How Much Does A Reliable Treadmill Cost

How much does a Treadmill Cost?

Your question is a bit like asking "How much does a car cost?" Just like cars, you have expensive, well built machines that will last a lifetime and you have the cheap, poorly built pieces of trash I would feel embarassed to throw away for fear my would see what a horrible decision I made.

Here is a Breakdown, Star Trac and Matrix are the Mercedes of treadmills. They are the best treadmills around but will set you back a couple thousand dollars or more.

Horizon, Sole, Spirit, Bowflex, and Schwinn make low end to mid-rnage treadmills and vary in price from $599 to $1500 a piece.

If you're looking for a treadmill under $500, I would suggest taking a look at the Merit Fitness brand. They aren't the best treadmills on the market, but they're decen considering the price.

If you need any help choosing a treadmill you can visit my site at http://horizontreadmillreviews.blogspot.com or email treadmillmaster@gmail.com I'm always glad to hear from readers and my site has plenty of detailed treadmill reviews.

Sincerely,

How much does a treadmill cost?

There are cheap ones at a department store, or rugged ones at a good exercise store. Are you heavy, going to do fast running regularly? You get what you pay for.

You may not need/want some features, but do consider such items as a 2.75HP motor, user weight capacity, running surface size, incline settings, maximum speed, and warranty.

From Consumer Reports:
http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/healt...

Basic treadmills are fine for strictly walking and typically include a 10-mph top speed; a 10 percent maximum incline; a display for speed, distance, time, and calories; a shelf and water-bottle holders; and a folding deck.

Price range: $300 to $700.

Midrange treadmills have superior construction to basic models, making them better suited for walking and occasional running. They include the same features as basic treadmills, plus a heart-rate monitor and exercise programs.

Price range: $800 to $1,800.

High-end treadmills are best for frequent running and typically have the same features as midrange machines, plus a sturdier deck and frame, and a more powerful motor for frequent long, fast running. Most lack a folding deck, however.

Price range: $2,000 to $3,500.

You can get them as cheap as free on Craigslist, and that's about what most of them are worth. Sears sells them from 400 to 3000 dollars, the best treadmills for home use are made by landice and sell from 3000 to 7500 dollars. The ones you see at the gym sell for 6500-13000 dollars and the top of the line treadmill, the specialized ones you see at sports acceleration programs for the NFL and such, I've seen them go for up to 25,000 dollars.

Woodway makes the most expensive treadmills I've ever seen, and they have some really unique features. Some have medical uses, like specific designs to help the injured re-learn to walk. They have an "office treadmill" so you can work out on a treadmill under your desk.

They have an "anti-gravity" treadmill which is really cool, basically, it makes you lighter during your workout. This has 2 main benefits, 1. If you're lighter, you can run faster, so while you work out on this machine, you do run faster, and your body gets used to running faster through muscle memory, so even though you may not run as fast outside as you did on the anti-gravity treadmill, you will run faster than you would have if you hadn't trained on it. 2. Marathon runners have a lot of problems with getting injured in training. It's not just that their body has to run 26 miles, it's that it has to run 60 or more miles in a week with little time to heal itself after all that pounding. With the anti gravity function, you can be sore and a little beat up from a previous days run, but still get a healthy workout on this machine by running at a lower body weight which causes less damage to your bones.

And a really unique machine they have is called the "blade". This is a treadmill designed for hockey players and yes you wear your ice skates right on the treadmill. I didn't say roller blades, I said Ice skates! This machine goes up to 20 mph and you can buy a cage that has a safety harness and a special platform in front of the treadmill that allows you work on your puck handling while you skate on the treadmill. So yeah, it's an expensive machine.

But most people can get a descent treadmill for about 1000 dollars if they purchase wisely.

How much does a reliable treadmill cost?

I have been selling fitness equipment for 10 years and their are very reliable treadmills out there without spending a ton of money.

Consumer reports states that a good solid reliable treadmill used for jogging and walking on a regular basis will be around 1500. The price of the piece will also be reflected on by how many users plan on using it regularly.

If you only walk now you may want to think ahead because a good reliable treadmill can last you a decade, and though you only walk now you may graduate to jogging eventually.

I would suggest goin to a specialty retailer and avoiding any big box stores in your search. If you think you are gonna buy a proform, weslo, cadence, or any of the big box store items, buy a new couch instead cause thats where you will be with in a year.

Good brands to look out for:

LifeSpan is a great buy and even a consumer reports best buy. I would suggest the LSP 1000 or LSP 2000 as an entry.

