You have to change the "from line" setting. This works the same in both versions (Classic AND All New Mail). Mail page>>options>>mail options (or "more options" on the New Mail)>>Accounts (from the list on the left)>>then click on "Yahoo Mail"---(middle of page, under "Accounts"). Now you can erase whatever is showing, on the "From line" and type in something else---a nickname---or your own name---or whatever you want----THEN click "save" changes at the top of that page. You CAN NOT leave that line blank, otherwise Yahoo enters what was previously there or even sometimes puts "False" in place of a name. Some people say you have to log out and then back in, for the changes to be effective----but some find it's "not necessary"-----maybe it depends on your computer ??

When regular people contact you: Then on the old account, use an Out of Office type reply stating that your new email has changed to "whatever the new address is" and that you won't be checking the old account and you suggest they use the new one. Therefore any important emails will find there way to your new account and most likely be updated in their address book. For services and important sites (big companies) that use automated emailing processes. You are going to want to keep an eye on important emails coming through, then login to those websites and change your email address to the new one so you continue receiving your emails that are important to you. For all the rest of the email that we didn't cover above, you could most likely use an Auto Forwarder to send all email from the old account and forward it to the new account, however this may see seamless to you and when you go to reply to someone your account will look different from the original (old address) they sent to. Just because a word had a certain connotation way back when doesn't mean it has the same effect today, like applesauce. Believe it or not, applesauce was considered an equivalent to f.u.c.k. in the 1920s. Obviously, it's not anymore.
