allowed to enter, and that the process will be held back for years.

We are extremely concerned. My wife is traveling to the US next week, and is getting ready to enter her third trimester in her pregnancy (where she cant fly). We cant afford to have the baby in Costa Rica. Once she is in the US, there is a good posibility if my visa is delayed (or rejected), I will not be able to see the birth of my child. She would be in the US.. and myself in Costa Rica.

We dont know what to do. We need advice. Should we just wait? Should we call Stephanie´s congressman? Would this help at all? You have no idea how much it would mean for us to get advice from you in this regards.

Thank you!

Is administrative processing a visa denial?

“Is administrative processing a visa denial?”Technically, yes, it’s a denial under INA § 221(g), usually because the applicant failed to provide a required document or because other information needed to determine if the applicant can be approved is not available to the consular officer at the time of the interview. This form of denial is typically temporary and can be subsequently overcome when whatever information that was necessary for the visa to be approved, but was not available at the time of the original interview, is made available to the consular official, either by the applicant or by a third party. The reason that this approach is used is that the law requires that every application be either approved or denied at the time of the interview. There is no option for “We’ll get back to you later” and so the solution is to use a reversible form of denial. Technically, of course, all visa denials are reversible, but some are more reversible than others.

How much time does the administrative processing take for a Tourist visa to U.S from Dubai Consulate?

I had an interview in U.S Consulate in Dubai last week that I was applying for a tourist visa and I have got the yellow paper that my visa approval is pending for some administrative process. How much time does it take to get approved? They said in the website that the process will take from 4 to 6 months. Does it require that much time ?

Will the U.S. consulate reuse the U.S. visa administrative processing results for another visa application? When do the administrative processing results expire?

A slight correction to Amit's answer. USCIS does not issue 221(g) administrative processing documents. U.S. Consulates and Embassies do.It really is up to the discretion of the U.S. Consulate/Embassy immigration officer whether or not an applicant will be subject to the 221(g) the next time he or she applies. I've seen some applicants become subject every time and have to wait several weeks or months to obtain their visa stamp. I've seen others who were subject to 221(g) one time and did not have issues the next time they applied.*I am not an attorney*Cheers,Jackie from bridge.us
