How Much Does It Usually Cost To Have Dogs Watched At Vets Office For 2 Days Sat And Sunday

Should breeder pay vet bill when puppy was in critical condition within 20hrs of purchase from coccidia?

the price of the puppy was dropped to 200.00 and then once i spoke with the breeder she accepted 180.00. I contacted her that saturday and she said to try to feed my dog through a suringe...we got a bottle but still nothing. so we took him to the vet. i stayed in contact with the breeder everyday he was there on day 2 she said his sister had coccidia and to tell the vet to give albon which they were doing. she has akc dogs but this was not one of them and she said he was a VERY healthy and playful dog...she has a website for Kountry Kritters. i live in michigan and i found it hard to understand the law for this situation. she did offer to pay me 90.00 half of what we paid for him or an adult pomeranian but we are not interested in another dog from her.

What do you do when your dog is dying but the vet is closed?

If you're going to tear someone apart verbally, if their pet is dying or not, then you need to get off the internet. We can't control that we can't touch her. We can't control that we have hardly enough money for food right now, let alone gas and vet costs. I'm not making excuses, I'm just telling you guys what we are capable of doing. She is our pet, and our nearly 7 years with her have been with us spoiling her. Don't tell me how to take care of my pet, and don't you DARE say that I shouldn't own pets.

My dog got caught in a fence yesterday night, she got out but now I'm worried dark blood like pool under her?

1) get a container of water and a wash cloth and gently wipe the area with a wet wash cloth. If it's dark, then maybe the blood is on the outside of the skin, and this will come off with water. If it's under the skin, it's heavy bruising from internal bleeding. - What SIZE is it?

2) Then, get some peroxide and dab it on with a clean wash cloth or cotton ball, or if you have a small squirt bottle or dropper that you can use, that works as well. If there's blood on the outside, it'll bubble and help remove the excess blood. If it's internal bleeding, you won't get the bubbling action.

3) If you've done both of those, and there was external blood, it would be good to now pat it dry, and use a scissors to trim away some fur to expose it more. Just to keep the fur around the injury short so you can see and treat it more easily. Then treat it with either Iodine or triple antibiotic cream or ointment. Hopefully you have one of these.

If you don't have some of these things, and IF you don't have a car, do you have a friend or neighbor who can take you to the store to get these items? Hopefully you do.

The dog tried to bite you possibly because you accidentally made it hurt more, or maybe because she was just very frightened, or possibly a bit of both. She was just trying to tell you to stop. Your mom needs to use a DIFFERENT kind of fencing for her flowers. For my pyrs I simply used a small grade fencing with step in posts to secure it. It sounds like your mom might have made her fence out of barbed wire, which can hurt a dog if it gets caught.

Your dog sustained both an injury and emotional trauma. These combined would cause her to not be her usual self.

Try treating it first yourself, and, if she still seems to need to see a vet, ask a neighbor to take you if you don't have your own transportation. Emergency Vet visits on weekends always cost more, and there is always some vet on call, just like there are always doctors on call at night and on weekends. You might have to call around to find one, however. If you do as I recommended, you may be able to care for her till Monday, but she should see a vet because of where she injured herself. -!-

E-Collars and Dog Crates?

In my opinion, it's not safe to leave her without the E-collar. Dogs tend to bite at the stitches most when they're really itchy which isn't at the beginning - it's when they're healing. If she rips them out then and needs re-suturing, that means another anesthetic for her and that's not a good thing. It's so much better to be safe. You can take the collar off her whenever someone's home to watch her. I know those collars are a pain for the dog, but the vet recommended it for a really good reason.

My dog was bit by a friends dog, who pays?

We paid a friend to watch our two dogs while we were on vacation for ten days. She has two dogs also and a huge back yard. I also lived with her for a year with all of our dogs. So our dogs were not strangers with one another. I picked them up on a Sat at 5pm, my friend was not home. My German Shep/Chow got in the back seat and lay ed down till we got home. I thought he was just pooped out from playing all week and his hair was standing out on his neck. My boyfriend had everything outside to wash them as soon as I got them home because they are inside dogs. My dog stepped out of the car and I put my hand on his neck where the hair was standing up and he was bleeding. I got out the scissors and cut away his hair. It was horrible. I called her and she told me her dog and my dog got into a fight the day before. We took him right to the ER ( the only thing open on a Sat). Both vets said he was bit either the day we left or the day after and that it did not happen the day before. It was so infected it needed a drain. The wound also had a lot of dead skin that had to be cut out. We had them clean him up at the ER and went to Ban field the next day( only thing open on Sunday) for surgery. A drain and stitches and $1240.00 later he is doing much better. Every ones question to me was how did she or her three older girls not notice? My friend said she never noticed. I believe it was total neglect on her part. Should I even ask her for money, or her homeowners ins? I live pay check to pay check and I had to max out my credit card for this, I am very upset and we work together.
