How Much Does It Cost For A 16 Year Old To Have A Car

How much would car insurance cost for a 16 year old?

For a used mustang it would cost me about $300 a month with the least coverage possible and I'm 18 years old now. I own a 2001 pontiac bonneville supercharged (4d sedan) and the quote was 230 a month.

If you have a job I would consider getting your mom to add you to her insurance, I added my car to my mothers insurance under my own name and our combined quote was only about $130 for both of our vehicles which saved us both money.

Good luck, if all else fails register your car in your parents name, it will be so much cheaper.

How much does it cost a 16 year old to insure a Jeep Wrangler?

Hahahaha you were surprised? I'm a male who is also 16. I drive an '07 F-150 with a V6. I pay $284 a month with good student discount along with others. No matter what car you get it will be over a $100 a month. At our age there isn't a car that is inexpensive to insure. You'll have to talk to your insurance company and talk to them about discounts and the type of the car. If I had a V8 I would most likely be paying $300 something a month. If all of these cars have a V6 then gas mileage should be pretty good. I get 16 city and 20 highway. Good luck and if you're buying a car with your money then save some for insurance and gas. Gas is only going to get more expensive with Isaac in the Gulf. Also don't get a car that needs premium gas. Premium is more expensive.

You'll be paying at least $1,000 a year. I pay mine in 6 month time periods. I pay $1,200 in October and April. My parents cover $500 hundred I believe. I do stuff around the house so that's like an allowance.

Since you're paying for it all by yourself I suggest not spending all of your money on the car obviously. Save at least $1,200 for gas and insurance. I'm not fully insured. I don't think I have the minimum coverage but I know I do not have full coverage. Either way, it won't be cheap.

Can a 16 year old making $800 a month afford a car that cost $24,000?

It better be an amazing car! For a first car at 16, that's kind of crazy to be spending that kind of money. I would recommend a car half or a third of the price as it allows you to get a decent car and have money left over to spend on yourself. I bought a $8,000 car and I am glad as I can afford to go on trips and hang out with my friends. Maybe look for a used car, you will be happy when you see all the money you can save. When you graduate, the more money you have saved the better. Buy a cheaper car, drive it for a few years, and then buy the nice car that you really want!

Is a Ford Mustang a good car for a 16 year old?

A lot depends on the 16 year old.  ARe you going to drive it like a dumbshit?  Get something that will cost less and be going slower when you run into something in it (and, statistically, you probably will). The Fourth gen mustang is kind of a crapshoot.  This is the car that finally retired the Windsor small-block V8 which is a downside, at least in my opinion, as I freaking love that engine (and there are about a million cool things you can do with it). It is _better looking_ than the 3rd gen or fox body. My personal opinion is that if you're going to buy a Mustang, buy a new one or a 1965-1973 (1st gen). You can't afford the former and you can't afford the latter in the kind of condition you need.In sober truth: if you're buying your first car, don't buy a pony car unless you're a gearhead who is going to fix it when it breaks, keep it running, and take care of it.  You will make yourself and anyone who has to listen to you bitch about it (your parents, girlfriend, friends) unhappy.  If I were buying a car at 16 and wanted something reasonable, comfortable, and inexpensive to insure, I'd probably be looking for a low-mileage early 2000's Ford Taurus.  They aren't especially pretty, but, the 24valve 3.0L version (look for an SEL) have abundant power for their weight and you can get one CHEAP and the insurance will be concomitantly cheap. Slap a coat of matte black paint and some stripes on it and it actually looks kind of menacing. I get that you want an awesome car.  Don't we all? You know what? It's of zero importance. Save your money, get something reliable and have fun with it. When you buy that pony car, buy the one you want, not the one you can just barely afford.  You'll be glad you did and you will enjoy the ride a lot more.

How much is car insurance for a 16 year old??

How much would car insurance be for a 16 year old girl with a mustang?

I will be turning 16 and getting my license in January and i plan on getting a Mustang 2008 GT not certain the color yet although i understand that affects the cost of insurance. Its most likely to be red, which i also understand it will cost more for red. Anyways it will be a convertible. So i would just like an estimate on monthly cost for insurance.
and if your one of those adults that is just gonna mouth off that its not reasonable for a teen to get a mustang convertible, your just trying to look cool ect ect, please dont, adults always feel the need to be snarky i just am asking what you estimate is thank you for your time!(:

Should I buy a Tesla as a 16 year old?

I can think of a few reasons why you shouldn’t, but the most important is, if I had just made an investment in a startup and the first thing the founder did was to buy a car that costs 4 times what he earns in a year, I’d come to the conclusion you have no idea how to handle money and I’d pull mine out of your venture.Let’s put some hard numbers into this thing. Financial gurus will tell you that your total car expenses - principal, interest and insurance - should come to no more than 10 percent of your take-home income. Just the lease payment is half what you make; any F&I manager in America would get fired for leasing a $90,000 car to someone who takes home $24,000 per year after expenses. I can’t think of anywhere in the US that full-coverage insurance on a $90,000 car - which you MUST have on a car you don’t own outright - for a 16-year-old, plus the $950 per month the car costs, isn’t going to cost more than you currently make. And if you live in a state with an ad valorem tax, like North Carolina, you’ll have to budget for it. (NC has a car tax estimator on their website; it would cost you $1125 per year in taxes for a Tesla.) Neglect not the fact that you could possibly run over a big rock and destroy a $150 tire, or the tire plus a $500 wheel. Or you could get in an accident and have to cover the deductible on your insurance. Plus I don’t think your parents are going to be real happy about what this car is going to do to their light bill. It’s not that you can’t afford a Tesla if you earn $24,000 per year. It’s that owning a Tesla would require more money than you have even if you spent nothing on anything else. You can pick up used Honda Civics for $2500 apiece all day long, and they’ll do everything you need from a commuter car.TL,DR: Hell no you shouldn’t buy a Tesla on your income!

How much would insurance cost for a 16 year old boy with a Nissan 350Z?

IT DEPENDS ON WHAT HIS DRIVING RECORD LOOKS LIKE BUT NO MATTER WHAT ITS NOT GOING TO BE CHEAP A 350Z IS CONSIDERD A SPORTS CAR AND WITH THE BOY BEING ONLY 16 IT WILL COST MORE BECAUSE THE INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE GOING TO ASSUME HE IS RACING IN IT WITCH HE PROBABLY WILL BUT THIS SHOULD HELP WHEN I WAS 18 I PURCASHED A 350Z AND MY DRIVING RECORD WAS PERFECT BUT IT STILL TOOK A 700 HUNDRED DOLLAR DOWN PAYMENT AND 346 A MONTH FOR FULL COVERAGE
