How Old You Have To Be Until They Kick You Out Of High School To Take The Regents

Can high school make you repeat a grade if you failed?

Absolutely. If you fail a class, let’s say Algebra I, that is a graduation requirement then you HAVE to pass that class (or some equivalent credit) in order to graduate. If you fail all of your courses Freshman year, some of them might not be graduation requirements but any that are you will have to take again. If you continue failing Algebra I every year, they will not magically let you take Geometry unless someone in the registrar’s office makes a mistake. Some schools require a certain number of credits completed before they call you an advanced name such as Sophomore or Junior. Most don’t, so you may still be called a Sophomore after failing all your classes. But unless you make up credits (not all schools have options for doing this) then you will just get to be a Senior multiple times.Ultimately, if you don’t complete sufficient credits before you turn 21, then they stop having you repeat grades. You simply get to pay for a G.E.D. test if you want a High School Equivalent diploma.

If you failed Algebra Regents, do you go to Summer School?

I know what the algebra regents are, so I have all the information needed to answer your question. Yes, you do have to go to summer school. Even if you pass the class, you still have to go. What you do is, you go to one week of summer school, basically a review, and take the regents again in August. Fail that, you have to retake the course next year and retake the exam in january. Hope this helps! Any further details, you should consult your school.

How can I graduate early from high school?

Perhaps the most important issue to consider is - what do you want to do after you graduate. If you want to work, you may be too young for numerous jobs. If you want to go to college, consider in which colleges you’re interested, which major and what high school course work would help you for these majors.I graduated high school early, at the end of my junior year, because my situation at home was difficult. My parents were fighting, blamed it on me, and threatened to kick me out of the house. I offered to finish high school a year early, and leave in a few months. However, I really did not take course work that would have helped me in college (I attended Reed college, a tough school). In high school, I had time for only geometry, trig, and algebra 2, but not pre-calc, which I would have taken my senior year. If I’d had pre-calc (or better yet, HS calc - not offered then), it would have been very useful for my college courses. Also, I’d taken biology and chemistry, but not physics. Again, taking HS physics would have made my college course load easier.I did well in high school - in my junior year, I had the top scores, in my school of about 2,000 students, in both the math and English SAT tests, as well as a 5 on my English AP exam. (The only AP course offered at the time in my high school in California in 1969).If you can take courses at a nearby college, you may make friends there with whom you are more compatible. This could help you decide on a college major, and better prepare you for college studies.Good luck!

If You Fail Any of Your Regents Do They Call Your House?

I go to Lincoln high school in NY, I took the Trig, US history and Living Environment regents and I haven't gotten any calls, does that mean I've passed them?
I'm in the 9th grade btw

What do you wish you would have known in high school?

when your parents tell you this time and education is the most important, listen! or you will have a lot of catching up to do.
I would tell you to stay away from the rich, preppie kids. They have more money than they know what to do with, and those kids are the ones that get in trouble. Their parents just cover it up.
stay away from drugs, and alcohol. I enjoy an adult bev. as much as the next guy. and I let my kids try things at home to demystify it all. BUt it's called adult beverage for a reason.
Most importantly, you are going to make mistakes, lots of them, your entire life. Big ones, little ones, some will just hurt you, some will hurt others.Everyone does it, that's how we learn. The key is, when you make one, admit it right away, or take responsibility, work as quickly as you can to fix it, and then move on. Don't make that same mistake twice.
here is the biggest news... the part of the brain that makes us do the right thing when faced with right or wrong, is the last part of the brain to mature. ( this is science here, not a joke.), so when faced with a choice, or something your not sure about, the best advice I can give you is to stop and think about the big picture. I wish I would have known all this , believe me!
If the action might bring a policeman to your Mom's door, you would be embarrassed for your favorite adult to know you did this, or if your just not sure.... the best choice would be not to do it! LOL When my children were teens, I used this analogy on them, they told me I was lame. Now, they use it with their own kids, ROFL... so now I guess they're lame.
Have fun, but make sure your homework is done first. and do not go steady with one boy... where's the fun in that?

Us History Regents?

You shouldn't stress yourself so much before taking a regents or final. This exam will cover everything you learn through the course. The topics on this test will consist of the American Revolution, Civil War, Industrial Revolution, World WAR I & 2, The Cold War, and current American times. There will also be two essays regarding a time based in history such as the Progressive/Populist Movement, or people who have made a major impact on American History (Harriet Tubman, Susan B Anthony, Founding Fathers, etc). You just need to study those sections of a resource book. Its best to prepare by doing some practice essays/multiple choice questions on past Regents, it should come easier to you after get familiarized with the material. In addition, you should consider getting a barron's review book that has practice tests from prior years. This way, along with the reference book, you will know the test format. I hope this helps
