How Many Hours Of Sleep Are Needed For 18 - 19 Year Age

Is 6 hours of sleep enough for an 18-year-old?

Maybe or maybe not.It solely depends what time of the day are you asleep.Generally, people suggest sleeping eight hours a day, but I personally feel that's not right.Sleeping less can make you less dependant on your sleep, however sleeping more can make you more dependant. As simple as that.If you sleep anytime between 8pm–10 pm, then you don't need to sleep for 8 hours, even 6 hours sleep would do well. Also, there's an Asana in Yoga called as Shavasana. It is said an hour of Shavasana equals to four hours of sound sleep. And even after those 6 hours of sleep if you feel exhausted, take an 8hours sleep once in a week. That's how the sleep patters have to be where you train your body to adjust and in turn become mentally strong and active. One more thing you'd need to keep in mind, if you do exercise a lot or if you're practicing certain sport which has a rigorous practice, you may have to take some rest midday, but that has to be not more than half hour.My answer doesn't talk too much on anatomy but it'd rather talk human behavior/lifestyle.Hope that answers your question.Good Luck!www.joyofyoga.in

What are the ideal sleep hours for a 19 year old guy?

There isn’t ideal sleep hours: There are sleep times that can work best for you, however.Ideally, you shouldn’t find it difficult to wake in the morning and feel well-rested when you wake. For most people, that means allowing 7–9 hours of sleeping time each night so that it is easier to get the 7–8 hours of sleep that most people require. You might even find you require slightly more. That might mean going to bed around 10 at night to wake up at 5 or 6 am for class, or it might mean that you schedule classes later in the day if you are a night person. If you want to test if you are getting enough, simply test. If you don’t have work or school to deal with, simply go to bed when tired and wake up without an alarm for a few weeks, keeping track of the time you sleep and wake along with if it took some time to get to sleep - and how you felt. You’ll start seeing a pattern. If you must work or go to school, you’ll have to acheive this by going to bed at different times while waking up at the alarm each day, including weekends. You’ll be able to take a guess on the sleep by noting how you felt upon waking and during the day.

How much is the ideal amount of sleep time for a 19 year old?

As we grow up, the amount of sleep we get naturally decreases. It depends on many things.Like if you have sweated out the entire day, you need a proper all-nighter. A good 8 hours. Don't try to extend any work to ruin your sleep cycle though. And if it was a pretty usual day and you can try and squeeze in a lot of tasks between evening and sleep time, surely you can do that. At this age mostly everyone sleeps at around midnight and/or post-midnight. Believe me that's not good at all. After a period of 18+ hours of wakefulness, the human body NEEDS those 6 hours at the minimum. The brain must defragment. Your body must reboot. One can't afford to ruin the productivity because of lack of slumber. And you can gain weight pretty easily too. As over 60% of the calories burnt is due to metabolic processes, one should sleep to mitigate the harms of improper absorption and assimilation of food. The quantity of sleep is accentuated the entire day. Make sure you recieve a minimum of 7 hours of blissful slumber. All of mobiles, books etc. to be left at the table.
