How To Contact Cloud Atlas Creators

What is Cloud Atlas about?

The theme of the film is that all souls are connected, and of eternal recurrence.

Each soul is progressing through the various lives that they live. Some souls continue either for good or bad. For instance, Tom Hanks' characters go through a progression from bad, not so bad, to good, to bad, then to eventually to become a better human. Hugh Grant's characters never progress, and neither of any of the people played by Hugo Weaving. Halle Berry for the most part stayed consistent and her soul was linked through time to Tom Hank characters. The characters played by James D'Arcy, like Halle Berri is consistent and serves as a focal point in time for several others. James Broadbent's characters also goes through various lessons. From the ship's captain, to the egotistical composer, while getting a dose of karma, then moving on to being a prescient. He also serves as a catalyst to revolution. Characters played by Susan Sarrandon, Kieth Davis, and David Gyasi, I can only say is that they supported the other souls through time. Doona Bae, goes from the wife of an Abolitionist along with Jim Sturgess to freedom fighters of the future. Yes, it is hard to to keep it all straight.

Why are my contacts clouding up?

Cloudy vision usually means lack of oxygen to the eyes. Have you overworn them lately? You may need to take them out for a day or two and let your eyes breathe. Be careful because if you have worn them for too long, when you take them off you may have an eye abrasion which you won't necessarily feel until you keep them off because contacts can act as a "bandage" and when you remove them and the blinking process and the air gets on your eyes, That's when you will start to feel it and it can be very painful.

Is cloud atlas any good?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Aside from a few good quotes, it's mostly just watching a bunch of highly acclaimed actors show off their skill. It's like taking 6 films and splicing them together to create an epic ADD nightmare. In order to understand the karmic connection between lives, you have to know who is who in each time and place, and this was not well executed. I felt like I took off from one airport and flew around a few hours only to land where I took off from. I feel embarrassed for all the great actors who invested their time in this flop.

What movies should I watch in order to become a movie buff?

Well, for starters, you should check out any and all of the IMDB top 250 list, as most of these are well known within the world of movie buffs, and are highly and critically acclaimed:

http://www.imdb.com/chart/top?ref_=nv_ch...

Of that list, I'd start off with Shawshank Redemption, Citizen Kane, 12 Angry Men, Pulp Fiction, a lot of the movies towards the top basically.

Now, there are different genres and sub-genres that each buff specializes in. Some consider themselves movie buffs, but stick to only mainstream movies. Some tend to specialize in indie films. Some are horror buffs as well (like me), and others are B movie junkies. Just find a type of film and study and watch the crap out of the movies in that area. For example, if you want to be a horror buff, watch original classics, and cult classics like The Evil Dead series, the Basket Case series, etc.

For starters, tackle the IMDB top 250 list starting towards and around the top. Figure out what your favorite type of films are and go from there. Find what interests you.

My top 5:

Hot Fuzz
The Princess Bride
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
The Thing (1982)
Inglourious Basterds
