How Much Would You Pay For A Dvd Movie That You Really Like

How do I rip a DVD movie to my hard drive?

I rented a movie from Redbox, and I'd like to copy it to my computer, because it's a movie I really like. I tried using "Magic DVD Ripper" but it splits it into like 10 pieces. I've used the program before on a different computer, and it worked fine, it just doesn't seem to work the same anymore...

What program (free) can I use to rip this movie to my hard drive?

Also, I'm going to be ripping this for my own personal use, I will not be sharing it, uploading it, or showing it anywhere, but to my own eyes.

Thanks for any help!

If you already have the DVD version of a movie, will you still buy the same movie in the Blu-ray version?

Not only have I done that many times, I’m now starting to replace a select few of my Blu-rays with 4K UHD Blu-rays as well. It can drive my wife nuts. For me, the difference between DVD and Blu-ray is huge. Obviously the picture resolution is a lot better, and I no longer see the MPEG compression in the DVD which is nice, but the sound quality is also typically a lot better on a Blu-ray than a DVD, which is one of the big reasons I like to upgrade. As for 4K UHD Blu-rays, the differences are much less noticeable. I’ve only been upgrading a few of my movies that I know have noticeably better quality in their 4K UHD counterparts… so far I’ve updated the Dark Knight Trilogy, since it was filmed on IMAX film and thus the resolution difference is noticeable. I also purchased The Matrix on 4K UltraHD Blu-ray, which is the fourth copy of the film I’ve owned (I owned the DVD, then upgraded to the Blu-ray, and then when there was a good deal on the trilogy box set on Blu-ray I couldn’t pass that up, and that included the third copy of The Matrix I’d owned.) I’d also double-dip for Vertigo if it became available in 4K UHD HDR, and there would be a handful of other favourite films that I’d consider re-purchasing in a higher resolution. So yes, I have bought the same movie in Blu-ray that I already owned on DVD. I’ve even bought some of those movies again in 4K UltraHD Blu-ray.

Is it legal to rent out home license DVD of movies and make money out of it?

Thanks for the Ask. Yes, that is legal (in the US). @William Robles gave a good answer, but I can elaborate a bit...I worked for Blockbuster for several years, both before and after the advent of Redbox and Netflix's mailer service, as well as before and after the Blockbuster bankruptcy and DISH Network buyout.Renting out DVDs was the core of the business. When we, as a company, couldn't come to an agreement with a movie studio or distributor, we'd send managers to the store before work. I personally made several early-morning shopping trips to Wal-Mart, Target, BestBuy, and even Costco. We were renting out a physical product, not the actual creative work, so our licensing was a different concern than what streaming services deal with.An interesting note/rant: we didn't really make a profit on rentals, especially not when we had to go pay full-retail prices for the discs. How much are you willing to pay, per day, for a new release? How many days can I rent the disc out at that price? At, say, $20 for a new disc, and $4 per day, I have to rent that disc five times just to pay for the original purchase, not even accounting for the overhead of sending me to buy the disc, or repackage it, or print labels, or the labor of operating a store (plus electricity and real estate and insurance and and and...). Running a business is expensive. That's why we always tried to sell you popcorn and candy and soda, which have huge mark-ups. That's also why DISH always wanted to sell you a TV contract too. That's also why Blockbuster is gone. Blockbuster as a business didn't "lose" to Netflix as a business... DVD lost to digital.

Do people really buy DVDs and music CDs nowadays?

Thanks for the A2A. At an overall level, JG McLean has the complete answer - plenty of people still buy music in physical formats, although not as many as in the heyday of the “music industry”.For myself, I bought about 150 records in physical formats over the last 12 months, about evenly split between CDs and vinyl (LP, 12 inch and even a few 7 inch formats). It would take too long for me to go through the reasons why I collect in different formats but basically I buy house and dance music on vinyl (so I can play them out when I occasionally DJ) and reggae and jazz on vinyl because I think they just sound better in that formatAs to why I buy physical copies at all, its a combination of two things. Firstly, sound quality. As mentioned by others I am not really prepared to compromise with massively compressed files. And secondly, whilst I do use streaming services I am not prepared to trust my music collection to third parties that may go broke, or change their terms and conditions, or simply terminate their relationship with artists I like. So, old fashioned though it may be, I prefer the security of a physical copy even though it means I need an extra room just to house it all

You pay $17.38 for a dvd with a $20 bill. How much change to get back?

I'm doing my summer math packet right now and I don't know how to solve one of the problems. Can you tell me what I need to do to solve it? It says:

38. You buy a DVD movie for $17.38 and you paid with a $20.00 bill. How much change should you receive?

And I know some of you will say "Do your own homework!" or "Figure it out yourself." But I'm really stuck and don't know what to do, so please just help me out. Just tell me how to solve it and I'll do all the work.

Thanks! :)

Is buying Bootleg music and dvd's really a crime?

Of Course ... it is the same as stealing. If you take or buy music that the artist does not get paid for ... then he / she has done work for Nothing ...

Would YOU work and then not get paid . Like: If you owned a bakery . You made 100 cream puffs . An employee was Giving them to his friends for Nothing .... How would you feel ? YOU are losing money .... the same way with bootleg music ....

When caught; you can be fined or een sentenced to prison ... it is a Federal crime to steal music , or have possession of stolen music .
