How Do I Change My Rescue Email for Apple?
Okay, my rescue email for my Apple ID has been compromised. My security answers have been changed because of this hacking. So how do I change my rescue email without my security answers?

this can be done by going to AppleID.apple.com. To do this you will need to have a secondary email address or "rescue" address aassociated with your account. The second email needs to be added and verified so that in an odd situation they can reach you for reset at a second email address.The secondary email address cannot be associated with another appleID, for example your "old" one or one you forgot the password to.THE ONLY ADDRESSES THAT CANNOT BE CHANGED are Primary addresses associated with apple email. @mac, @me,@icloud.

I just tried it by logging in with my primary email address not my iCloud address. And I was able to edit name address and etc. Have you tried it with your primary email address, or is your iCloud address your primary address?and I just tried it with my iCloud email address and I was able to edit as well.. Not sure why you may be having an issue, but maybe you could create a new rescue email address or add one to see if that resolves your issue.. Make sure you "verified" your Apple ID through email if it is new. Unless it's verified, retain aspects are locked up. Give it a look

I would not recommend changing your Apple ID. This action will just create confusion (especially if you share your Apple ID with someone else, which I do not recommend either). Your email as an email address is totally unrelated to your Apple ID - it’s only purpose is to give you a unique user name to use for Apple services- In the past it was necessary to have access to the email in order to reset forgotten passwords if a rescue email had not been set up but today with 2 factor authentication you don’t have to be able to access the email to reset your password it is done with verification codes and trusted devices/phone numbers so even if the email is deleted it will have no effect on your Apple ID- you can rename it if you want but really not necessary.
