How Long Should An Ap World History Report Be

Is a B in AP World History good?

I got my grade report today, and I have a B in AP World History. Of course, my parents are really strict and they want to see A's or I'm basically grounded. Should I drop the class while I have the chance or go with it?

Should I drop AP World History?

I am an sophomore in high school, and I'm taking an AP World History class. Right now, it seems like I'll probably get an B in the class. Although it's very time consuming, I don't really want to drop it because I like being challenged and I heard the regular history class is extremely easy and boring. But I'm also planning on going to a really good college, such as Ivy League schools or UC Berkley or something similar to that, and I'm afraid that a B will look bad on my transcript. Should I drop the class or not?

(And I'm also concerned with my other classes. Last year, people who did well in this class got a lot of B's in other classes. I'm taking all honor classes, and so far I've been able to easily pull off A's in all my other classes, but I find that I'm spending considerably less time on everything else than I did last year and I don't want AP World to affect my other grades.)

Should i drop AP World History?

either way, you end up with a 'mark' on your transcript.

You took AP History because you have bought in to the whole "must take AP classes in order to get into any good college: no good college will accept me without AP classes" thing that you lost sight of the purpose of college. Now you have to face the consequences.

you dont like to memorize facts: well, that is not what history is about. History is being able to assemble, integrate and analyze facts into a larger structural whole, which then leads to a more comprehensive understanding of the interplay between the economic, political and social structures that either influenced or were influenced by any particular person or group of persons, in the context of the time and place.

So, the issue is that you wanted to 'get the credential' and now that you have found that it is something that does not interest you, and that you are not doing well at, you want to quit. I cannot make that choice for you, but honestly, quit this, and you will 'allow' yourself to do so again in the future.

Help with AP World History??

I have to write 1-2 paragraphs. this is the question:
Discuss the relationship between geography and the development of civilizations by picking a geographical feature and making an argument as to what specific characteristic of a given society that geographic feature influenced. Be sure to consider whether or not the society developed in a certain way as a result of a negative stimulus provided by the geographic environment, or if the convenience of a specific geographic feature was a more positive influence.

what is it asking me to do?? im totally confused?

How do you grade AP World History?

If you got a 41/70, assuming you did not omit the other 29. You got 41 correct, 29 wrong, and omitted 0. You get a quarter point off for every one you get off. So you do 1/4 times 29 which is 7.25. That will be subtracted from 41. 41-7.25=33.75, which is 34 (they round). 34 is your raw score. The Ap test is curved so it depends on how the students do that year. A raw score of 35 is a 3 or passing score and you got a 34 so that would be a 2.

Failing AP World History class...?

As of right now I have a 69 in my ap world history class. At my school they add on 10 points so on my report card it'll show as a 79. For my gpa it'll still look like I failed though.I know that .5 will be added to my class gpa but it'll cause my overall gpa to be a 2.7 and usually my gpa is around a 3.4-3.6! Is it possible to atleast bring my grade to a 74 within 6 weeks and if I don't will many colleges not accept me in the future just because of that one class?
Also I've only made A's and B's my whole life so this would be my first bad grade.... Any help is appreciated! thanks. :)
