Why did Edge retire from WWE?
Edge's neck was broken during a match more than 8 years ago and Edge had Spinal Fusion Aurgery to fuse several discs in his Cervical Spine. Don't think this is unusual, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, Shawn Michaels, Chris Benoit and Lita are among the wrestlers that have had Spinal Fusion Surgery in the last 15 years. In fact, it was about 15 Years ago, that I watch Owen Hart accidentally piledrive Stone Cold Steve Austin directly on his Spinal Column which began the Spinal Issues that haunt Steve Austin to this very day. Getting back to Edge, when his neck was broken Edge had surgery and was out of action for almost a year. As Edge said in his own words last month, he knew at that point that his days as a Professional Wrestler were numbered. After Wrestlemania XXVII, Edge had an MRI and there was so much deterioration of Edge's Central Nervous System and numbness and tingling that he was told that he could no longer wrestle. World Wrestling Entertainment was faced with the prospect that if Edge wrestled another match, he could be paralyzed and bed ridden the rest of his life or could even die in the ring. If Edge had wrestled Alberto Del Rio in The Ladder Matrch the WWE Booking Team had booked him for, that would have been the end of Edge in more ways than one. We should be grateful that the Physicians diagnosed Edge's Physical Condition before he died in the ring.
