It depends on the funding source used and about a billion possible security factors. On average between 1 business day and 10 business days. 10 business days being eCheck where PayPal doesn’t trust your bank account linked enough to front the money from their own account to expedite the ACH process. (Nothing you’re doing wrong, nothing your bank is doing wrong— but if they haven’t seen that bank account on your PayPal account for very long, just like any relationship, they are leery of shelling out money without knowing you/the bank a little better. Regardless of whether it’s a popularly known bank or not.)
How long does ebay/paypal take to process a payment?
So I won an auction, paid for my item with paypal, but the thing is, I paid through a bank transfer on the 23rd. It processed (meaning it took the money from my bank account) on the 26th but when I log onto ebay it says that my payment is still being processed. I was wondering what is up with this and how long will it take for it to show that my payment is processed. Or is it that my payment was sent but the seller hasn't marked it as received? I always pay through my paypal balance, and have noticed the last few months payments take a long time, usually several days to post. This is a new situation, and I think it’s HORRIBLE. This is the age of the internet. There’s no logical reason a payment should take this long to go when the money is right there, available, and doesn’t have to go through several other channels (multiple banks).I think it’s a scam so they can charge more interest, and late payment fees.I’m going to be seeking out other PayPal users experiencing the same problems, and possibly start a class action against them.

As the StubHub representative said, it takes up to 5 days after the Buyer receives the tickets for payment to be processed via Paypal. Thus, they're essentially holding funds from at least 7 days to up to 10 days (or sometimes more). If you're curious as to the why, they are getting boat loads churning interest on the balance owed to sellers. Some have guesstimated $300K per year on interest from holding these funds alone (given their revenues). Ya, they make approximately 15% from each sale (which can obviously vary), but they hold the balances which belongs to sellers in their accounts. The amount was paid nearly simultaneously by the buyer and is thereafter churned through accounts from each sale, which bears significant interest. In other words, the balance of funds from others remains the same with near equal distribution of sellers' money compared to receipt of buyers' payments. This is also why Paypal doesn't get a direct 2-3% cut like most Paypal transactions. They probably have an interest in the interest made from holding onto such payments.

Not a stupid question but infact, a very typical question for those who do not use paypal outside of an ebay transaction. To keep it simple, go ahead a give her your paypal e-mail address. Its safe and secure and she cant go into your account as long as she does not also have your password...keep that to yourself always. Once she sends the money to your registered paypal account, you can simply withdraw the money by sending it to your bank account using the withdraw button found when logging into the account. Understand that is will take a few days (3-5) to get to your bank account after withdrawing the money from paypal so if you need it faster, paypal MAY or MAY NOT be the best choice for you. Also, make sure she is not using a e-checlk to send you the money or it will take even longer to process. Never send her ANYTHING unitl the payment clears to your paypal account and you get a e-mail from paypal saying "you recv. a payment from....) You can also have her place the money in your bank account or send you a cashiers check in the mail if you still do not trust the process.

Once you process the withdraw to your bank account via Paypal the process takes 3-4 business days to clear and be available in your checking account, regardless of what bank you have. I don't think calling them would help much as the process is the same for everyone. Hope this helps!
Why does it take PayPal 3 - 5 days to transfer money to my bank?
I personally don't believe this is anything more than a marketing decision to make it more appealing to leave your money in your PayPal account (thereby showing as an asset on Paypal's balance sheet), continue to earn interest as long as the money is stored under their control, and encouraging you to use their own branded Mastercard (which means they get the fees for use). They have a business interest in making it simply take so long.The reality is that financial transactions can be instant when they want to be. Banks and Paypal certainly can take my money out at the moment their MasterCard is swiped at a store.True story from a couple of weeks ago: I walked into a bank (not my own) to make a credit card payment because I had a Visa from there, and I gave them a handwritten check. I happen to check my own bank's checking balance not 10 minutes later, and the money was already deducted from MY bank -- because this other bank had scanned the check right there at the teller, read the numbers at the bottom, encoded it, and instantly transferred it from bank to bank. So banks and processors certainly CAN do this. Paypal simply chooses not to.
Does paypal work over the weekend?
It depends on how the person paid (Credit card or bank account) through PayPal. It may take until Monday to clear. Also, for it to be put into your account may take an extra day. I wouldn't worry too much about it. If it isn't on by noon on Monday, just call PayPal to be sure it's all fine.
