How Should I Split The Money

What Does It Mean To Split Your Money 3 Ways?

**coughs** I heard it means you can buy a little bit of product and flip it for a huge profit in a variety of street markets.

How do they split the money in a poker tournament?

I'm about to join a small tournament, no more than 100 people, but they say only about 40 people on average actually join. $40 buy in. I was just wondering how they would split it...I heard someone say that 1st place gets 50% and then it goes down from there, but then someone told me 1st gets 20%...Is this something that's different from place to place?

How should we split things if my S.O. makes more money than I do?

In a way that makes sense for your relationship. Emphasis on relationship. If you're in “this is my life partner” territory, then personally I don't think it makes sense to think of your money as separate. I think of you as a team, with team money. One bank account, etc.I get that reasonably people can disagree about that. Some of my married coworkers have three categories of accounts: his, hers, and joint. They contribute to joint accounts on a pro rata basis based on what they earn, and use the joint accounts to pay for joint expenses like meals out, vacations, housing, etc.I don't like that for two reasons: first, it sounds like a lot of work to implement. I mean, it sounds good on paper. But sometimes it's not clear what's a joint expense. (What if my meal costs more than yours? Do I have to kick in from my personal account?) Taking the idea to its logical extreme seems fraught with argument potential.Second, it kind of has an inherent element of distance or mistrust. It doesn't feel like you're a team when, fundamentally, there's this “eat what you kill” thing going on. I mean, say you're a few years into the relationship and the higher earner unilaterally decides to splurge on a luxury car. An event like that seems to me to create distance in the relationship. But hey, to each their own.

I'm going to get a job soon. How should I split my money so that I have money to spend, money to save for college, to help my parents out etc.?

Set budgets for yourself. And depending what the job is, you can be more lenient on how much you give yourself. If you have a standard job making around $8–$12 an hour, you’ll want to take about 60% of that and put it into savings for college. There you’ve got 40% left. 6% of this should go strictly for food(please, no fast food, make smart choices and use coupons!), and 14% for bills and expenses (if you have a car, you need gas and stuff, and if you don't, great, SAVE FOR ONE!) Now you’ve got 20% left. You’ll want to take 5% of this for emergencies only. Now depending on what the situation with your parents is, you can either save 5% or 10% for them, and give yourself the rest for personal leisure.

How much money should i split with my friend from babysitting?

Never lie. Don't be a jerk. You said you need your friend's help. If you don't get the help, it will be a much bigger job for you and very bad things could happen very quickly. Be safe. Be responsible. Watching five kids is not the same as selling a computer and the risks are infinitely more serious. If she's willing to assume half of the responsibility, then give her half the money. Setting up is easy and much less dangerous than taking care of 5 inexperienced human beings. You could pay yourself maybe $5-10 for the time required for "administration" of the job, preparations, costs, etc., but split the balance down the middle when it comes to the real work of the day. After all, wouldn't you expect to be treated fairly? Live by the "Golden Rule" every chance you get. 50-50 isn't too much to pay.

How is the money split up in the case of a tie in a pga tournament?

The money for all positions are added and then distributed evenly.

For example let's assume the Master's payout below:

If there were 4 players tied for 2nd then the amounts for 2,3,4,and 5th would be added and distributed evenly.

1. $1,260,000

2. $756,000

3. $476,000

4. $336,000

5. $280,000

6. $252,000

7. $234,500

8. $217,000

9. $203,000

10. $189,000

11. $175,000

12. $161,000

13. $147,000

14. $133,000

15. $126,000

16. $119,000

17. $112,000

18. $105,000

19. $98,000

20. $91,000

On Family Feud, do they split the money or does everybody win the $20,000?
