dont do this there are much better ways. believe it or not, by exercising and cutting your calories down to a certain amount you can lose up to 2 pounds a day in a healthy way. also calorie cutting doesnt do it all. you could eat say, 1200 calories a day btu if its all from candy (just an example) it isnt gonna do you a bit of good no matter how you workout. working out is hard but if you eat very very healthy and work out it will happen very fast. go to google and find a bmi calculator. get your bmi then google for a calorie calculator it will tell you how many calories a day you should have. if you tell it you want to lose, say, 2 pounds a day it will tell you hwo to do it

ok so im obese about 60 pounds overweight im suppose to weigh 180 but im 240. But a few weeks ago i was 260 and i got really sick so i could eat maybe 1 time a day or something. Well when i got better and i went to the gym to weigh myself it said that i lost 20 pounds and a few day ago my uncles and aunt said i looked thinner. So if i starve my self for 2 week i should be able to easily. Also im am able to keep the weight off because from saturday to monday i was really busy so i only ate like 2 times a day and when i weight myself i was 237. Im also pretty sure that i didnt lose any muscle mass but (you might find this silly) but i measured my muscles and they were all the same size. I was also able to lift the regular 30 pounds on each arm and 410 pounds for my legs. I also did a few bmr calculators and they all said that my BMR is around 2300 calories and that the average calories that i burn a day is around 3300 calories. Also im not gonna do like an all hardcore starving only like eat a few times a day. Also the problem is that i think i might have a eating disorder because when i start to eat i cant stop and when im finished i feel sick that i just ate that much and feel like i want to throw up but i force myslef not to.

Darlin, starving yourself is not the way to go. Trust me I used to want to go to extreme measures to lose weight, but I could never bring myself to do it. Once you list the pros and cons you'll realize that your health is the most important thing to you. You've got that body for the rest of your life so make the best of it. Don't endanger your health, your life, for pounds that you WILL gain back. I, personally, hated working out, I've been relatively sedentary for the past 6 years and I've smoked for the past 5 years. It's been two weeks since I started running on a treadmill everyday, and I've never felt better about myself. No I haven't lost all the weight I want to, but within time it will happen. SIMPLE TIP: Burn more calories than you eat and you'll shed pounds and keep them off. Losing weight isn't something you do for two weeks and expect the weight to never come back. I'm not gonna lecture because I'm 23 and doing the same thing for longer. I went from 160 to 116 in about 2 months. After a while you will have to eat. But try tiny portions of high protein. To keep you from feeling too weak and passing out.
Also try not just water but lemonade no sugar tea no honey no sugar. You need to purify your body. Not eating can cause rapid weight loss and you can have very uncomfortable side effects.
Ex. Heartburn, chest pains etc.

Most of all be careful. Listen to your body once you feel it's too much stop.
I drink about 2 liters of water per half day. You don't want to loose too much liquid. Plus try something to replenish fluids.
If at first you don't loose weight it's normal. Your body will go into shock. Try cutting down dramatically.

I am presuming that this is a hypothetical question because there are so many variables, such as weight in the first place, health, level of activity etc. I recently watched "The Alaska Experiment" and although those people were not starved they were in an extreme environment and had to expend a great deal of energy with very little protein. Part of the experiment was that they hunt and preserve their own protein food for the winter and live on very limited food of other sources. Most were all average weight or very slightly overweight. They all lost somewhere between 5 to 12 pounds in a very short time. Then consider very obese people who have gastric by pass it is not unusual for them to lose more than thirty pounds in one week. Personally, I think with a little research and considering some of the answers you will recieve from here, you could come up with a really kick butt paper. There is no real "correct answer" and the question can take you down so many paths, anyone would want to read this paper because weight is so near and dear to everyones thoughts these days See where I'm going? You could really "pile on" some extra credit with this one . When I was in my twenties I went from a size 20 to a size 10 in less than two months. I did it on less than 500 calories which is not starving but is not recomended. A very thin person starving for two weeks could seriously comprimise their health because when their is no fat to lose you are depending on muscle to keep you alive and muscle needs to be fed. As far as water goes, as much as I have read, I would say that you very well may die with no water for two weeks. You could also research people who fast for religious reasons, sometimes they fast or partially fast for many weeks at a time. Don't be depressed. It is okay to be a little overweight. However, if you feel you are more than a little overweight and are serious about losing that weight, you have to be serious about losing it too. So, what you need to do is eat no red meat(chicken and fish are okay). No and I mean no junk foods like chips and pretzels and dips and ice cream(unless it is soy ice cream). No, absolutely no sodas(besides you don't want to drink sodas which are the main cause of osteoporosis in women anyway), the carbonation and sugar content are extremely bad for you. Eat more fresh vegetables either raw or steamed. Eat more fresh fruits and drink fresh organic fruit juices. Drink about 6 to 8 bottles of fresh pure water every day. And, most importantly walk, walk at least two to 5 miles every day either before or after work or school or whatever. It would be more help if you walked early in the morning and again in the evening too. After about thirty days you will find that you have lost up to thirty pounds and anything left has been converted to muscle where you actually really need it. Good luck and stay happy.
