Where can you go in Vermont for a wilderness adventure?
I recommend all the #4 RDS. Find a dirt road. Follow it. The less traffic the better it gets. Try to go up. Covered Bridges and streams, rivers are a good sign your going nowhere. And nowhere is the best adventure. Bring beer.There's lotsa nowhere roads going up hill here in VT. Even the oldest Vermont can get lost.I was going nowhere a few weeks ago, at night, in a snowstorm. Sterling Rd(?) …we were far from our destination, but we were so high up there in the curvy steep climb of a mountain. We passed a bulldozer and maybe three homes…not a porch light or polluting lumen for miles. As far as my preferred adventures and nature…We were lost, but we were exactly where the universe wanted us.To be in Vermont, in this kinda dumping snow, on a road I do not know … not a soul in sight. But spirit bright.Well…thats my most recent favorite wild.
How does Heady Topper Beer, a local Vermont beer, justify over $15 per 16 ounce 4-pack, has anyone had it ? I have as I live in Vermont, it is hoppy and has a nice taste but very much over-priced, there are better hoppy beers. Has anyone tried it?
You are talking about a small batch beer which has become widely known. The story of the Alchemist brewery is a rocky one due to Hurricane Irene which flooded the Alchemist restaurant. They had just purchased their cannery and were up and running literally a couple days later but you can read all that on their website.It comes down to supply and demand, their rating on beer advocate and ratebrew which has given the brew consistent scores of 100. So like I said, small batch brew which doesn’t distribute very far and has national, nay, international notoriety. I should add to the supply and demand argument a little bit…. When the cannery opened, patrons would line up to buy it, only able to purchase a limited amount. Even restaurants had a hard time getting it and I mean the local ones that were expected to have it available so you might imagine that type of availability would create a buzz and hop heads knowing how difficult it was to get their hands on it would pay an egregious amount of money on it. Stories would spread, patrons buying what they could then driving back to whatever state they were from and selling it for 4 times the amount. Heady Topper became a black market beer. The allure was tantalizing.And I must say…. It is a double IPA, very hoppy, very floral. Many would say that there is no better IPA on the market, that is subjective. It depends on what an individual prefers. Hopheads love it. Some like Focal Banger better, it’s a bit lighter, still an IPA and a tad more forgiving on the ABV front at 7% whereas Heady sits at 8%. Heady gives you a punch in the face when you take your first sip, but you’ll certainly go back for more. I happen to enjoy it very much, but I can only take so much. I make beer at home, I love beer, but Heady Topper is intense and by the time I finish a can I’m ready for something lighter.I live a mile down the road from the Alchemist Brewery in Stowe. We love each other but she doesn't want a relationship. I couldn't continue so I moved on. Explanation below. Was I wrong?
I met this girl and to be fair to her, she didn’t want a relationship from the start. We work together and we got very close. We dated eventually but for only 2 months. I tried to make it work again but she needed time so I stepped out of the picture & it wasn’t until 6 months after that we started to hang out again. I love her to the moon and back. She does too but doesn’t still want a relationship. I found out lately that she doesn’t want sex either. I felt like I’m wasting my time seeing that she doesn’t want me in any way. I told her this and how I won’t just be a friend. She been telling me how important I am to her. The truth is, if I will be agree to be just friends if I could, but I can’t. I see her and I want her more than ever.I felt like it wouldn’t work for us that way so I told her we needed to just move on. Knowing that this causes us to also fight a lot, even tho we always get back together. We’ve stopped talking now and I feel like it’s the best decision. My heart skips when I see her still. So I try to stay away from her routes. I need your advice.
