How can I become a marine sniper?

No BS, If you want to be an offical sniper you enlist in the infantry and cross your fingers. Its a gamble that consists of getting a good base and command that will send you to school. If not, the best you can hope for is Sniper platoon where everyone there will be training to do sniper stuff by a sniper but you wont be credited with the training and designation in your SRB.

How can you become an Army sniper in the U.S. Army?

Sniper is an advanced infantry skill. The step before it is designated marksman. You get sent to sniper school (B4 school) if your unit leadership decides that you have a talent for it. You can also apply. Many Rangers and SF members become sniper qualified at some point in their careers.Best route is to direct enlist into the Rangers or Special Forces, if you can qualify for them with your ASVAB. Otherwise you should join the infantry and practice your ass off at the range, get fit, and learn patience. All combat training is hard, specialized schools like Sniper are even harder, and a fair number don't hack it.You won't know if you can until you try.

How do you become a US Army Sniper?

There are two types of snipers in the US Army, Infantry Snipers and Military Police Snipers.Of the two, Infantry Snipers are the more respected type, with a training program that is known to be more rigorous.I’m assuming you want to be an Infantry Sniper. That journey begins by enlisting in the US Army and requesting Infantry. Ask your recruiter if they can guarantee you a light Infantry, airborne or ranger assignment. If you make it through the entry training and get to a light/airborne/ranger unit, work on your rifle marksmanship. If after a year or so, and you have developed a reputation for being a reliable and capable troop who can consistently shoot expert on the range, ask your team sergeant and or squad leader about moving to Recon platoon. If Recon has openings and they take you, after a year or so, after you’ve proven yourself to be a reliable and competent troop, who can consistently shoot expert on the range, ask your team sergeant and/or squad leader about putting you in for sniper school. If you get selected for sniper school, and make it through the course, congratulations, you’ll be a US Army Sniper.

What will I have to do in order to become a sniper in the US Army?

Sign up for infantry. Be the best at marksmanship, physical fitness*, and land navigation. Work hard and compete to get a slot in the Scout section. Be a stellar soldier, always on time, never in trouble, study in your free time. In 2-6 years you might earn a chance to compete for one of the coveted slots for Sniper Basic Course at Fort Benning. It will be very hard. It will most likely be harder to stand out among your peers to get sent there. Be unwavering in your focus to be the best you can at everything. That includes living like a true soldier on your off time and not getting distracted. While you are at it, maybe consider a career in Special Forces or Rangers. There is a decent crossover between those who qualify for a slot at Sniper School and those who are in upper echelons. Back and forth.Discipline.Fitness.Math.Land Navigation.Marksmanship.Have those qualities in the order before joining with that goal.*calculating bullet drop, air pressure and curvature/rotation of the earth are difficult for many. Buy a good book like The Ultimate Sniper by John Plaster to get a handle before you start. It's not about pulling the trigger. It's about discipline to know when to pull the trigger. You are usually worth more being hidden and reporting on what you see.

How could i become a sniper in the Coast Guard?

Well, Lana and Donovan are both right.

We don't have "snipers" - we have "precision marksmen" who fulfill all the duties of the job.

The marksmen on the HITRON are all aviators. The MSRT will fill the job depending upon interest and ability of any member of the unit.

Your first job is to actually get into the Coast Guard - and if you ran into "complications" with the Corps, you may well find it impossible to get into the USCG for the same reasons. Once in, start asking once you get to your first unit. Our marksmanship teams are VERY competitive and hard to get into.
