How To Convince My Dad To Buy Me Something

How do you convince your parents to buy something for you?

Your parents have to fulfil your needs. They have to make sure you are adequately housed, fed and well cared for. For most parents this means they have to provide you with a home (they pay the mortgage/rent) and ensure you are warm enough (they pay gas/electricity, clothing etc), that you can access education (travel to school, uniforms, clothing, school meals) and can access doctors treatment (medical fees where appropriate).Parents do not have to buy mobile phones or computers or expensive footwear. They have to fulfil your needs, not your desires. Most parents are interested in what you are interested in. They will encourage hobbies that they can afford, and provide boks, toys and interesting experiences for you. But they don’t have to bankrupt themselves in the process.Take care of your things. Show your parents you can take responsibility for the things they trust you with. Ask for what you need and want. Remember they do not have to provide something for you just because you want it. Respect them if they say no.

How to convince your parents to buy you a shirt?

I'm 13 and really I want to buy this band t shirt from Hot Topic. So I had saved money for years until my parents took my own money I had saved from yard sales, chores, Bday money, helping the neighbors etc. and used it on things. They don't give me an allowance. I tried to tell them to give me one but it won't happen. So yeah..I'm broke. Anyway I asked my mom if she can go to the mall with me, since my parents wouldnt let me go anywhere by myself..and she said no. I would try asking my dad but he's always working and on business trips. I asked many times but my mom said that I have lots of clothes when really I dont. I have like what? 4 pairs of jeans and 9 shirts and like 3 sweaters. Also I bought like a shirt from HT a while ago and she said that I already bought something from there. I really wanted to get the shirt and maybe other clothes from different stores since where I live it's getting a little warm and hot. I not ask for things much but I just want this and not ask until when school starts for next year etc.. Thanks

How can I convince my parents to buy me a PS4?

Show them all the other things a PS4 can do besides play games. This was how I (as a simple-minded teenager), convinced my parents to buy us a PS2.  Back then, the DVD had just hit mainstream attention, and our house was filled with nothing but old VHS players.  The PS2 had a DVD player built in, and many people bought it specifically to play dvds (without ever buying a single game).  My parents were able to upgrade their own entertainment, and give their kids a sweet Christmas gift at the same time! The PS4 is a massive media entertainment hub.  In addition to the bluray player, it supports tons of different streaming apps like Netflix, Hulu, HBO Go, Amazon Prime video, etc, etc.  You can link your Spotify account to it and stream your own music from the living room.  You can browse the internet on it.  And depending on where you live in the U.S. you can subscribe to an entire TV channel package, and ditch your cable/satellite provider completely.  I've completely replaced all my various media hubs and disc players with the PS4.  It's my central command center for all entertainment, and it doesn't hurt that the game lineup is pretty sweet.  If either of your parents like technology at all, and wants to simplify the living room entertainment center, well...you've got your selling points now :)

How do I convince my parents to let me buy a drone?

Do some research on drone use, laws, and the specific drone you wish to purchase. Often drones have a way of getting away from people - typically at certain altitudes. How could this issue be mitigated? They can also be misused. Figure out what their objections might be and how you can counter those objections. As far as being a waste, they are a rather expensive toy or object. But many objects are expensive. Can you make it pay for itself? Can you do aerial photography for realtors? Can you do videos for local builders? How could you use your photographs?See if there is a way to document the issues and present a ‘business plan’ to them. The advantages and disadvantages.

How do I convince my parents to buy me shoes?

Okay you should definitely not trade them or lie to them if you want your shoes.. Listen to their reasoning first-- if they're tight on money you should definitely not ask. Parents have finance problems sometimes and the last thing they want is to be begged for shoes. If that's not the case then I would recommend you doing chores or doing side jobs for babysitting or working at a shop. I know it sounds dreadful but you cannot get something of not worked for. Do sweet things for them such as; make their bed, cook their favorite food or desert, keep your room clean (this is a major one!!!) , improve your school work, write them appreciation Notes..It's really the little things that make them want to award you. You can't expect to tell them you have a hole in your shoe and you REALLY need one because I'm sure you have others.. Do not lie. Being a good child to them will make them genuinely want to please you. If this is a drag you could just find a way to make your own money--I mean if you bought it yourself you would cherish it more..Hope this helps and good luck!

How do you convince your parents to buy you a camera?

I like Mr Cellophane's response, and those of others, who have suggested you get a job to save up for one. That's the real world; NOTHING is handed to you for free. (That's how I was able to buy my Hasselblad.)

Once you DO land a part-time job, and have demonstrated an effort to save that money, you could, perhaps, approach your folks again, stating that you'd like to get that camera, you've done your research, etc. Once they see you're focused (no pun intended), they may even go so far as to match what you've saved! Thus, your "investment" would be one-half of what it would have otherwise been.

Buying the actual camera itself is only part of the total acquisition costs involved. Have you considered other items? You'll want to protect your investment with a camera bag. What about recording media, such as memory cards or film - and remember, film has additional processing costs involved.

Let's not forget other accessories such as filters, a quality tripod, etc. While you don't have to buy ALL of these at once, you'll want to plan for buying them down the road.
