How To Accept My Curly Hair And Stop Being Insecure About It

How to accept my curly hair and stop being insecure about it?

I have naturally curly hair, like this:

If I use the right product though and I spend time on my hair I can get it to look like this:

or this:

There is this girl at school in my grade who spreads rumors and she tells people that I curl my hair each morning (that would take hours!!) and I lie about having curly hair. I think it's so stupid but she laughs at me in class about how I spend so much time lying and I must get up 5am and how "pathetic" I am but I'm NOT. Then, if I straighten my hair (which takes 2 hours and it's sooo hot I start sweating I hate it) she makes fun of me and says to everyone "I told you she has straight hair."

What am I supposed to do? I tried ignoring her but no matter what I do she does this. It's not even because she's jealous, she has beautiful long blonde straight hair and she's one of the most popular girls on my grade. Why does she care if my hair is naturally curly? Why does she lie and say it's not??

I just want to stop feeling bad about myself because I'm not pathetic and I'm not lying about my hair :(

Im really insecure because of my hair?

Ok well I have the same hair!! Or I did. I started using an Aussie leave in conditioner and it's great. it relaxes your hair. Spray it on after a shower, let it dry naturally, then spray it on again before bed, then once more in the morning. Brush your hair and then it should be less frizzy :) Oh and i do a strong Keratin treatment every 3-4 months and it's most definitely worth the money! if you do get one wash your hair every 2-3 days and it stays in longer. It was 150 for me (yes, expensive) and worth it. i begged my parents for 2 months and convinced them to let me do it before school started.

Is it acceptable to tell a curly-haired woman she'd look better with straight hair, if she likely has curly hair because of her race?

The only time it's acceptable to share your opinion of what would make any woman (or anyone else) look better is when they have specifically asked you and you are their close friend, or being paid to comment on their looks.Otherwise it's never appropriate. You do not have a right to go around trying to "fix" everyone around you. It's busybodying at best and really overbearing or domineering at worst. If they want to know what you think, they'll ask, never fear; otherwise, they probably have a good idea of what they want to look like already. Nobody is obligated to look good for you, or by your standards of what is "most flattering".Doubly or triply so when you are advising a nonwhite person to change their racialized appearance in ways that add up to "be more white". For example, any black woman rocking a natural or coily hairdo right now in the US has made a conscious, political decision to do so, because not doing otherwise gets her strong pushback from both white and black bystanders.

How do I stop my natural curly hair from getting straight? I love my curls, but since past few months, my curls are all gone. How can I get them back?

Curly hair needs extra pampering. I have few points to share:Using right hair products is the key. Don't use shampoos and conditioners which promise smoother straighter hair. Opt for products specifically designed for curly hair. Also, take note that the products, you use, are mosturizing since curly hair needs moisture. I won't specifically recommend any products as it depends on region and availability.Plopping can be helpful. After washing your hair and detangling them, invert your head, take a t shirt and wrap it around your head while scrunching your hair. You can watch videos on plopping the hair for learning the technique.Stop brushing and combing your hair. Curly hair don't need vigorous brushing. The right time to detangle your hair is in shower while applying conditioner. If you feel the need to comb, refresh your curls by spraying some water and detangling gently with your fingers while scrunching. Before going to sleep, opt for hairstyles which do not disturb natural curls of hair. For e.g. loose top bun. If possible, use silk pillow cover.Hope you get to see results soon.

Do people, or guys more specifically, think that curly hair is ugly?

I am an Italian-American with 3a/3b curly hair. I started using a flat iron about 4 years ago, but recently decided to work towards making my hair healthier by wearing it curly. Do people, or guys more specifically, think that curly hair is ugly? I don't want to feel insecure about my hair, but that seems to be the hardest part of transitioning.
Any tips or opinions?

How to stop feeling insecure when wearing clip-on hair extensions?

I like to wear my clip-on hair extensions, but so far my wearing has been limited to at home use only. I want to wear them out. I'm so scared the wind's gonna blow and my clips are gonna show. What do I do to ease this worry? I want to wear them sooo bad, they look great. But what about the wind? How do I hide them? Do you wear them? How'd you get over being insecure about them?

Why do people make fun of curly hair?

i have the same problum i straighten my hair too though but didn't start doing that untill i got older so i went all threw school with curly hair sounds like she's just a ***** try telling her that her hair is to thin and it makes her look like a rat.
that will get her she'ss be obsessing about how her hair looks.
or give her a black eye and you'll just get a small vacation from school but it wil totally be worth it.
everyone i know now though always say they wish that they had my hair cause i can to so much with it.
most of the time there just insecure about themselfs so add a little on for her to be insecure about if she wants to be like that.

Should I let my curly hair go shorter [pics]?

I've always wanted short curly red hair like your friends. It's so spunky. I've got similar hair to yours and keep it fairly short. Once it's cut the curl will spread to the root and be more curly, plus you'll use way less product in your hair. Have you ever tried a leave-in conditioner or an anti-frizz cream rather than gel?
