Blue Cross insurance coverage for acupuncture?
I called my insurance company today (Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield) to see if they cover acupuncture, and they said that they DO (12 treatments per year) but only for certain diagnoses. However, she wouldn't tell me which diagnoses are covered for this, and instead she said I would have to ask about a specific diagnosis then she would tell me yes or no (so basically it had to be a guessing game because I assume they don't want people to find out what is covered then go to to doctor to get that specific diagnosis.) Anyway, does anyone know what diagnoses are considered covered for acupuncture for Blue Cross Blue Shield? She said no already to: infertility, chronic back pain, sinusitis....so what IS covered? So annoying.
