How Long Will Dead Animal Smell Go Away Its Under My Deck And I See Files And Beetles In And Out

How to use lime to get rid of dead animal smell?I'm not sure what to do! PEW!?

I read that lime will get rid of dead animal smell. Had a dead possum under the front porch, after MUCH effort got him out but the smell is lingering! I got some lime and tried to pour some where the possum was(its hard to access) but I don't know how much does the trick. Does the lime have to be right on "the spot"? Any advise is appreciated as I am desperate to get rid of this smell!!!!

How long does a dead skunk smell like skunk?

I'm talking about the smell of the liquid that they spray in defense from their anal glands. I have been passing a dead skunk daily, for about 2 weeks, and it still smells strongly.

Do people kill sea sponges to use them as bathroom sponges?

I am looking to buy a new sponge and am looking at getting a natural sea sponge. What I would like to know though, is how they get the sponges. Do they kill them then take them out of the ocean or wait for them to die then take them? Also, how would you know when it's dead? Can you tell? I would hate to be using a live sponge to wash myself and I'm pretty sure the sponge would hate it too. Thanks

How do you keep roaches off of an outside deck? ?

I live in the south near many hardwoods and every night my back deck is crawling with hundreds of large brown roaches. Does anyone know of any way to control this problem? Is there something I can put along the outside base of the deck that will deter them from being on the deck? TIA

What is the one life experience that made you mature significantly?

5 years ago, I went through a divorce as my wife ran away with her ex-boyfriend. I was devastated and looking for some companionship or happiness. As I was a teetotaler, I didn't have the confidence to ask women out in bars as I rarely visited them. Libraries were full of old women while I was still in late 20s.I started going to strip clubs which I had never done before. Somehow I had an idealistic view of marriage and relationships where I really agreed with “Till death do us apart" until my ex wife made me realize the brutal truth about human beings and life. However, the dark ambience of those places combined with a marketplace for flesh infested with desperate guys was never to my liking. So, I started hiring escorts. I was making pretty decent six figure salary in NYC. So, a thousand bucks a month was manageable for me. Mostly, they would come and get down straight to business. Sometimes, I tried to strike meaningful conversations with some of them but except for one nobody else was able to appreciate my thoughts.I still remember that woman. She was originally from Bulgaria and always offered to help me put on my socks even though I avoided that as I considered it demeaning to her as a human being. When I told her about my sad life and my self loathing thoughts, she told me the most important lesson in my life. She said: If you want others to like/love you, you should love yourself first. Positive people generate a positive vibe while negativity does the opposite.Honestly, I used to have a lot of meaningful conversations with her and I used to joke to her sometimes that we should live on an isolated island where I hunt for food while she manages our house in the jungle.Coming back to the point, she disappeared all of a sudden after 6 months but the lesson she taught me made me a better person.I managed to improve my health drastically, started socializing more and became more open about my shortcomings that I used to hide earlier. While Didn't remarry, I became a much more content person. Instead of spending money on carnal pleasures, I spend it on my own personal improvement.I sometimes wonder that perhaps there is a reason that many people like Buddha and Jesus had meaningful relationships with prostitutes. Probably those women have risen beyond the levels of temptation that still affects normal human beings and having met a diverse set of people can easily empathize with everyone equally.

How long can ants survive underwater?

I am neither an entomologist nor a scientist, but I confess to being a recent drowner of ants. I thought it would be a quick death for them, but boy was I wrong. The killing of the ants went down like this: I was cleaning our (in ground) pool using both a net for leaves and a brush for dirt. But we only have one pole, so when I was finished with using the net I removed it from the pole, tossed it on the ground, and inserted the brush attachment. When I completed brushing the pool, I went back to collect the net, which I noticed was partly on grass and partly on the pool deck, so I could empty it. Immediately I could see that it was crawling with ants, and within seconds there were six or seven of the critters on me.Even though I got about three "bites" I emptied the net into the nearby trash, and then I threw the net attachment, ants and all, into the pool. For several minutes I watched as ants scurried around under the net, clearly disoriented by the water but otherwise apparently doing fine. After about five minutes I saw the first one expire and float to the top. In the next five minutes a few more died, but most of them were still quite active. Fifteen minutes into my vigil I decided to go take a shower, vowing to then come back and check on my victims. But I forgot, got caught up in other activities, and didn't return to the scene of the drownings for slightly more than two hours. You guessed it -- there were still ants living and moving "under the sea."So my answer is: not terribly long for some ants, moderately long for others, pretty darn long for a few, and longer than you might imagine in any case.

How long can a black widow spider live without food?

It would be very hard to determine how long it would live without food. But you can tell when it is getting close to starvation by the shape of its abdomen. It will begin to shrink and will lose its luster. Black widows are good for getting rid of other insects as long as you can keep them in a place that people don't frequent. Also a place where children "never"go.

How long does it take a rodent carcass to decompose to the point that it doesn't smell anymore?

Several years ago I has a boss who put out poison to get rid of critters in the attic. Unfortunately what ever it was (possum?) died just above my office. It was either keep working or lose the job so I managed through it, but a couple of those weeks were really horrid, several others were bad but tolerable and I don't think the smell ever went away.

Since then I have found that the product called Fabreeze seems to work pretty good especially if you can get the spray in the general area of the source. I fortunately have not had a dead critter to use it on, like before, but it has done wonders in lesser situations.
