How Should I Develop This Essay

Developing sentence for an essay?

The main idea IS your thesis statement, and in general you should be able to circle in it a term for each of the main areas y will to cover. Each of the next sentences in that paragraph develops one of those area in a general way, and will in fact be a more general statement of what will become the topic sentence of a paragraph to cover each area. Thus for Mandela your main idea should be something that he was a great man because he did A, B, C, D, etc. Your next sentence should generally describe A, say, his early political struggles, and will be the topic of paragraph 2. The next sentence will generally describe B, say, the political unrest in South Africa that surrounded his imprisonment. This you will outline in the topic sentence of paragraph 3, and the development sentences of that paragraph will detail what you have laid out in the topic sentence.

In the thesis sentence and each topic sentence, you should be able to circle the words representing the ideas or points you will develop in the following sentences. And you must do so in the EXACT ORDER you have promised if you expect to convince your reader. Feel free to change the order to make things smoother, which is called revision.

You have now discovered how crappy our educational system is. They always tell you to "write from an outline," but the never taught you how to MAKE an outline. Guess what? I just showed you how.

This should have begun in the fifth grade, and for decades I found myself teaching this to college students, some of them Senior English majors. Oh, and by the way, my daughter told me that my teaching her how to outline when she was nine years old let her look better than everyone else, all the way through college. Maybe one English teacher in your whole school knows how to give a presentation on this essential thing, I'll bet.

How do I develop an essay about fashion and literature?

"Fashion rests upon indiscretion. Workmanship rests upon law. Fashion is vaporous. Workmanship is interminable. For sure what is fashion truly? A fashion is simply a type of offensiveness, so totally intolerable that we need to modify it like clockwork! It is very certain that were it lovely and judicious we would not adjust anything that joined those two uncommon qualities. And wherever dress has been thus, it has stayed unaltered in law and rule for some hundred years." This is a selection that was distributed in the New York Tribune, April nineteenth, 1885, and it's taken from The Philosophy of Dress, composed by Oscar Wilde. Check this website. In the wake of distributing his 'fashion' paper, Wilde turned into the editorial manager of a fashion magazine, The Woman's World. With The Philosophy of Dress he grasped his more business side of composing, so manager's engagement was a sorry astonishment, or so they say. Be that as it may, the paper as one can figure, isn't planned to be a glorification of a fashion world, yet it holds simply a dissident esque shape, as Wilde was known as the fashion extremist. Likewise, how about we not overlook that Wilde lived in a time where society demanded that ladies fit themselves into oppressive undergarments. A girdle figured out how to diminish the circuit of the abdomen by up to 16 inches. Wilde initially tended to fashion mistreatment in 1883, however in 1887, his talk turned out to be more open with an elevated new position as a manager. That same year, he anticipated that ladies would progressively grasp manly fashion. "It is plausible that dress of the two genders will be absorbed as similitude of ensemble dependably takes after closeness of interests," he said. Wilde went ahead to anticipate that dress of the twentieth century would underscore qualifications of occupation, and not refinements of sex. The socio-social impacts of WWI clear up Wilde's prescience with add up to sureness. He later went to include that: "The magnificence of a dress depends altogether and completely on the beauty it shields, and on the opportunity and movement that it doesn't hinder."

How can an 8th grader develop good writing skills for essay writing? How should I go about it?

You need to read. I mean read good writing, not junk written by your peers or even books written for youth. Read newspapers, classic books, essays and articles written by adult authors on subjects that matter and deal with ideas and thoughts rather than emotions. Do not stop. Always read, throughout your life. Observe how others write and imitate their styles. Learn proper grammar and syntax, and use them when you write. Think of essay writing as thinking and painting. Write about something that matters and picture your ideas in your head. Write so your reader can clearly understand your logic and also picture your ideas in his/her head. It's not easy, I know, but you can do it. Further, support your ideas with proof, examples, explanations, and whatever other means you can. What do I mean by “"support your ideas?” Here's an example:you decide you want to say:Autumn is the season of the year that is most emotionally challenging to people.Okay, fine. That's interesting and may be true. Now you must make me believe it….support your ideas.Heres some possible examples:Every year, right a the cooler weather rolls in, my mom starts to get sad. As the fall begins, so do her days of melancholy. The holidays are right around the corner, and her thoughts turn to my father, who died four years ago. Because he is not here anymore, my mom feels that her holidays are ruined. Add in the dying off of plant life and the trees getting bare, and you have a perfect recipe for sadness. There is even an actual psychological condition known as SAD, and it typically begins in fall and lasts through the winter. Yes, Autumn is definitely a tough time of year. All of that supports the first sentence! Good luck and blessings in your writing!

Idea's for essays on "What Idea does the author develop regarding self discovery?" about "A Christmas Carol"?

One would be regret for all the bad decisions made in the past.
Another would be the realization that having spent one's life chasing only riches might leave one empty and without the really important things in life.
Another may be that one's ideas about the poor and how they should be treated might change dramatically when one examines, in depth, what it's like to live as the poor do.
