How Much Of A Raise Do I Deserve Mcdonalds

Why do mcdonalds workers think they deserve $15 a hour?

Right!! As a former employee in the field of food services I know for a fact that they make enought in tips to cover this. I put myself through half a semester of community college with what I earned. I would have never left if my parents didn't start charging me rent

How Do I Quit Mcdonalds?

i started working there may of 2010, i always worked 15 hours a week and never missed a day, i always worked the grill and yet i never got a raise. But i want to know how do i quit? this is my 1st job and i am heading off to college in couple weeks. I work tomorrow and only the Assistant manager will be there, do i just walk up to him and say in couple weeks advice i wont be working here. What do i say when they ask me why? i just dont want to drive 1hr to work here and i dont like working here.

What do you think of restaurant workers (such as McDonalds) protesting for higher wages, some being more than medical professionals even make?

Are you speaking of the entry level medical professionals, Emergency Medical Technicians? Who often make $12 to $14 an hour? Who took a 3 month course for 3 evenings a week? Because Paramedics who studied longer make more than $15 an hour now in most cases.Do note that EMTs generally work a 12 or 24 hour shift and generally get paid for all those hours whether there are any calls made or not. When there are no calls they are free to sleep, study or just goof off as long as they are at their station. With this sort of hours they can do a lot better than fast food workers who are kept to 4 hour shifts to avoid paying benefits.Besides if the lowest level workers do get raised to $15 an hour, EMT pay will rise to be above that. But you are ignoring the positive effect on the economy. People in low wage jobs live from payday to payday and spend every dime they make. What giving them a raise means is that businesses will turn around and recover every dime except what taxes take. As well the extra taxes paid will help reduce federal and state deficits. Since the GOP gave away 100 billion a year to the rich, they have to make it up from somewhere besides the Trump tariffs. Here in British Columbia with a $12.65 minimum wage it means what is on the 99 cent fast food menu in the US is from $1,29 to $1.49 here. A small price to pay to give people something closer to a living wage.

Do you think companies like McDonalds should pay a higher wage to their employees?

McDonald’s in 2016 employed 375,000 people in 120 countries. Their net profit was $5+ billion. So they are making money. We know that in European countries, McDonld’s workers earn more than in the US. The impact on prices there is not significant, and is certainly not enough to scare away customers. In the US, it is estimated that McDonald’s workers on average are about $8.29 an hour. But we also know that McDonald’s workers are often so low on the economic scale, they qualify for various social assistance benefits. One analysis says that since 2010, US McDonald’s workers have received about $7 billion is local, state and federal subsidies, meaning we as a group are making up for McDonald’s low wages. It’s also interesting that McDonald’s corporation owns all the land upon which its restaurants sit, and charges them rent. Between 2010 and 2015, McDonald’s raised their rental fees by 25%. Did wages go up 25% during that time? Nope.McDonald’s is just one example of large, healthy corporations that pay their executives well, and reap solid consistent returns for shareholders but do not include workers in the rising prosperity. Not just that — they expect taxpayers to subsidize employees thru social assistance. Can they afford to pay higher wages (and benefits, starting with health insurance)? Of course.
