I don't think very many women believe in the alpha male myth. But, as you can see from your responses, plenty of men still seem to be invested in it. It's certainly an aspect of some of the more dysfunctional types of masculinity still taught to young men today. You could relate the alpha-male myth to everything from modern predatory capitalism (in hierarchical capitalist "order," there's a CEO, and then there are minions all in competition with one another) to the structure of the military to the bullying phenomenon (I need to set myself apart as more "manly" and "strong" by using threats and violence). And, unfortunately, when trying to argue against it, you constantly run up against all kinds of ages-old idiotic stereotypes, evolutionary psych pseudo-science ("biological" or "natural" explanations, such as "Actually, humans are just like animals - look, animals rape each other, so human rape is only natural!") and masculine-mythology garbage ("The alpha male is an ANALOGY, jeez!"). Americans aren't really taught to be stellar critical thinkers. This is why Fox News is so popular. :/
Do men actually believe other womens gossip?
Think of a mans deductive reasoning like a child following a bread trail. If he finds a piece of evidence that supports his resolution, he will pursue the trail. If another women’s gossip supports his internal mindset, he will uphold it and vice versa. All time and Stimuli based execution models.

Now, i know that there are exceptions on this like women bodybuilders and puny men, but OBVIOUSLY the strongest man is stronger than the strongest women. Men have more testosterone which is a FACT, which causes muscle and bone growth. She should be able to process your suggestion and respond without bringing Twitter and half of the world of social media into the conversation.There is nothing wrong with openly and boldly pursuing what you want. Fortune favors the bold and in my experiences and observations no woman respects a waffling weak man who lacks certainty. Women don't like lukewarm men who maybe like them and maybe don't and maybe want to ask them out and maybe don't.

Why do people actually need to debunk it? Why can't people just instantly see how ridiculous the idea is? Why the f*ck would someone actually pay women lower than men in the exact same job? Even if you're extremely misogynistic, nobody would be that stupid. It's against the f*cking law, and you'd definitely get caught.
Does our society truly believe women are equal?
Of course, we all say we believe men and women are equal (well, most of us do, anyway). And it seems to us to be a simple matter of common sense. Of course women are equal, it's something we really don't think about very much. But if we look at our behavior, it paints a much different picture. The obvious example which comes to mind is that the majority of people are much more likely to throw a fit if a man hits a woman than they are if a woman hits a man. When a woman cheats on her husband and tries to explain it, she'll often cry and talk about how she was in a difficult place in her life, and how she made a terrible mistake and she wishes more than anything that she could take it back, and more likely than not, people will show her sympathy and everyone will feel sorry for her. But if a man cheats and then acts that way, he'll receive nothing but scorn, and nothing he can say will ever encourage people to show him any amount of sympathy. The same is true of people who stay with abusive partners. When it's a woman who talks about how she's hoping he'll change, she may get scolded for it, but all she has to say is "I know, it was stupid, but I really loved him," and she'll automatically receive everyone's sympathy, and the man will be made out to be a monster. If we put a man in that situation, it'll inevitably be "He should've manned up and left her, he has no excuse!" Why exactly would a person be so easy on women if they really believed women were just as strong and capable and mature as men? To pamper and baby a woman in that way for no other reason than because she was born female must imply that on a subconsciously level, no one really believes women are equal to men.
Do men actually believe that younger, compensated partners care about them and not the compensation?
I think there’s a mix of both. Some older men truly believe their young love interest is only interested in them and not just for the money. There are some old men that know for a fact that these young girls are only with them for the money. Most of these types of guys are okay with that.There are some cases where the younger woman is truly in love with their Daddy BF. Maybe it was the money that drew them in, but it’s possible that these young women can develop true feelings for their old man dad BF.So you can’t generalize this. Everyone is different. Depends on the pair of old and young.
