How To Avoid Sunburn At Festivals

How much would attending Sunburn in Goa cost?

Your cost for attending Sunburn Music Festival 2015 is largely dependent on when you make your bookings. I have split the cost down into three major buckets: Tickets:Sunburn did an “Early Bird” sale on May 27th this year where limited number of both general admission and VIP tickets were sold.General Admission tickets were available for INR 7,250 (USD 113) and allow general access to the four days of the festival, as well as free access to a select few AfterDark parties.VIP tickets cost INR 12,500 (USD 196) and allow for quicker entry to the festival, as well as an elevated viewing area of the stage. The second “Early Bird” sale will happen on 15th of September and according to the Sunburn website should provide fans with a 20%+ saving. Viagogo, which is predominantly meant as the official ticket-buying platform for international visitors, is presently selling Early Bird General Admission tickets for USD 122 and VIP tickets for USD 210. You can therefore expect full-priced General Admissions tickets to be priced around INR 9,000 (USD 150). Travel:Sunburn 2015 will be held between December 27th and 30th which squarely falls in the peak tourist season for Goa with New Year revelers from across the world heading down here during that period. Even now, the 9th of September, the cheapest Mumbai-Goa return-flight ticket (inbound: 26th December, outbound: 31st December) would cost you about INR 9,500 (USD 145). This figure will only go up the closer you get to the event dates. Accommodation:For the reasons mentioned above, the accommodation rates in Goa would be severely inflated during the event duration. Sunburn will be held in Vagator in Goa which is ~4 Km from the touristy area of Anjuna. If you want to minimize your commute to the event you should stay in and around these two neighborhoods.  If you were to make a booking now, 9th September, you would find decent budget hotels priced at about INR 3,500 (USD 50) per night for this period. While I have not factored in local travel and food etc. you should be prepared to shell out higher than normal rates during this period. If you want to get an instant / real-time budget for your trip, then you can check out the trip planner for Sunburn Music Festival on my site: http://eventraveler.com/trip-pla....- -Edit:The Sunburn Festival has moved to Pune from its December 2016 edition onward. The cost for attending the event will change accordingly.

Is it okay to be bottomless at the burning man festival?

I answered your other question and mentioned the shirtcocking stigma. For 90% of the people there, disapproval of shirtcocking is tongue-in-cheek, and there's no reason why you should let the 10% who don't approve of it stop you. However, a good chunk of the 90% will hassle you about your supposed bad taste in fashion. It's all in good fun. I've never seen the pants cannons myself, and am not sure if they've been there in recent years, but they are a part of Burning Man lore.

Shirtcock proudly. As I mentioned, there are some parties and parades at Burning Man specifically for shirtcockers. If you do shirtcock, you'll probably have some interesting interactions with people; it could be fun. You should be prepared for some of these interactions to be mock-hostile, and there will be a handful of people who will be serious about their disapproval here. People do shirtcock, but you should know ahead of time that "officially" it's disapproved of.

Go to the forums here and type "shirtcocking" in the search box to see what people say about it: http://eplaya.burningman.com/

Some samples:
"I think being given **** because you're shirtcocking is so unfair"

"Maybe we should all make capes for our shirtcocking neighbors, then they could let the little guy hang free, and still keep the sun off their shoulders too. They'd be Super-Cockers! Much better"

"But the fact remains that shirtcocking is a Court Martial offense. One of the few things that is against the "rules" at the Fandango bar is shirtcocking. You will not get served. Period"

"Seriously, if you are planning to "lose it" so much that you'll be planning to barf, why stop there? You could go shirtcocking, while smoking meth, yelling at folks in hushville with your megaphone about howmuch you hate the goverment. "

"Your other option is to just take off your shirt and accept your nekkidness as being far more beautiful than any form of shirtcocking can ever hope to be"

"let's see if this gets me flamed, just for fun: All shirtcockers should should be immediately ejected from the event upon the first instance of shirtcocking reported to a Ranger, NO EXCUSES. Wear pants, go naked, or GTFO."

"I'm on the search for a tux, with tails....... I love wearing mine on the playa. In fact, after a friend's long and rather inspired diatribe about shirtcocking, I decided to go tailcoatcocking."

How should I dress myself to avoid sunburn (men)?

Need more context. Are you at the beach on vacation? Are you at a corporate event that happens to be outdoors? At a wedding?the nature of your visit to this sunny destination plays a HUGE factor in what you should wear.vacation - wear sunscreen and apply it regularly. If you want to avoid sun exposure completely, wear a large hat (wide continuous brim), SPF rated full sleeve shirt, and loose fitting pants of a natural Fibre, or athletic compression pants with an SPF factor.work event - sunscreen, a hat if possible (fedora, flatcap), white full sleeve shirt made up in poplin or linen. If you tend to sweat, wear and undershirt. Trousers made up in linen or high gauge wool (super 120s and up)wedding - sunscreen, hat (remove it for ceremony) and same dress style as corporate, possibly a little more casual depending on the requests of the wedding party.the key here is obviously the sunscreen. Don't rely on cheap drugstore brands, go to a pharmacy or a beauty supply shop and ask questions.

Got a new tattoo today, but going to a festival this weekend, what precautions should I take?

Do not leave the cling film on. Take it off and wash with clean fingers and antibacterial soap. Pat dry with clean paper towels, air a bit, and apply Lubriderm or Curel white unscented no dye lotion (light coat).
If you do use an ointment, discontinue after 3 days.
No matter where you are you must do excellent aftercare 3 - 5Xs a day. No petroleum products, nothing with lanolin, no Neosporin, no sunblock until it is healed about 1 month. Do not cover with bandages or cling film. No swimming, no submerging in water. No cloth towels, no rubbing.
Wear loose clothing over it, and if you want to protect your clothing from ink seepage, and your tattoo from cloth fibers, put a piece of clean paper towel taped above the tattoo, and hanging loosely over it between you and your clothing. Be careful when you remove this that it does not stick to your tattoo, moisten the paper towel to help remove it, and then clean and put lotion on your tattoo.
Also, you want to avoid scabbing! Scabs pull out ink. You do this by patting off any seepage/ink transfer whenever you see it, with clean paper towel (keep some in your pocket or with you in a ziplock bag) , also take your antibacterial liquid soap, and your lotion. (light coats of lotion, don't smother it).
Here's a good video about aftercare:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXS9t1Ec7...
As far as alcohol and drugs, I would keep it light if I were you, mainly so you don't get sloppy with your aftercare. Keep in control and do a good job with your aftercare.
Don't let anyone touch it either, keep it clean.

luck~

HELP! I have a 9 month old sunburn! What's going on?

I am very pale and I get the sun rash when Im out in the sun, but last July (2009) I was at a festival and couldn't avoid getting burned. I was wearing a bikini, so it left my breasts and where the strings were, white.
Now I STILL have marks from then, of course its not red anymore, but a slightly more brown color than were my bikini sat. It is so annoying and unbelievable that I still have an 9 month old tan!

Please, what can I do? I still look like I just left the tanning salon wearing a bikini top, and it looks terrible with sleeveless dresses ect.

Im asking for all the help I can get.
Thanks!
