Should I attend UT Austin, UT Dallas, or Texas A&M?

You can get a perfectly good pre-med education at any of those schools. Your success in medicine will have a great deal less to do with the name of your school and a great deal more to do with the opportunities you seek along the way. As you explore colleges, ask:How does the college support premeds? What's the wait time to see a pre-med advisor? What support is given for medical applications? Does the school have a Committee Letter process?Which classes are taught by grad students and which by professors? How many pre-med students are able to conduct independent research, or publish? (Don't ask "do research"—you want substantive projects, not just cleaning pipettes or training rats.) What labs do students work in?What options does the school offer for majors? How do students connect to volunteering? How do students connect to healthcare experience?I can't answer for Austin or A&M, but at Dallas we have six full time pre-health advisors and the average wait for advising is less than a day. We offer extensive application support including interviews and a committee letter. All classes are taught by professors. Pretty much every pre-med who wants to do research finds a lab, and there are special programs like Clark Summer Research and Green Fellowships, through which a UT Dallas student spends an entire semester at UT Southwestern medical school as a full-time biomedical researcher. Students connect to volunteering on their own, through the Office of Student Volunteerism, or through student organizations. Students connect to healthcare on their own at any of North Dallas's eighteen hospitals or hundreds of clinics and private practices.UT Dallas doesn't have much of a party scene and has no football team – its flagship team sport is Chess – but if you're serious about academics the university is a mile-long hall of doors, each of them an opportunity and almost all of them open to undergraduates.

Is getting into UT Austin harder for an international undergraduate student?

It is difficult, but a simple trick you could use is to apply for a major that is easy to get into, take classes that are part of the core language, science and liberal arts, maintain a high GPA and transfer in a year. That is much easier for most international students who are on the lower end of the borderline but requires some risk-taking.

Why do some people consider Austin weird?

I'll ignore the slight to the "rest of TX" which although conservative, certainly lean more libertarian (and in the cities, somewhat progressive) than bible-beating Conservatives in say...Miss, AL, NC, etc. Here is how people generally qualify/quantify "weirdness" in this context.Number of artists, musicians and related support per capitaNumber of independent restaurants, coffee shops, and other non-corporate food options per capitaNumber of independently owned businesses selling locally-sourced items - groceries, clothing, and anything else made by real people, not children in China....again, per capitaNumber of people of very modest incomes able to live and enjoy the urban core of a city (this is unfortunately on the decline)And finally, it's the general nature or preserving our green spaces, water resources, and anything else that flies in the face of rampant concrete and development all while keeping the cost of living relatively low. No one I know could raise their families in any of the cities you mention, yet in Austin, they can live in a central neighborhood, grow their own vegetables, bike to a locally owned coffee shop, and walk their kids to a nearby park.So there ya go - when I go to NYC, I see Starbucks, McDonalds and a host of other things that aren't exactly "weird". Really rich people live in Manhattan and London and although there are street vendors selling trinkets and random "I <3 NY" T-shirts, this crap is all made in China and does nothing to boost the local artist community. There are a number of "locally-ownded" bodegas and the like around NY, but they all sell junk food, coke, and cigarettes for people on the go.Does that help you understand the weirdness?

What food is Austin, TX known for?

Traditionally Austin was known for great tasting cheap food in the form of Tex-Mex, burgers, and hearty American diner fare. In the last decade it has shifted substantially to over emphasize tacos and higher class and higher priced foods. If you visit Austin tomorrow it would be recommended to try BBQ, Tex-Mex, or one of the many newer and high quality options that have come up in the last 5 years.BBQ: Franklin's (if time permits), LA Barbecue, Valentinas Tex-Mex BBQ, Terry Black'sTex-Mex: Cisco's, Habanero, Casa Maria, Enchiladas y Mas, Taqueria Arandas #3 on BurnetNewer/Higher End: Suerte (freaking amazing), Anthem, ATX Cocina, Red Ash, Carpenter's HallFor more info look me up on Instagram @atxfoodguy or ATXFoodGuy - Exploring life, one bite at a time. What is the most closely related university to UT Austin within the UT system?

There are two guaranteed transfer ways into UT Austin.CAP Program: If you are accepted in the CAP program at UT Austin, you have the option to attend either UTSA, UTEP, UTA, UTPB, or UT Tyler for a year and you are a guaranteed transfer into UT Austin your sophomore year. However, there are a bunch of requirements for CAP students and you have to meet all of them before UT accepts you for your sophomore year.PACE-Co-enrollment at Austin Community College. It’s like Blinn Team at Texas A&M. You take classes at ACC and UT, but you stay at ACC until you receive your associates. After receiving your associate, you are eligible to transfer to UT Austin as a full time student. The only way to receive either CAP or PACE is to apply to UT Austin. If you receive CAP, but not PACE, you cannot ask for PACE. Basically whatever UT says in your MyStatus is what you can do.All UT system schools are great and will give you a solid shot of transferring to UT Austin. In my opinion, UT Dallas is one of UT’s best flagship and you will receive a solid education there, which is on par with UT Austin.

Please help with: calculate the under or over applied overhead for the period.?

Austin Company uses a job order cost accounting system. The company's executives estimated that direct labor would be $2,000,000 (200,000 hours at $10/hour) and that factory overhead would be $1,500,000 for the current period. At the end of the period, the records show that there had been 180,000 hours of direct labor and $1,200,000 of actual overhead costs. Using direct labor hours as the allocation base, calculate the under or over applied overhead for the period.
a.$200,000 underapplied.
b.$300,000 underapplied.
c.$300,000 overapplied.
d.$150,000 underapplied.
$150,000 overapplied.
