How Much Of A Benefit Is It To Drink Water And Give Up Soda And Coffee

What are the benefits of not drinking soda?

My doc said that the body stores all the carbonic acid that is formed when the soda meets your digestive juices. These are caustic and can chew at the lining of your stomach and intestines, and create digestive probs. I have stopped drinking sodas for about six weeks now. The bloated feeling is mostly gone, and my stomach talks to me less and less. I have substituted tea and water. I still need the caffiene, working late nights, and still also drink coffee. But, overall, I feel better and am enjoying the many more flavors of tea that are available, moreover that of sodas. Good luck, below is a link that might help you in your info searches...

Which is better to drink, soft drink or tea/coffee?

It largely depends on the coffee/tea in question. An Eiss Kaffe (used German spelling, as English doesn't have a way to use the exact sounds, but it's an Israeli beverage) is not necessarily any better for you than a soft drink. It's a slushie, with a bit of coffee, a moderate amount of milk, and lots of sugar. There are other unhealthy ways to drink coffee, but this one is a good example of the extreme. However, like most things, it's healthy in moderation. One's primary beverage should always be water, with the occasional soft drink or other treat added for variety.
