Do you think the Bradley Amendment needs to be reformed or repealed?
Um...Thanks cristinakidd69. Understand this....kay? I personally think that the Amendment should be reformed, more importantly, I think it should be more specifically written to accomodate for instances like this. I'm absolutely sure this isn't the only case where this has happened. Let's be realistic. Ideally my point is this...I'm not arguing on behalf of keeping it the same, totally reforming it or taking it off the books because I think it IS a good amendment to have. However, I don't think it's okay for men, who may be facing situations like this, to be arrested for something they could not really help. I hope a case where the father is being unjustly arrested for something similar to this gets taken to the US supreme court, or at least the state court....That way there is a chance that the Amendment will not only be made stronger, but more fair and understanding when it comes to particular situations and circumstances. Understand? All I asked was for opinions.

President and Vice President: how is the Vice President nominated?
The Presidential nominee picks whoever they want. Sometimes they pick one of the people who were running against them for the Presidential nomination. Like Kerry picked Edwards in 2004. But most of the time they don't. Like Gore chose Lieberman instead of Bradley in 2000, even though Bradley had been running for President and Lieberman hadn't. And Bush chose Cheney instead of McCain in 2000, even though McCain had been running for President and Cheney hadn't. Sometimes they pick someone because that person is popular (which is why Kerry picked Edwards). Sometimes they pick someone because that person comes from a state that they want to win in the general election. Sometimes they pick someone because that person is strong in an area where they're weak. That's why Gore picked Lieberman in 2000, because Lieberman is respectable, and is strong on foreign policy. And very rarely, they pick someone because they actually think they'd make a good Vice President. That's why Bush picked Cheney. It's too soon to tell who any of the candidates would pick for their Vice Presidential nominee.

Why do top Democrats hate gay marriage so much?
I know what point you're trying to make, but you used the word "hate" in the present tense, when the reality is that those Democrats "hateD" gays back in 1996, not now. You could also point out the fact that gay SEX itself was banned by the laws of all 50 states as of about 53 years ago, and certainly that legal phenomenon could not be attributed to just one party either. But the merit in your point is that Democrats change their mind, and portray Republicans as being bigots *now* just because Republicans don't change their minds as quickly and as easily.
