How Many Time Will It Take To Correct For An 18 Year Old After Putting Metal Braces

I'm 18 years old and need braces, I'm working full time and I feel to embarrassed to get them but I need them.?

It's nothing to worry about! Get them on, have your teeth straightened, get them off and feel great!
If you're really worried and you can afford it, get the invisible ones or ask your orthodontist about the braces celebrities get, on the back of their teeth- someone I knew had that and it worked for her.

Is my braces treatment time normal?

i got my braces put on in late april, so about 5 month ago... my teeth arent really bad, i have a little underbite and mess up front tooth due to sports injury. the initial treatment plan was 18 month
after braces was put on, i can feel the change on my teeth/ jar, in just 5 month the front tooth is fixed and underbite is almost gone, and my orthodontist said he is gonna shorten the treatment but sisnt tell me how long...
so my question are, is this normal that my teeth are straighting up so quickly. and does it mean that after the braces are taken off, my teeth are more likely to move back???
and whats the average and min time for braces treatment??

Should a 20-something-year-old get braces or should she just save herself from embarrassment?

I also asked why my parents didn't get me braces when I was younger. Cost wasn't an issue. I think it was because most people told me and my parents that my teeth looked pretty "straight." But what did they know... they're not a dentist, an orthodontist, nor me.I was really against getting braces in my 20's because c'mon...it's embarrassing for people in their 20's to get braces. I really wanted invisalign instead so that i could hide the fact.Long story short, I had crowding of my lower front teeth and my lower jaw was causing me to have a cross bite, so after getting the opinion of a couple dentists and orthodontists, invisalign was highly discouraged due to the inability to do what needs to be done to my teeth and the extra cost (almost twice as much as braces)...so I got braces 3 months prior to turning 24 with the help of dental insurance.I was self conscious of it at first and eating is a bitch at times... but you just have to keep your eyes on the prize (straight teeth) and rock those braces proudly. I consider this period the "growing pains" period. No pain no gain right? So to answer your question, it's definitely not too late to get braces.P.S. I've had the braces on for over a year now, I don't even notice them anymore. They should be coming off in another 6-12 months (supposedly). The straight teeth along with the extra boost of confidence was worth it for me. You need to decide if the cost, inconvenience, and self consciousness worth the gains to you.

Is 19 years old too old for Braces? College girls.. What do you think?

are you kidding me? im 17 years old and am getting my braces now... and i met people older then me REALLY HOTT GUYS! that were older then me that had braces... it really doesnt matter as long as YOU know you will have straight teeth... its better now then later because at least now you are still in school... when your in the real world.. making a living, working in the office... i could only imagine what that must look like .... so my advise to you is to suck it up and get it... i mean you will only be 21 when you get them removed and you have the rest of your 20's to impress girls with your new wonderfull smie! I cant wait till i get my braces (which are in 2 weeks) and you should be happy too! I mean you will look so HOTT!

think about it... straight beautifull teeth... or non straight ugly teeth... which do you think girls would preffer?

you decide ^_^

good luck with whatever you choose <3333

I'm a 17 year old girl and I got braces today... HELP!?

Okay, well I'm 17 year old girl who works at HollisterCo. and I got my braces today and i hate them so much i cant even express it.. I've been crying for the whole day from getting them and from the pain...

I'm so depressed about this because all my friends are in between 18-23 years old and go to clubs and i go out with them but now that i got these its tragic and i feel horrible... I'm starving all the time but i cant eat anything- i keep on biting on my tongue and it keeps on bleeding so i have the taste of blood all the time.. I took 1 panadol and 2 dissolve-able paracetamols in last 7 hours and the pain never stops... i feel like my teeth are going to fall out and its scaring me...

My teeth are not bad i had my 6th molar removed on the right bottom when i was 11 and the 3rd bottom tooth is a little crooked to the side and my 1st front tooth on the right on the top is a little crooked to the inside but barely visible(only if i turn to the left) on my braces i have rubber bands to correct my bite - and my orthodontist didn't tell me anything at all coz he's horrible and an asshole so im absolutely petrified of how long i'll have them for but im hoping i'm going to have them off by my 18th birthday which is on the 31st march 2013... and i've never had a serious boyfriend only a couple of flings but i miss kissing and making out with people and i dont know what to do coz im afraid people at my work place will make fun of me.

i really need help.. i've been crying for 7 hours about this and i have no intentions of going to work coz im too afraid of the judgement.

What do you think about a 18 year old girl with braces?

Med student here. I'll help ya out. Many folks get braces when they're older now. I've seen 60 year olds with braces. Personally, I like it. I think it makes you look younger. I wouldn't worry about it too much. If your bf would be ashamed to show you to his friends just because you have braces, then you need a new bf.