Vision makes a 9200 model that has been the consumer reports best buy the last 7 years. Thats right every year for almost a decade and starts around 1100.

Pacemaster has been making treadmills in america for 40 years and are the most decorated brand in their pricepoint. Probaly the most bang for your buck if you are going to run on it.

Life Fitness is the most popular brand of treadmill in the world and has the best shock absorption. It costs more and is usually reserved for runners.

Take your time , do your research !!

How much does a used treadmill cost?

For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/awSJy

That depends, are you buying a used treadmill that was 10,000 dollars new or 277 dollars new? Are you buying a treadmill that is a month old or 25 years old. How big is the treadmill, how big is the motor? Is the surface cushioned? Does it have a fan, speakers, TV, EKG, body fat analyzer, chest pulse sensor? How much does it incline? What is the top speed? Does it fold up? Is it sturdy and well built? I could go on, but I think the point is made. It's like asking asking what's a reasonable cost for a used car, house or even television, and in all cases, it varies greatly depending on what you are getting. I do sales and repair of treadmills in my spare time and I have acquired working treadmills for free and I've sold used treadmills for as much as 3000 dollars(it was a very nice treadmill). I can give you a great answer if you give me a detailed question. Like anything else, Yahoo answers work on the principle of Garbage in, Garbage out.

How much does a dog treadmill cost ??

it depends. There are a few different types.

But be aware, people are ignorant. Even though youre trying to do good and excercise your dog for healthy reasons, others are brainwashed into thinking " what does he have that for? He's fighting dogs and animals, call the cops and aspca. "

When it couldn't be further from the truth.

Just buy a cheap human tread mill and call it a day. It'll be fine. Or why not be with your dog while doing hard exercise? I normally just ride my bicycle and he trucks along with me. He just want to spend time with the pack. A bike is perfect! its still personal bonding and environmental stimulation.

This way his goal of becoming tired and mine of "saving energy and not drenched in sweat" works. Depends on where you live.

I used to have the GREATEST time with my dog, just he and I, in the mountains and forests. He'd run down deer, etc and I'd be right behind him cheering him on.

After 5hrs of roaming and hunting, he's tired and knows he had a good day.

Sadly, 90% of dogs in the USA never experience this on a daily basis.

They are bought and forced to be at home with no mental, or physical stimulation. They are their humans toy. Personally, I'd bite my owners who didn't take me out, run me, etc....

How much does it cost to ship a treadmill?

Hi Red! I'm quite aware of freight rates for fitness equipment and have sent such items across country before. I also had some help from some friends.

Due to the weight of the treadmill you can't send it by normal UPS or Fed Ex. Instead the least expensive way is to send it by common carrier truck. Since you're not a business and you do no regular shipments, you won't qualify for any freight discounts. I assume the weight is around say 175 - 200 lbs. Weight, dimensions, whether the item is stackable or not, if a tailgate is needed for pickup and/or delivery, fuel surcharge, residence pickup/delivery surcharge, shipping/destination points, etc., all go into the common carrier freight cost. Minimal, you'll be looking at freight charges of anywhere from $500 - $1,000 from a common carrier. While a buyer is responsible for freight on ebay, I really doubt you'll find any takers with freight so high, since they could buy new for the cost of freight.

You have 3 options:
1. Advertise it locally and sell the unit at a discount, say 25% - 50% of what it cost you for the treadmill.
2. Donate it to a charity and take a tax write-off for 2007 taxes.
3. Sell it to a local second-hand fitness equipment store.

Those options should allow you to find a buyer, because afterall your goal is to git rid of the treadmill before moving. If all else fails I gues he 4th option is to take the treadmill with you. I hope that helps... Let me know how it turns out!

Looking for a good, reliable treadmill?

What sort of price range are you looking at? In the under $1000 range there are a few decent brands: Horizon, Smooth, even the Healthtrainer from Keys. Stay away from Proform, NordicTrack, Image, Weslo or anything made by Icon Fitness. They tend to be poorly made and have limited lifespans.

Over $1000 and your options open up a little more. Spirit and Sole (both made by the same company) are great machines with great warranties. SportsArt is another great company in the $100-2500 range.

Beyond that, you've got Star Trac, Matrix and Landice as the Mercedes, Lexus and BMW of treadmills. You can't go wrong with any of those machines...but be prepared to pay as their low end units start at around $2500 and go up in to the stratosphere.
