How much do 5 story buildings cost to build in the USA?
Multi storey buildings are classified into 3 categories: Low rise, Mid rise and High rise. A 5 storey building is mid rise. The costs depend on the building category, architectural specifications, location and the construction index ( the price increase or decrease of materials + labor at any time in the location).Building Category: Is the building a residential, commercial, medical, educational, entertainment or industrial facility? Obviously, these categories require different architectural specifications. Architectural specifications are not just the designs, they also include the materials, the type of finishes, windows, doors, fittings, and ceilings that will be required. Expensive finishes will have a bearing on the overall cost. Therefore, you will have your 5 storey building classified as either Low cost, Mid cost or High end.So do you want to build a Low cost or High end building? That's a question you have to answer.Location: The cost of building materials varies according to location. So a 5 storey building in New York will not cost the same as one in Miami or Dallas. How much does it cost to build a 10-story building?
The square footage per floor is about 6400 feet, with three elevators, with a glass and steel exterior. The floors and walls are fairly thick, and most of the floors will be dedicated to either office space or upscale condominiums (2 per floor), except for the bottom floor, which is dedicated to retail. I'm looking for an estimate not including the price of the land. I greatly appreciate any estimates you can make. Information on the variability of the costs is extremely helpful as well. How much would it cost to build a small shop/shed building?
Allow yourself about $18-$22 per sq. foot for a nice shed. Now of course people have different tastes, so what is too costly for others might be just what you want. Go to your local lumber center and they should have plan books on these detached sheds/barns. If not they should be able to provide you a materials list with costs. Full electrical service and the concrete slab will be the most costly things on this building. It might be more feasible to install a treated floor base using treated plywood vs. poured concrete. Doors,windows,ceiling,interior wall finish,lighting all add up, especially if you pick higher end materials. When we build a nice garage our square footage price sometimes exceeds $28, so it depends on what you want.
How long does it take to build a 12 story building?
Depends a great deal on the complexity of the building. A two storey hospital could take much longer than a 20 storey simple structure office block. If it's a very simple structure then it's quite slow progress but if it's a complicated structure with varying design elements, complicated services, high standard of finishes then it's not a long time. If the client has made very specific or unusual requests this can seriosuly slow down construction. Budget can play a part - if budget isn't so much of a problem then you can hire in several tower cranes, lots of plant and workers and get the job moving quickly. Did the 12 months include site preparation as this can take a long time? The ground might need decontaminating, consolidating, there may be complex foundations.
